(Apocalypse + Rebirth + Space + Hoarding + Ruthless Character + Golden Finger)
Xiao Yi, a ruthless King of Soldiers who struggled for five years in the apocalypse, was betrayed by his comrade...
At night, families gather together, no longer relying on electronic devices, but instead spending long hours telling stories and sharing experiences. Children have become more sensible, no longer crying and demanding things they can't get. Although the process of adaptation is fraught with pain and hardship, people persevere in adapting to difficult circumstances, striving to keep moving forward despite energy scarcity.
In these challenging times of energy scarcity, people are forced to don heavy clothing to ward off the cold or endure the scorching heat. When the cold sets in, thin clothing is no longer enough to provide warmth. People dig out their thick cotton-padded jackets and sweaters from the bottom of their wardrobes and bundle themselves up in layers. The heavy clothing feels like a heavy yoke, slowing and clumsy movement. Every step feels like a drag, and once-easy steps become incredibly heavy. Even indoors, there's no warmth at all, forcing people to huddle in corners clad in these bulky clothes. While working, fingers become clumsy due to the constriction of clothing, and thoughts seem frozen in the cold, significantly reducing efficiency. The situation is equally dire when the heat sets in. Due to energy constraints, air conditioners and fans are rendered useless. People continue to cling to the heavy clothing they've been wearing to keep warm, but the stifling air can't escape, and sweat pours down, soaking their clothes. These extreme temperature swings completely disrupt the orderly rhythm of life. No longer could we wake up leisurely in the mornings to a comfortable temperature, but instead, we were forced to rise quickly due to the cold or scorching heat. Mealtimes became irregular, as the process of preparing meals became long and arduous, often leading to missed mealtimes. Children were unable to study in a suitable environment, struggling to concentrate and their grades suffered. Adults frequently made mistakes at work, exhausted but helpless. Social activities had almost ceased, leaving people with neither the energy nor the mood to gather and connect. Once vibrant lives had become monotonous and dull. Nights, meant for relaxation and rest, were hampered by the cold or scorching heat, making sleep difficult. We tossed and turned, hoping for the dawn, hoping for improvement. But day after day, life continued to struggle in this chaotic rhythm, and people silently persevered through the difficult times, hoping for a return to normalcy.
"If this goes on, we'll all collapse." This desperate cry echoed in the oppressive atmosphere, piercing everyone's heart. Physical and mental exhaustion, like a heavy mountain, relentlessly weighed down everyone's shoulders. Prolonged energy shortages have put immense strain on people's bodies. Thick clothing, worn to protect against the cold, already aches with pain; in the scorching heat, sweat-soaked skin breaks out in rashes and itches unbearably. The daily struggle to obtain basic necessities leaves legs feeling heavy as if they were filled with lead, and their steps increasingly slow. The mental torment is indescribable. Constant anxiety and uncertainty about the future, like sharp knives, constantly cut through inner peace. Once-held hopes for a better life have been shattered by reality, leaving only endless disappointment and frustration. At night, as weary bodies drag themselves to bed, their minds can't stop dwelling on tomorrow's difficulties, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. During the day, facing the heavy pressures of work and life, the mind is on high alert, unable to relax for a moment. Children have lost their innocent smiles, their eyes filled with fear and helplessness. The elderly's health is deteriorating, yet they lack adequate care. Adults make frequent mistakes at work, yet the demands of life force them to avoid even the slightest slack. Families, once warm and cozy, have become tense and oppressive, with arguments becoming frequent. Neighbors have lost their former cordial interactions, each immersed in their own pain. This dual exhaustion, both physical and mental, has pushed everyone to the brink of collapse. Their eyes have lost their luster, their faces are etched with despair, as if they could be swallowed by the endless darkness at any moment. Yet, amidst this despair, people still cling to a faint glimmer of hope, hoping for a day to escape this nightmare.
Xiao Yi and his companions gazed at the dwindling energy reserves, their worries growing heavier. They were deeply aware that they couldn't rely solely on the limited energy they had, or else the future would be bleak. In meeting after meeting, Xiao Yi, his brow furrowed, declared firmly, "We can't sit idly by and wait for death. We must proactively strike and seek alternative energy sources." The others nodded, their eyes revealing determination. And so, they began their arduous journey of exploration. During the day, braving the scorching sun, they traversed the surrounding mountains, rivers, and streams, meticulously surveying every possible source of energy. Xiao Yi led the way, climbing the steep slopes, searching every corner for potential mineral resources. At night, under the dim light of a lamp, they pored over reams of information, researching the possibilities of various new energy sources. Their eyes were bloodshot from the long hours of concentration, yet no one complained of fatigue. They visited expert after expert, seeking advice and pursuing every possible clue. Sometimes, they would journey long distances and endure hardships to obtain a single crucial piece of advice. In the laboratory, they experimented day and night, trying to convert various substances into usable energy. Repeated failures did not discourage them, but instead strengthened their resolve to find alternative energy sources. They also reached out to the local community, collecting ancient and forgotten energy utilization methods, hoping to gain inspiration from them. They communicated with local residents and listened to their experiences and wisdom. Xiao Yi and his companions knew that this was a race against time, and they had to race against time to find new hope for everyone and break the current energy crisis.
