"Brother Lei, wake up, it's time to eat!"

Xu Jiao didn't even take off her apron as she shook Ye Lei, who was fast asleep.

"Hmm... Is the food ready?"

Ye Lei rubbed his eyes. Night had already fallen outside, and he didn't know how long he had slept.

"It's all done. Go wash your face and eat!"

"Okay, hmm... I think I can smell something delicious!"

Ye Lei sniffed.

"It smells good, doesn't it? I told you I'd guarantee you'd be satisfied!"

After Xu Jiao finished speaking, she went into the kitchen triumphantly.

When Ye Lei came out of the bathroom, Xu Jiao had already placed the prepared dishes on the dining table that was originally used to block the door. He glanced at them, and the color, aroma, and taste were simply mouthwatering. The four seafood dishes exuded an enticing fragrance, as if beckoning Ye Lei to quickly taste them.

Steamed lobster with garlic: the lobster's bright red shell is coated with golden garlic, like it's wearing a gorgeous coat. The tenderness of the lobster and the aroma of the garlic combine perfectly, making you feel as if you're on a beach, enjoying the sea breeze.

Steamed abalone, each abalone is plump and full, like a dazzling black pearl. Steaming preserves the original flavor of the abalone, making it tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth, leaving a lingering aftertaste.

Pan-fried cod, with its delicate, white flesh resembling silk. The cod, pan-fried to a golden brown, has a crispy exterior and a tender interior. Garnished with lemon slices, it evokes the feeling of being under a lemon tree, enjoying a refreshing sea breeze.

The black pepper beef tenderloin is tender and juicy, with a rich aroma of black pepper, making you feel as if you have entered a high-end Western restaurant and are enjoying a gourmet feast.

Looking at the sumptuous seafood feast in front of him, Ye Lei couldn't wait to take a bite. Before this, he had mostly eaten at the school cafeteria. This was the first time he had ever had such a lavish seafood feast. He thought to himself, "This time I'm going to have a real treat."

"Xu Jiao, are you done yet? I can't wait any longer!"

Ye Lei called out to the kitchen.

"Alright, alright, the last seafood soup."

After Xu Jiao finished speaking, she brought out a bowl of shrimp and fish fillet soup.

"I never expected you to be such a good cook!"

Ye Lei gave a thumbs up, saying that with Xu Jiao around, they would be in for a treat.

"Hehe... Thanks for the compliment, that's just my hobby!"

"Such delicious food deserves fine wine, don't you have any at home?"

"I think so, wait a minute."

After Xu Jiao finished speaking, she went to the living room. Ye Lei was worried that there wasn't any at home, so he took out a bottle of rare Lafite and two wine glasses from his spatial storage.

"Oh! Brother Lei, it seems like there's none left. My dad probably drank it all!"

Xu Jiao returned empty-handed.

"Don't worry, I have some right here!"

"Hey, where did you come from? Are you a magician?"

"Wow! That's a real magic trick!"

"Brother Lei, you're amazing!"

What woman wouldn't be moved by a man who is full of surprises like this!

"Alright, sit down and eat! Seafood won't taste good when it gets cold!"

"Hmm, I haven't had a proper meal in ages either. Let's begin!"

The two sat down facing each other. Ye Lei opened the red wine and poured two and a half glasses. He didn't know how much Xu Jiao could drink, but he was sure he could handle it!

"Brother Lei, I don't drink!"

"Having some red wine would be a perfect way to enjoy such a beautiful moment, don't you think?"

"Brother Lei, you're so good with words. Well then, I'll have a little drink!"

Xu Jiao hadn't been this happy since the apocalypse. She picked up her wine glass, ready to clink glasses with Ye Lei, when suddenly, "click," the power went out.

"Why is the power out again?!"

Suddenly the room was pitch black, and Xu Jiao complained that the power outage had ruined the wonderful atmosphere.

Do you have any candles at home?

Ye Lei asked.

"Hmm, I think I do. Wait a minute, I'll go find it!"

Xu Jiao turned on the flash on the back of her phone and went inside. Ye Lei shook his head; he knew it still wasn't there.

He calmly took out a lampstand and three candles from his spatial storage. Thanks to his trip to the supermarket, he now had everything he needed.

Ye Lei calmly lit the candles and was placing them on the lampstand when Xu Jiao returned.

"Brother Lei, I've been looking for ages..."

Xu Jiao was stunned by the lampstand in front of her.

"Still no, right?"

"Yeah, Brother Lei, where did you get all of these?"

Xu Jiao pointed to the lampstand.

Does it matter where it comes from?

"It's not important, but..."

"But what? Hurry up and sit down to eat, it's really getting cold this time!"

"well!"

Xu Jiao didn't care about anything else; she felt like she was in a fairy tale world.

"Come on, let's have a clink!"

Ye Lei raised his wine glass.

"Let's have a try."

Xu Jiao raised her wine glass with both hands, and "clink..." the two glasses clinked together. At that moment, their hearts also met, and the romantic candlelight dinner began.

The originally dark night sky was rendered both mysterious and warm by the soft candlelight. Exquisite tableware and fresh flowers were placed on the table, and a faint fragrance filled the air, creating an irresistible romantic atmosphere.

The candles on the table cast a soft, warm glow, illuminating their faces and making their eyes appear even deeper and more loving in the dim light. They savored the food, shared their stories and laughter, and enjoyed this peaceful time that belonged only to them.

As dinner progressed, they raised their glasses for a light sip, the liquid in their glasses shimmering alluringly in the candlelight. On this special night, the candlelight dinner was more than just a meal; it was an exchange of emotions, a process of two hearts gradually drawing closer.
