Chapter 185 You're a lunatic!

"We came back to find you, so we never intended to abandon you. Once we've found everyone, I won't stop you from leaving or staying. Warwing will not disband, and I will take full responsibility for those who stay."

As Carl spoke, he turned to look at the men who had returned with him, his tone carrying a hint of threat.

"Everyone else can come and go as they please, but those of you who came back from China with me, you can't. You know why. You made a promise to Sister Xin, and you have to keep it. Otherwise, even without Sister Xin's intervention, I will be the first to not let you off the hook."

The men nodded readily, "Understood, boss."

After returning from China, I realized how fortunate I was to be in China and by Sister Xin's side.

Country Y is in chaos right now, with various factions forming and fighting for territory every day, more than fighting zombies.

People who hadn't been there before were intrigued, and some asked questions:

"Boss, can we come along?"

"This issue is still uncertain. We need to negotiate with the officials there. However, Sister Xin also said that even if the officials don't allow it, we can find another place."

Carl had confidence in Li Xin'er, not because he was certain she could reach an agreement with the Chinese government, but because he was confident that following her would be the best choice, no matter where they were.

Carl answered everyone's questions one by one.

The group of vultures next to them, all of whom had returned from China, were now gathered together, gossiping quietly.

The golden eagle nudged the vulture on the shoulder and gestured for him to look at Carl.

"Did you notice? It seems like this is the first time the eldest brother has called her 'Sister Xin'?"

The vulture looked somewhat bewildered and asked in confusion, "Really? Isn't that what they always called before?"

The golden eagle rolled its eyes at him, its gaze full of disdain.

"Come on, that's what we all call him, but we've never called him that, our boss."

As he spoke, he suggested asking the pigeons nearby, "Pigeons, don't you think so?"

Pigeon hesitated, glancing at Gavin beside her. Seeing that he had no expression, she answered with relief, "Yes, that's true."

The vulture stared in Carl's direction, stroked his chin, and said thoughtfully:

"The eldest doesn't call me 'sister,' he's got a wild side."

The moment their thoughts were mentioned, their expressions instantly turned serious; this topic absolutely could not be discussed any further...

The last time we talked about this, it ended awkwardly and unhappily.

However, there was always one exception among them: Vulture. Vulture seemed oblivious to anything amiss and continued talking intensely to himself.

He leaned close to the pigeon's ear and asked gossipily:

"Pigeon, they say you like Sister Xin too, is that true?"

"Does that mean you'll be rivals for our boss's affections?"

Startled by his startling words, the pigeon quickly took two steps back, glared at him with displeasure, and warned him in a low voice.

"Don't talk nonsense! Who says liking someone necessarily means being their rival? My feelings for Sister Xin aren't what you think."

The vulture looked bewildered, "What does that look like?"

When the others heard about the pigeon, they offered to explain the problem, and all turned to look at him with curiosity.

He didn't mention it last time, and no one pressed him for details. Now that he's brought it up himself, everyone definitely wants to know the truth.

The pigeon, receiving all the stares, looked embarrassed and scratched its head sheepishly.

"Don't look at me like that."

Gavin, who had been standing by without saying a word, moved two steps closer to the pigeon and urged it on:

"Tell me more about what you like."

Pigeon couldn't stand it anymore these past few days. It seemed like there was some kind of rift between him and Gavin, so he decided to go all out and confront them!

His tone carried a hint of displeasure.

"In your eyes, is there no other emotion besides love? My feelings for Sister Xin are simply those of a superior and subordinate. To be even more shameless, they are just simple friendship, like sibling affection."

Because from the very beginning, I knew that there was absolutely no possibility between us, so I never even entertained those thoughts.

"Sister Xin's appearance is absolutely the most beautiful I've ever seen, without a doubt. Don't you think she's beautiful? Don't you like her?"

"Besides, Sister Xin's abilities are so mysterious, powerful, and practically omnipotent. In the field that I have always been proud of, she has absolutely crushed me. I admire her even more."

"Also, Sister Xin is very good to us. Although she seems aloof and unapproachable, she is actually very thoughtful and always considers our needs. Don't you like her?"

The vulture listened and nodded, finally giving an embarrassed but affirmative answer.

"Of course we like Sister Xin!"

The golden eagle echoed sincerely, "Sister Xin is indeed a special person to us."

The pigeon was satisfied with their reactions and looked at Gavin, who, as if having just finished thinking about a question, looked up at him.

Gavin stared at the pigeons, his gaze scrutinizing, his tone equally impolite.

“I’ve caught you spying on her many times.”

The pigeon felt utterly helpless, like casting pearls before swine. He spread his hands.

"I simply appreciate beauty, isn't that right?"

Gavin stubbornly shook his head, "I can still distinguish between admiration and love in someone's eyes."

Pigeon had the best temper among the team, but even he got angry when Gavin's questioning was rather impolite.

"I don't know how you see it, but let me be clear again, it's not like that!"

"If you really want to know, do you even understand what 'liking' means?! You don't! You only know how to dissect a corpse! Your feelings for Sister Xin are nothing but a morbid possessiveness!"
