Almost the instant Li Xin'er appeared, You Su looked up and a slightly ingratiating smile appeared on her face.

"Ms. Li, we apologize for the oversight on our part today, which disturbed your rest."

"Thank goodness, I thought there was going to be a good show."

Li Xin'er slightly lifted her eyelids and jokingly added to You Su,

"You did a good job with the performance just now."

Yu Su responded with a smile, "Not at all, not at all, Miss Li, I'm sorry to have made a fool of myself in front of you."

You Su was initially a little uneasy. He was unsure of Li Xin'er's attitude towards Du Zhiyuan and was afraid that she would blame him for this.

Now that Li Xin'er has said that, I feel relieved and at ease.

With an apologetic expression, Lu Jin'an also spoke to Li Xin'er:

"Because the transmitter had just been completed, the subsequent information could not be blocked, which is how he learned about your information."

Lu Jin'an considered Li Xin'er as one of his own, and there was nothing to hide about it.

Although Li Xin'er kept an eye on the base's activities from time to time, she had little interest in paying attention to the experimental area behind it.

Lu Jin'an wasn't one to easily reveal her emotions, and that suppressed excitement was almost instantaneous. She then apologized to Li Xin'er again:

"I'm just causing you trouble."

Li Xin'er shook her head indifferently, "It's nothing."

Yu Su, standing beside him, couldn't wait to follow suit and sincerely express his opinion.

"Don't worry, we will adjust our deployment immediately and increase manpower so that those messy people will no longer bother you."

Today was just a mistake; they didn't expect Du Zhiyuan to act so quickly.

Li Xin'er didn't refuse, casually waving her hand.

"Okay, you can make the arrangements. Go ahead and do your work. I'm fine here, I'm going back to my room."

Yu Su replied politely, "Okay, Miss Li, please feel free to call us if you need anything."

Lu Jin'an nodded slightly in response.

"Um."

After dealing with the situation, Li Xin'er closed the door and went back to her room.

Because she refused to meet with Du Zhiyuan, it was clear that You Su and the others were becoming increasingly sincere in their attitude towards her.

I guess they consider her one of their own.

Actually, her dislike for Du Zhiyuan wasn't because of any factional struggle within the base.

No matter how Lu Zheng and Du Zhiyuan fight, it won't have much impact on her business.

If it were someone else, the two might already be sitting together discussing business.

Unfortunately, it was Du Zhiyuan who offended her.

When Yu Wanling defected to Du Zhiyuan, one of her conditions was that once Du Zhiyuan took over the base, he would hand her over to Yu Wanling and let him do as he pleased.

Ugh, this is really annoying.

That evening, the base's senior management gathered for a meeting.

With Yu Wanling's support, Du Zhiyuan is now even more confident. He no longer plays the previous subtle approach and directly confronts Lu Zheng, getting into a big argument.

The struggle between the two factions has now been brought directly to the table.

Du Zhiyuan stood up aggressively, pointing at Lu Zheng and venting his anger.

"What? That supplier is yours? You've sent people to guard that place and not let anyone get close, are you afraid someone will steal your credit?"

He chuckled sarcastically, "Ha, it must have taken a lot of effort to hide the person so well."

He almost believed that Li Xin'er was really the person that the blockhead Lu Jin'an had brought back because of his budding romantic feelings.

Despite Du Zhiyuan's exasperation, Lu Zheng remained calmly seated, his face showing little emotion.

He slightly raised his eyelids, looking at Du Zhiyuan as if he were looking at an unreasonable child.

“Deputy base commander, you can’t just twist the facts and spout nonsense because Miss Li refused your visit today.”

Du Zhiyuan was about to retort when Lu Zheng raised his hand to stop him.

"I will explain the matter of Ms. Li's supplier later, so there is no need for you to be in such a hurry."

As Lu Zheng spoke, he glanced at the other high-ranking personnel seated to his left and continued:

"Assembling the transmitter and deciding to restore communications were not decisions I made alone; they were decisions we discussed in our previous meetings."

"With natural disasters looming, I originally believed that internal conflicts could be adjusted and mitigated, and that the survival of humanity in our country, and even the entire planet, was the most important thing at hand."

Lu Zheng's tone grew increasingly stern. He tapped his right index finger forcefully on the table, speaking each word clearly.

"But my tolerance seems to have become the basis for some people to take up arms and attack me."

"For China to survive, countless Chinese people outside are waiting for us to rescue them!"

He gestured downwards, pointing to several high-ranking officials who had been making frequent underhanded moves recently.

"And you! Look what you're doing?!"

"Our home is almost gone! And you still have the nerve to stay here and argue!"

A moment of silence fell over the meeting room, as if everyone's breathing was exceptionally clear.

Some people lowered their heads in remorse, some glared angrily at certain individuals, but Du Zhiyuan remained unmoved by reason.

He raised his hand and clapped, "Great!"

The sudden applause was unusually loud in the conference room. After clapping, he gave Lu Zheng a thumbs-up and said sarcastically:
