Yan Qing stood at the top of the stairs and glanced up at the roof, but she couldn't see any staircase going up. There was only a staircase going down, winding and zigzagging downwards.

The middle of the staircase formed a hollow shaft, which looked like a dark abyss.

"Big sister, it's so dark here! Xiao Tao is scared!" Xiao Tao quickly ran to her side and held her hand tightly. Coincidentally, she and Yue Qi were standing on either side of Yan Qing.

Yan Qing took two flashlights out of her backpack and handed one to Yue Qi.

"Let's go." After saying that, she instinctively tried to lead the way, but Yue Qi stopped her.

"There's a very unsettling smell here. Be careful, I'll take the lead."

Yue Qi turned on his flashlight and took the lead up the stairs. After taking a couple of steps, he seemed to remember something and suddenly conjured two yellow paper talismans out of thin air, slapping them onto the two people respectively.

He then continued walking downhill, completely ignoring Xiao Tao.

Xiao Tao pouted, but ultimately said nothing.

The eight-story staircase didn't seem very long, but they had been walking for almost five minutes and still hadn't reached the end. Yan Qing started to have doubts; had they run into that damned "ghost wall" again?

"Don't worry, there's no trace of Qimen Dunjia here, it's not a ghost wall."

Yan Qing's expression changed. Yue Qi was walking in front of her, yet he seemed to know her inside and out.
