Three years ago, an enigmatic calamity descended, causing the collapse of the monetary system and the rampant suppression of this world by rules with extremely low survivability.
Su Luo, in a...
It was indeed very relaxing.
It felt like watching a short period drama; the scenes were so realistic that I didn't feel any danger, only growing more curious.
According to General Lu's memories, those monsters were said to be plagues, but they were more like what we now call zombies or mutated monsters. Such things have never been heard of in modern historical records, and the Great Gan Dynasty has no record of them at all.
Could it be that... such apocalyptic scenarios have existed for many eras?
"General Lu, after you did all that, did the outside world change?"
"Changed?" General Lu shook his head. "I don't know. I haven't left this place since then, so I don't know."
Su Luo gasped upon hearing this.
It seems that some answer is emerging.
If this kind of apocalypse will repeat itself soon, what is its purpose? And who is responsible for it?
There are many suspicious points.
"Young lady, it's getting light now, you can go."
General Lu stared intently at Su Luo as he spoke, fearing that this woman might act like a madwoman and pull back the white cloth when he wasn't looking.
After seeing what happened between General Lu and Miss Min, Su Luo didn't force them. It was unrealistic to use money to make them go with her, so she decided to use force instead.
Forced relationships are never sweet. Su Luo has always wanted wholehearted submission, and she's better off without this kind of monster. Besides, Su Luo doesn't think this monster would actually be kind enough to let her go; she's afraid that the moment she lets go, it will be decapitated.
"Thank you for your hospitality, General Lu." Su Luo said calmly as she took out a small brocade box from her bosom. It was given to her by Miss Min, who had suddenly appeared when she was visiting the past.
"This was given to me by Miss Min. I think she meant for me to give it to you."
Before he could finish speaking, General Lu snatched the brocade box away.
"This is...this is!"
"Yes, that's it!"
In the days leading up to the wedding, Miss Min stayed up all night preparing things.
The antidote to the plague.
He had searched the entire Min family compound but couldn't find her, but now she suddenly appeared and was brought back by this woman!
Min'er, are you asking me to let her off the hook?
A four-star monster is not so easily threatened. That being said, General Lu did not really intend to let Su Luo go.
After all, there's something strange about this woman; she might actually be more effective than the previous sacrifices.
"General Lu? General Lu!"
"Ah..." General Lu, who had come to his senses, glanced at Su Luo in front of him and waved his hand. "Never mind, how can I refuse Min'er's wishes?"
Moreover, with this antidote, what need is there for a ritual of sacrifice?
After saying that, General Lu released his grip, and the white cloth slid down with the force, revealing the black coffin that had been covered up.
Inside the long coffin lay a woman dressed in red and white wedding attire, her human form completely obscured. Her body was covered in red camellias, like tumors sucking blood, even her eye sockets were adorned with two enormous camellias.
Su Luo was slightly taken aback, and then saw General Lu pry open the woman's mouth, which was covered with camellia flowers, and put the medicine in.
Within a few breaths, the camellia woman who had been lying in the long coffin stirred, and General Lu, noticing this, helped her up.
The woman remained unmoved, but upon hearing the sound, she moved closer to its source.
The camellias on my body seemed to awaken, blooming and fading, then blooming again. Camellias as big as bowls fell off in whole pieces, only to be replaced by whole pieces, repeating this process endlessly. Especially the two in my eye sockets, it felt like watching fast forward and rewind, my eyeballs falling out of their sockets and then being put back in, falling out and then being put back in, it was very eerie.
However, General Lu seemed not to see it, excitedly embracing the person in his arms, and they were soon overwhelmed by the camellias.
The camellias came on strong, seemingly about to devour everything. Su Luo quickly got up to leave, but then remembered something and turned to look at the long coffin on the lotus platform.
Ten minutes later...
"Quick, let's go!"
Su Luo suddenly darted out of the Min family compound, carrying a black object on his back, and shouted loudly at the bus driver as he ran.
Seeing this, the driver immediately perked up, stepped on the gas, kicked up dust, and stopped at the door. He opened the door, and Su Luo jumped onto the bus with lightning speed, then sped off without stopping!
The camellias behind him stopped just in front of the Min family compound, forming a human shape, looking dejectedly in the direction Su Luo had gone.
'Ding, host failed to clear the four-star mystery dungeon: Min Family Courtyard. Progress bar: 70%. No completion reward or special reward was obtained.'
'Ding, host failed to clear the level for the first time, 100 points have been awarded.'
'Ding, host failed to clear the four-star monster dungeon for the first time, gaining 100 points.'
Hearing the system announcement in my mind, I realized that although I failed to pass the level, I still gained points, which was an unexpected bonus. Thinking about it, it wasn't a complete loss.
Only after completely getting rid of the camellia did Su Luo finally breathe a sigh of relief.
It's been a long time since I've experienced this feeling of being on the brink of life and death. Since my rebirth, I've been able to handle almost every dungeon I encounter with ghost money. The only exception is the Min family mansion, where the guy is a Casanova who only wants to resurrect his lover.
But it wasn't a complete loss, as we managed to snatch this coffin from the Min family compound.
I always felt that this coffin was the most valuable thing in the Min family compound.
'Ding, a contractable monster has been detected.'
'Name of the Mystery: Black Coffin (Star Rating: ***)'
'Ability: Extremely strong defense, ignores the mental attacks of monsters, can withstand a physical fatal blow from a high-star monster, and is effective in monster dungeons (Note: This monster seems to have even higher-level abilities, which are currently undetectable.)'
