Chapter 39 Unlucky Jiang Qinian

"I react instinctively to the presence of zombies."

After saying that, Lin Anran fled to the second floor.

Watching the little figure flee in disarray, Jiang Qinian curled the corners of his lips, his eyes shifting slightly.

The two moved very quickly, collecting all the crystal cores they passed and stuffing all the medicines they encountered into their backpacks.

As Jiang Qinian climbed up the floors, he sensed something strange.

It hurts a little!

He raised his hand and pulled up his sleeve, revealing a wound on his arm that was neither too big nor too small.

We're doomed!

"Wait! You go first, I'll go back later!"

Lin Anran turned around in confusion, her eyes filled with bewilderment. "What's wrong? Is something the matter?"

"I lost something, I'll go back and look for it." With that, Jiang Qinian turned and went downstairs without looking back.

Lin Anran was left looking confused. Never mind, his superpower could still protect her. Taking advantage of the fact that no one was around, she put some medicine into her space.

Thinking about it, I lifted my foot and walked deeper into the area.

......

"Hiss!" Jiang Qinian leaned against the wall, his arms clenched, and large beads of sweat streamed down his forehead and high nose.

He can't be that unlucky! He wasn't bitten to death by zombies, nor was he burned to death when his superpowers appeared, but he just happened to be pushed, then he just happened to bump into a wooden door with spikes, and finally, by sheer coincidence, there was zombie blood on the door.

He let out a cold breath, his body trembling uncontrollably, and he gritted his teeth desperately to keep himself from fainting.

He can't die. His mother is still in someone else's hands, and there are his brothers who have risked their lives for him, and... Ranran.

However, the zombie blood had already seeped into the wound, and there was no cure.

Past events flooded my mind like a movie.

"A-Nian, we can definitely escape, right?"

"A-Nian, are you in pain?"

“A-Nian, ......”

"......"

"Go quickly! Don't worry about me, you must survive."

The blurry face became clearer and clearer, and Jiang Qinian finally saw the woman in front of him.

"Ran...Ranran".

He remembered everything, he remembered it all. It was his Ranran. He hadn't protected her. He hadn't saved her from that hell. She was dead.

He was about to succeed!

He held the already cold body, kneeling in the vast expanse of snow, the biting wind carrying the heavy snowflakes.

"Damn it! They all deserve to die!!!"

......

"Tick-tock! Tick-tock!"

Lin Anran pushed open the wooden door. After collecting the supplies in the last room, she started walking back.

The long, empty corridor was devoid of any life, so she started walking downstairs.

Suddenly, a strange sound came to my ears.

"Ho-ho-ho!"

Lin Anran looked at the tightly closed door in confusion. Hadn't the killing been completely wiped out? Why were there still zombie sounds?

She pulled out a pair of pliers from her pocket and smashed the door lock.

The zombie inside the house became even more frenzied, roaring as it pounded on the wooden door with its long, pale hands.

Lin Anran kicked open the loose door, and the zombie behind it was thrown out.

"Ho-ho-ho!"

The vines quickly transformed into longswords and shot towards the trapped zombie. The zombie under the door seemed to realize the danger and struggled frantically to escape.

A pale face loomed large through the crack, eyes unfocused, pupils unfathomably black, the wound on the face from the door hitting it making the face appear even more cruel yet tinged with a hint of pitifulness.

"Jiang Qinian!!!" Lin Anran stared in shock, quickly retracting the vines that were about to shoot up her head.

She used the hemp rope she had stored in the room to tie up the uneasy hands, and then put a mask on the man who was baring his teeth and pulling on his mouth.

Hmm, this looks pretty good.

They've only been separated for half an hour, how did they turn into zombies?

Lin Anran carefully examined the man in front of her. A black wound came into view, and the zombie toxin had spread to his entire arm.

Could it be that she did it just now? Lin Anran's heart skipped a beat.

Suddenly, her eyes fell on a piece of paper. The words on the paper were crooked and scraggly, as if it was trying its best to suppress something.

"Ranran, kill me! It's in my backpack..."

He knew he would be found, but what was in the backpack? What did he want to tell her?

Without thinking too much, Lin Anran quickly took out two bottles of spiritual spring water from her spatial storage and, without a second thought, poured them all onto the thick, dark wound.

She really couldn't bear to kill such a handsome man!

Half an hour later, Lin Anran searched through Jiang Qinian's backpack. Apart from some food and the medicine they had just scavenged, there was basically nothing else. She looked up at the obedient zombie.

Why are they behaving so well now? They're not stretching their necks and biting randomly anymore.

Lin Anran curiously examined the wound, and to her surprise, it had healed! The spiritual spring water actually had this effect!

"Jiang Qinian! Can you understand what I'm saying?"

She stared curiously at the serious-looking zombie, waiting for an answer.

The man tilted his domineering head, looking at her with a bewildered expression.

"Okay, I guess I was overthinking it."

Lin Anran got up and picked up her heavy backpack, and the man quickly followed behind her, looking obedient.

"Hehe~"

"Sweetie! You need to wear your mask properly! Don't scare them." Lin Anran reached out and pulled at the little white rabbit mask that was about to be rubbed off.

She walked out with a worried look on her face. How was she going to explain herself later? She had tricked their boss into turning him into a zombie.

Back at the campsite, Lin's parents and the others immediately surrounded him.

Lin's mother asked worriedly, "Ranran, I just heard you encountered a high-level zombie. Were you injured?"

Lin's father also said, "Yes, it's so dangerous. I should have gone with you."

"I'm fine, Mom and Dad, don't worry!"

Lin Anran responded to her worried parents, holding their uneasy hands in one hand.

Lin Yu, standing to the side, stared wide-eyed in shock. Something was wrong!

His sister was holding hands with another man!
