Gamma rays streaked across the Blue Star, plunging the world into a new ice age.
People struggled to survive in the extreme cold, enduring immense hardship.
In his previous life, Ji Hao...
When Ye Zhou recognized Ji Hao, his face immediately fell. He never expected that this transaction would be discovered, and that the person who discovered him was Ji Hao, an ability user.
He would have no chance of survival against a superhuman.
Ye Zhou's mind raced, and he quickly came up with an idea. He kicked the middle-aged man through the barbed wire fence, and said indignantly, "Damn it, you beast! You attacked so many students at our Bright Moon Base! Luckily, I was smart enough to pretend to make a deal with you and lure you out so that Boss Ji, who was lying in ambush, could catch you. Hmph, you're finished!"
Then, he looked at Ji Hao and said, "Boss Ji, I originally wanted to go to Principal Li tonight and ask her to take action, but I accidentally discovered that you were following me, so I didn't go to her. Now that we've caught this beast, we can force him to tell us where he is and wipe out his accomplices in one fell swoop. You stay here and watch him, I'll go call for help."
Ye Zhou turned to leave, but Ji Hao stopped him.
Slap! Slap!
Ji Hao clapped his hands and sneered, "Your acting is quite good, but unfortunately there are too many loopholes in your words. No matter how you try to explain yourself, if you dare to betray the base, there's only one outcome for you: death!"
Ye Zhou cried out, "Boss Ji, I'm innocent! I'm an undercover agent, I didn't betray anyone!"
Ji Hao slapped him across the face, making a loud cracking sound. A clear handprint appeared on Ye Zhou's face, stinging with pain.
Ye Zhou was seething with hatred, but outwardly dared not target Ji Hao, and could only keep proclaiming his innocence.
The middle-aged man pulled out a pistol, pointed it at Ji Hao, and said angrily, "So what if you're a superhuman? I'll make you eat bullets. I don't believe I can't kill you."
As he spoke, he pulled the trigger, but the bullet vanished into thin air when it reached Ji Hao.
The middle-aged man's eyes widened, still unwilling to give up, and he fired again until he ran out of bullets. Ji Hao remained standing still, motionless.
"The power of superhumans is beyond your comprehension." Ji Hao unleashed four bolts of lightning, causing the middle-aged man to lose sensation in his limbs and collapse to the ground.
Then, Ji Hao grabbed the two of them, found Li Wansi, and told her what had happened.
Upon hearing this, a hint of coldness appeared in Li Wansi's eyes. She said to the middle-aged man, "Come, explain to me clearly what happened between you and Ye Zhou."
The middle-aged man remained silent.
"Since you want to suffer, then I'll grant your wish." Li Wansi adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses, and a strong beam of light shot from her left eye, striking the middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man let out a scream, his face contorted in pain. He hurriedly shouted, "I'll talk, I'll talk! I was loitering outside the Bright Moon Base, looking for an opportunity to kidnap two pretty girls. Ye Zhou saw me, and I thought he was going to call the patrol team to capture me. But instead of calling, he offered to make a deal with me, saying he could provide the personnel and destination for the survivor squads so I could ambush them. That's how I led my men to attack five squads, killing 12 people and capturing 4 girls..."
Before the middle-aged man could finish speaking, Ye Zhou interrupted him, saying, "That's not how it is. He's lying. He clearly forced me to cooperate with him. I had a sudden inspiration and came up with this entrapment scheme..."
"Shut up!" Li Wansi slammed her hand on the table, scaring Ye Zhou into silence.
After learning the whole story, Li Wansi forced the middle-aged man to reveal the location of the stronghold.
The middle-aged man had no choice but to explain everything in detail.
Ji Hao said, "Sister Wansi, you watch over those two for now, I'll be right back."
Then he said to the middle-aged man, "If the location is fake, I guarantee you will die a horrible death."
After leaving the base, Ji Hao headed straight for the location of the middle-aged man's stronghold, and soon he arrived at his destination.
This is an abandoned factory, and from the break room, the painful screams of a woman can be heard.
Ji Hao kicked open the door to the lounge, his cold gaze sweeping over the men before finally settling on the pitiful women. He recognized them; they were all members of the Bright Moon Base.
A surge of anger rose in Ji Hao's heart. If he didn't kill these people, he wouldn't be worthy of being the big boss behind the Bright Moon Base.
"Who are you?" asked the burly man at the head of the group.
"The person who killed you," Ji Hao said coldly.
The burly man laughed loudly, "Kid, with your skinny arms and legs, you think you can kill me? Are you dreaming?"
Another burly man said angrily, "Dare to interrupt my good time? Die!"
He grabbed the pistol next to him and was about to pull the trigger, but Ji Hao was faster, teleporting directly to his side and snatching the pistol away.
Inside the room, everyone looked surprised, wondering how Ji Hao had managed to do it.
The burly man in the lead realized what was happening and exclaimed, "You must be a superhuman, right?"
"Congratulations, you got it right. Here's a lightning bolt as a reward." Ji Hao raised his hand and unleashed a bolt of lightning, which struck the burly man's leg, causing him to collapse to the ground in pain.
The remaining few had no courage to fight Ji Hao and turned to run away, but Ji Hao unleashed a series of lightning bolts that caused them to convulse and lose the ability to move.
The reason they weren't killed was to spare the lives of the four girls who had been hurt.
After the four women got dressed, Ji Hao found four knives in the room and handed them to them, saying, "Now, settle your scores and avenge your grievances. They ruined your lives, so make them pay a heavy price."
"Thank you." The four girls thanked her, then their eyes flashed with hatred. Although they were covered in bruises and on the verge of death, they mustered their last strength, gripped their knives, and walked toward the burly men on the ground.
