Jiang Chan transmigrated from the apocalypse into a melodramatic novel filled with continuous natural disasters: drought, floods, locust plagues, epidemics... and even interwoven with various stran...
The bullet tore through the air!
Black Wind Demon, who was running for his life, suddenly trembled!
It wasn't excruciating pain, but a momentary, utter, and eerie sense of nothingness! It was as if my legs had vanished into thin air in an instant!
Immediately afterwards, a torrent of scorching heat erupted from the base of his thighs!
puff!
Black Wind Demon's lower body was instantly severed as if by an invisible giant axe!
The cut was a bloody mess, with flesh and bones clearly visible!
Half of his lower leg, along with his ripped trousers and shoes, spun out with the force of the impact and landed with a thud a few steps away by the door!
"Ah—!!!" Black Wind Demon let out a bloodcurdling scream! His body, which had lost its support, suddenly lost its balance and collapsed forward like a mountain of flesh!
His forehead slammed heavily against the hard stone threshold, producing a dull thud that made your teeth ache! Blood gushed out instantly from both the wound on his forehead and the severed thigh!
The intense pain felt like countless red-hot steel needles piercing his brain, causing him to roll, convulse, and howl wildly on the ground!
Thick, fresh blood quickly spread from beneath him, merging with the pools of blood of One-Eyed Dragon and Scarface to form a striking crimson expanse.
The strong, nauseating stench of blood, mixed with the acrid smell of gunpowder, completely dominated the small stone house.
Two gruesome corpses lay on the ground, one headless and the other with a hole in its chest.
The black wind demon, with half its body remaining, rolled and howled in the pool of blood, its voice as shrill as a demon being tortured in hell.
The bloodstains splattered on the wall radiated outwards, like eerie flowers of hell.
Jiang Chan slowly lowered the muzzle of her gun.
The barrel was slightly hot from continuous firing.
Her cold gaze swept across the messy room, as if she were examining her own battlefield.
Her breathing remained steady, as if the three shots had merely swatted away three insignificant mosquitoes.
Outside the stone house.
Dead silence! Absolute dead silence! It was as if the entire bustling mountain stronghold had been choked by an invisible giant hand!
The huge campfire was still crackling and burning, illuminating the astonished, frozen, and stone-carved faces of the bandits around them.
The lewd smiles, excitement, and greed on their faces had not yet faded when they were frozen in place by three consecutive, terrifyingly loud noises, like thunder from the heavens!
The hand holding the wine bowl hung in mid-air.
The throat, which was open and ready to shout, did not produce a sound.
The teeth that were tearing apart the roasted meat stopped chewing.
All movement and all sound were completely erased at that moment.
In the vast open space of the mountain village, only the faint crackling of the firewood burning in the campfire and the mournful sound of the night wind blowing through the flagpole could be heard.
The villagers, huddled in the corner, had completely stopped even their suppressed sobs.
Aunt Zhao covered her mouth tightly, her nails digging deep into the flesh of her cheeks, but she felt no pain.
The woman next to her stared wide-eyed, filled with pure, incomprehensible fear.
The children were held tightly in the adults' arms, not daring to utter a single sob. All eyes were drawn to the stone house, as if by a magnet.
What was that loud noise?
The terrifying sound that tore through the night sky was like thunder exploding right next to your ears! But there were no dark clouds or lightning in the sky! Was it sorcery? Or divine punishment?
A huge question mark, like a cold, venomous snake, coiled around everyone's mind.
The entire mountain village fell into a deathly, suffocating silence.
A deathly silence hung heavily over everyone's heads, like a thick, water-soaked felt cloth, suffocating them.
The crackling of the campfire sounded unusually jarring at that moment, and the howling of the night wind sounded like the wailing of ghosts.
A few breaths.
It's as if centuries have been frozen in time.
"Clang!" The wine bowl in the hands of one of the bandits finally slipped and smashed on the stone at his feet, spilling cheap wine everywhere. The sound of it shattering was like a thunderclap in the dead silence!
The sound was like a key that suddenly turned open a frozen valve!
"Ah—!!!" A young bandit screamed!
He pointed at the stone house in terror, staggering backward, "Did you hear that? Black Wind is calling... he's actually calling... is that house... haunted?!"
Fear, like a plague, instantly ignited the crowd!
"Thunder?! Is it God thundering?!"
"Bullshit! It's not from the sky! It's from that house! The sound is coming from that house!"
"What...what was that noise?! One-Eyed...Scarface and the others..."
Various speculations and terrified screams mingled together, assaulting everyone's eardrums.
Most of the bandits were utterly terrified by the incomprehensible sight before them and the terrifying roar.
"Shut the hell up, all of you!" A violent roar overwhelmed the chaos! At the edge of the crowd, a muscular man wearing half-leather armor and with a fierce look on his face suddenly leaped onto a large rock!
He is the second-in-command, "Scorpion".
He brandished a sharp knife, his face ashen, veins bulging on his forehead, his eyes a mixture of surprise and feigned ferocity. "Where did this monster come from! Bullshit divine punishment! Brothers, grab your weapons! Surround that house! Let's see what kind of monstrosity it is!"
The second-in-command's roar acted like a shot of adrenaline, barely managing to quell some of the unrest.
Several of the usually fierce underlings who followed the second-in-command also reacted, suppressing their fear, and roared in response:
"Grab your weapons! Surround them!"
"Archers! Advance!"
"Don't fucking scare yourself!"
