Li Lin transmigrated to Piltover on the continent of Valoran. He originally thought his life would pass by uneventfully, until he became an employee of the Kiramman family and discovered he possess...
Two minutes ago, in Benso's grocery store.
A middle-aged man with a full beard and a rather portly appearance put down his Hex magnifying glass and shouted into the inner room:
"Ike, has the pocket watch that customer sold us today been repaired? Ike, Ike! Where have you been, you little brat?..."
The fat man squeezed out from the counter cursing and was about to walk into the house.
At this moment, the doorbell rang and a familiar voice came into his ears: "Benso, it seems that your temper has been getting worse recently."
"Vander? Why are you here again, old man?" Benso scratched his receding hairline and snorted coldly. "Didn't I just give you last month's share a few days ago? Are you here to sell me junk again?"
Van der nudged his lips, but he didn't seem to be angry at Benso's unkind tone. "You old bastard, I came here just for you."
"For me?"
"Do you know them?" Vander pointed to the young man and woman who were talking outside the door.
Benso squinted his eyes and looked through the window for a long time. "I don't know who is that?"
"I came from the city specifically to look for you. I wanted to buy something from you."
Fander pulled up a chair in front of the counter and sat down. He picked up the bottle on the table and poured himself a glass of wine. "Have you offended anyone in Upper City recently?"
"What you said is true. You know me very well. I rarely even leave the store. How could I possibly offend someone from Shangcheng?"
Benso scratched his beard and chuckled, "Maybe the reputation of the things I sell has spread to the upper city."
"A bunch of junky names?" Vandel took a sip from his cup and looked around the store. "I'm not saying anything, but can you really sell all this junk you buy every day?"
"Hey! You're right! I actually made quite a bit of money from that a while ago." Benso laughed. "It was just a broken piece of glass that Ike found in the trash, and I sold it for 50 silver wheels! Can you believe it?"
He stretched out five fingers and waved them in front of Fandel's face. "That guy also said that if I could find a complete one, the price would be just over $10,000, probably worth a few gold pieces."
"I think you're in trouble." Vandel couldn't help but sigh. "I suspect that fragment isn't something simple. The two people from the Upper City outside are probably here for this as well... Tell them."
As soon as Fandel finished speaking, the doorbell rang again, and Li Lin and Caitlin walked in.
"Welcome, what can you two do for me?" Benso said with a brilliant smile. "Our shop has everything you need, including all sorts of Hextech products, all top-quality..."
"Crystal." Li Lin uttered a word, interrupting Bensuo's introduction. "I'm looking for a complete blue crystal that glows. A friend of mine came here before and bought a piece of it."
"Oh, so that person is your friend. I remember him clearly. But I have to wait for a while for that kind of crystal..."
Benso rubbed his hands and chuckled. Any normal person could tell what he meant by that mercenary expression.
You have to pay extra.
"Tell me, how much do you want?" Li Lin said in a tone that sounded like he was not short of money.
Anyway, it’s not my money that’s being spent, the Gilaman family will reimburse it.
He secretly glanced at Caitlin beside him, and suddenly understood why Jace had spent so much money to buy a piece of fragment without bargaining.
Benso rubbed his chin and hesitated for a moment, then raised a finger:
"Then, a crystal and a sea of gold?"
"Deal. If there are any scraps, try to collect them. I'll pay for them... but don't try to trick me with junk."
Oops! The price was set too low...
Seeing that Li Lin agreed so readily, Benso felt a pain in his heart, as if a large piece of meat had been missed out of his mouth.
He opened his mouth, wanting to go back on his word and raise the price, but a look from Vander beside him made him give up the idea.
It’s best not to go too far with visitors from an upper city family like this.
As a businessman, Benso is also very clear about this.
As the saying goes, first time makes second time familiar. It is a good choice to suffer a little loss in order to gain a repeat customer.
The deal went smoothly, but it wasn't the best outcome Li Lin wanted.
"I heard from my friend that you can only get crystals after Evolution Day?"
"This..." Benso looked at Fandel hesitantly and explained, "The law enforcement in Piltover is very strict during Evolution Day. It's not impossible to get the crystal, but the risk is too great."
"You...are you planning to steal?" Caitlin asked in surprise.
She was well aware that some items that were not allowed to circulate on the market or some stolen items from the Shangcheng family would end up being sold on the black market in Zaun.
But what she didn't expect was that these bosses who bought stolen goods not only recycled and sold them, but also sent their own men to steal them directly.
"How about this, young lady?" Benso said, feeling a little amused. "We can't just create one for you out of thin air, can we?"
"Can it be faster? I want to get the goods before the evolution day." Li Lin asked again.
"Oh, you're saying that so lightly." Benso sighed deliberately. "Nowadays, the streets and alleys of Upper City are full of law enforcement officers. I can't risk my people going to jail..."
It seems that there is still not enough money.
Li Lin stretched out two fingers and interrupted Ben Suo who was still complaining. "Two gold seas and one complete crystal."
