Chapter 188: The Portal to Nashrameh

"We've all witnessed the horrors of the Void. I can't bear to see her continue to be tortured by the armor, and I'm worried.

"I just hope she can grow up as a happy girl, marry a husband who loves her, have children and live a happy life."

Li Lin didn't know what to say, so he could only sigh helplessly, "But... I'm not short of money. You don't have to give me this sword, I will take good care of her."

"Besides money, there are other aspects, right?"

Li Lin was stunned and noticed a meaningful look flashing in Kassadin's eyes.

He...seems to have seen something a long time ago?

"Take it. The stronger you are, the more reassured I will be if Kaisa follows you, right?"

“…”

Over the past few months, Li Lin has always thought that this desert guide is just an honest and simple desert man.

However, if Kassadin is really as simple as he appears, how could he have traveled through the desert peacefully for twenty or thirty years?

He had long noticed the uniqueness and abnormality that he usually displayed and kept it in mind.

It's just that he never asks about things he shouldn't know...

Li Lin took a deep breath, reached out to take the "Blade of Illusion", and tied the rope on the scabbard to the belt of the power armor.

"I see."

The Great Library of the Empire was not far from the Imperial Palace.

The Huangsha soldiers walked ahead for only twenty minutes before bringing them to a grand building that was clearly filled with a scholarly atmosphere.

When the sand soldiers turned into flying sand and dissipated in the wind, Li Lin and the other three slowly walked to the double doors of the library, which were engraved with the eagle pattern symbolizing the royal family and mysterious and obscure rune marks.

Before they could make any move, the more than ten-meter-high door made of huge stones opened automatically, and a cool breeze blew out from the hall in front of them.

The great library, constructed of massive golden marble, was windowless. All light within came from the shimmering blue glow of runic sigils on the walls, a color similar to the astral magic Nasus had once wielded.

Huge metal chains hung from the top of the hall and some thick pillars, connecting to some secret mechanisms in the library.

At first glance, Li Lin felt as if he had returned to the outskirts of the emperor's mausoleum.

"Come in."

Nasus's dull voice echoed in the empty entrance hall, as if floating from the Nine Ghost Realm, and it was impossible to determine his location by the sound.

After Li Lin and the other three entered the hall, the door behind them slowly closed.

Then, a ball of light made of magic power, like stars, suddenly condensed and appeared in front of them, circling around them several times.

Kassa's eyes lit up, and she pointed at the ball of light and said to Li Lin and Kassadin, "It seems like it wants us to follow it!"

Li Lin nodded and called Xiweier, who was lagging behind, to follow him. They followed the guiding light ball all the way to the deepest part of the library.

They took a magic-powered elevator down to the ground and saw Nasus standing with his back to them, upright in front of an empty bookshelf against the wall.

Hearing movement behind him, Nasus extended his claws and slid them across the boards of the bookshelf.

"I've always believed that the past is a tapestry that depicts the future." There was endless sadness in his tone.

Nasus slowly turned and turned his gaze towards Li Lin and the others. "This place was once the cultural and educational center of Shurima. All Shurimans were proud to receive an education here... but now, nothing is left."

"With you here, Grand Secretary, the library will surely regain its former glory." Li Lin gave his sincere blessing.

“Then I’ll take your kind words.” Nasus chuckled and walked over to them. “I remember you mentioned before that your next destination was Nashrameh, right?”

Li Lin nodded. "Yes, I was originally arranged by my family to go there to build a Hexgate."

"Li Lin has delayed us for too long." Kassadin added.

"Well, it just so happens that we're going the same way. I'm also going back to the library in Nashramé, so I can give you a ride."

As he spoke, Nasus twirled the axe in his hand, and the azure magic spun rapidly in front of them, transforming into a circle of light more than four meters high.

"Each regional library has a teleportation array connected to the Great Library of Sun City. I personally supervised its construction, and it seems to still be usable."

Nasus half-stepped into the portal and turned to Li Lin, saying, "Your mechanical devices are still parked outside the city, right? Summon them here. We can return directly to Nashramé, saving over a month."
