Li Lin transmigrated to Piltover on the continent of Valoran. He originally thought his life would pass by uneventfully, until he became an employee of the Kiramman family and discovered he possess...
Half an hour ago.
In the brightly lit Fulgrim's Tavern in the dark alley of Zaun.
Wei and Baobao were lying on the edge of the bar, playing with the cups full of juice in front of them out of boredom.
Boom-Boom bit the straw and sucked up the juice in the glass. He then looked at Fandel, who had just returned with a tray and served three glasses of wine to a table of guests, and couldn't help asking:
"Vander, when can we get out?"
Vandel grabbed the towel draped over his shoulders and wiped his hands, his tone somewhat helpless: "Hey, why do you always want to go out?"
"It's really boring staying at home all the time!" Baobao pouted and said dissatisfiedly, "If you don't believe me, ask Wei."
Hearing her sister mention herself, Wei turned her head to glance at her, and her eyes met with Fandel's.
She opened her mouth but didn't dare say a word. She covered the bruises on her face and turned away guiltily.
"A few days ago, you guys came back so late and caused Baobao to sprain his ankle, so I won't say anything.
"I think it was the day before yesterday, right? What were you doing in that neighborhood of Deka? And you got into a fight with those thugs?"
Wei was furious when she heard the name Deka. "We were just passing by!"
"Just passing by... How can I get into a conflict with those brats just by passing by?"
While wiping the cup, Fandel said unhappily, "Also, Deka's neighborhood is at the edge of the alley. There's nothing there. Why are you going there for no reason?"
"I..." Wei's confidence suddenly weakened after hearing what he said, "He was the one who sent people to provoke us first..."
"I've told you several times, don't mess with that brat. As long as you stay in the alley, they won't dare to touch you. Why won't you listen..."
"Yes, yes, yes. When you were young, you would swallow your anger when provoked, right?" Wei said stubbornly with his eyes wide open.
"You..." Vander lost his temper immediately, "This is different."
He sighed, and things that happened a few years ago unconsciously emerged in his mind.
The sky was filled with red smoke, blood flowed like a river, and there were broken limbs and corpses...
There were also those familiar faces falling under the muzzle of the gun, dying in front of him with their eyes open.
Fandel shook his head, putting these scenes that he would never forget behind him.
"You are still young, you don't understand..."
"I really don't understand." Wei's tone became increasingly aggressive. "In my mind, Vander shouldn't be a submissive wimp!"
Hearing her say this about himself, Fandel slammed the table angrily, "Enough!"
The noisy pub suddenly became quiet, and everyone's eyes were focused here.
After a second or two, everyone continued to do their own things.
They have no right to interfere in the boss's family affairs.
"It's getting late, you should go to bed." Vander said, took the cups in front of them, turned around with a sullen face and continued to work.
Wei snorted angrily, stood up and walked towards the stairs leading to the basement on the side of the bar.
Boom looked at the angry Fandel helplessly, then looked at his sister who left without saying a word.
She couldn't understand why they would quarrel over such a small matter.
At this moment, the wind chimes at the door of Fugen Tavern rang softly.
"May the haze not enter your home. Welcome to Fulgrim's Tavern. May I ask what you may need..."
Fandel, who had just turned around, stopped talking abruptly.
It was a very familiar figure, one that he hadn't seen for several years.
"Hilco..." Vandel's face changed. "Baobao, go find your sister and don't come out."
"But……"
"Stop talking nonsense and go."
Fandel's attitude frightened Baobao.
She glanced at the "guest" who had just entered the room with some grievance, then ran down the stairs on one side with her small feet.
Everyone in the tavern focused their attention on the skinny man with the terrifying "devil" eyes and the few men who followed him.
There were even a few drunk people who pulled out the sharp weapons they carried with them.
Hilko had a blank expression on his face. He walked slowly to the bar and sat down on a random swivel chair.
He rested his arms on the table, crossed his hands and dragged his chin, "Why, don't you welcome an old friend?"
"You bastard, I warned you not to set foot in the dark alley." Vandel gritted his teeth and uttered word by word, "Get out of my tavern with your people, otherwise..."
"It seems like your temper has mellowed down a lot over the years, brother."
Hilko interrupted Vandel, completely ignoring his warning, his words full of sarcasm.
"If it were like before, you would have put on those iron fists and knocked me out."
He glanced at a pair of metal boxing gloves hanging above the right side of the bar.
"You're lucky then...it would be bad if I had to wear them again."
Vandel slammed his fist on the table. Everyone else in the tavern stared at Hilko and his men with a fierce look, and almost everyone pulled out various weapons.
Their men confronted each other coldly, but no one dared to act rashly.
Because no matter who takes the first step, the confrontation will turn into a bloody armed conflict.
Without the boss's permission, none of these younger brothers could bear such responsibility.
"For the sake of your life and the safety of your men, please go back to where you came from. I will not pursue what happened tonight." Vander warned.
"Ha!" Hilco shook his head and sneered, "You've changed so much since before. Did the people of Upper City tame your black hound?"
