For hundreds of years, whenever the Governing Council applied to the Ascension Group, seeking to grant their country a place in ascension, even for one person.

However, the older generation who had witnessed the violent conquest of Shurima firsthand had not yet died, and they instilled hatred of the Empire in their descendants, insulting the Ascended Order and despising the Emperor.
