Arcane: I Built Mechs in Piltover

Li Lin transmigrated to Piltover on the continent of Valoran. He originally thought his life would pass by uneventfully, until he became an employee of the Kiramman family and discovered he possess...

Chapter 511 The Call of Power

In a corner sheltered from the wind, Li Lin used four drones to erect an energy barrier, creating a windless zone of four or five square meters.

Outside, the wind was howling and the snow was flying. Inside, the two people were sitting close to the campfire, enjoying the barbecue and the sweet aftertaste of light beer.

"With your Morning Light and Hexgate, I've saved myself a lot of trouble."

Ryze took a bite of the fragrant hind leg of the snow rabbit, which was slick with oil and sprinkled with spices, and took a sip of light beer, and couldn't help feeling a lot of emotions.

If you are willing to accept the nano armor I give you, it will actually save more time.

Li Lin complained in his heart but didn't say it out loud.

"Mm, this stuff smells really good, especially when sprinkled with Ionia's special chili powder and cumin powder!"

"I'm from Ionia, so of course I know about my homeland." Li Lin shook his head and smiled, clinking glasses with him and drinking. Then he asked, "How long have you been in Freljord?"

"It's been more than a month." Ryze muttered and continued to eat meat and drink wine.

Since yesterday noon till now, he has not eaten anything except some dry food that he brought with him but had already frozen into ice chips.

Sometimes, in order to hurry on his way, Ryze would not rest at night, especially in more dangerous areas.

It is very troublesome to rest on a snowstorm night. Even though there are small mechanical houses that are automatically built in the morning light that has accompanied him all the way and can cope with extreme climates, they cannot be placed in the trolls' territory.

Freljord is very cold, but Ryze's body will be hot due to the energy surging in his body, so it is not a problem for him to travel on a windy and snowy night.

What's more, the weight he carried was enough to make the cruel winter in this wild and extremely cold land seem insignificant.

Li Lin glanced at the scroll on Ryze's back and asked, "New rune fragments?"

"To be precise, it should be a keystone rune, if there is nothing wrong with the scroll." Ryze said in a muffled voice, drank the last sip of light beer in the bottle, and his face returned to gloomy again.

"What's wrong with you? I see you're in a bad mood."

Looking up at Li Lin, who was looking concerned, Ryze hesitated for a moment, then shook his head and sighed, "He's an old friend of mine."

"He has the World Rune Fragment?"

Upon hearing this, Ruiz was surprised, "How did you know?"

Li Lin chuckled, "Your thoughts are written all over your face."

Bitterness crawled across Ruiz's face. "Is it that obvious?"

Li Lin gave him a moment to relax and think.

"His name is Yagu, and I've let him go for too long."

Li Lin was quite familiar with the name Yagu. His tribe was the only human group that could set up camp in the troll territory and compete with the trolls, relying on the fragments of the world rune.

If Li Lin remembered correctly, that world rune should be of the precision type.

"I was too soft-hearted in the past and was deceived by Yagu's lies." Ryze sighed.

"He said he would move south with his people next spring, but now five years have passed...

“Five years is enough time to change a lot of things, not to mention he is holding the World Rune Fragment.

“Although that rune was very mild and did not display much power to corrode people’s hearts, any world rune, even if it was just a fragment, would have an extreme impact on people.

"I suspect that he didn't lead his tribe out of the troll territory because he was bewitched by the rune."

Li Lin listened silently to Ruiz's concerns and asked, "Are you going to go find him now?"

He asked. "Give me the approximate location and I can take you directly there."

"No, let's wait. We have more important things to do now."

From the leather satchel beneath his cloak, Ryze pulled out a parchment scroll on which some distinguished geographer had drawn the rough outline of the Freljord.

Ryze pointed northeast of the mountains, then to the northeasternmost point of the Freljord, between the mountains.

"I visited Troll King Trundle last night, and he told me that I could go along the valley to bypass the river bend and reach my destination.

"But he also warned me not to get close to this place, Frostguard Fortress, which is the residence of the Frost Guards and the Frost Witches."

"That's right." Li Lin nodded. "The Frost Witch isn't just a historical legend. Over the past few years, the Winter Claw has been attached to the Frost Guard."

Ryze was obviously not interested in the Winter Claw. He raised his head and stared at Li Lin with a serious look.

"I can sense that the dark forces are approaching. They are the power of the void. We must find the keystone runes before they do."

Or perhaps, a certain Void Eye has already been waiting beside it...

Li Lin pondered in his heart, called the intelligent computer to send a set of universal nano armor, and said to Ruizi, "Put it on, we will set off now."

After quickly packing up their things, the two of them crossed the distance that would normally take two months to reach, and arrived at the valley on the southwest side of the site where the Yeti civilization was once active.

The canyon was full of ravines and the howling wind and snow were even stronger than in the troll territory they had just been in. Even Ryze, who cast magic to clear the way, found it difficult to move forward.

For convenience, Li Lin persuaded him to put on the nano armor again.

Out of his eagerness to search for the World Rune Cornerstone, Ryze reluctantly agreed.

This world rune is buried deep in the underground ruins and blocks energy perception. The intelligent computer has no way to find it, and can only rely on Ryze's scrolls from the former capital of Helia on the Blessed Island to determine its approximate location.

After flying around a few times in the steep valley and clearing out some stupid and violent snowmen, they soon found an ancient relic left behind by an ancient and intelligent snowman tribe.
