Chapter 535: The Watcher of the Howling Abyss

The huge Frostguard Fortress, built of steel and ice, stands on the top of the iceberg. A bridge made of stone and unknown metal, far surpassing the highest level of mortal craftsmanship, spans the abyss and connects the mountains on the other side of the Howling Abyss. Countless magic teleportation arrays, huge stones and metals, construct glacial caves, scattering azure magic beams towards the sky.

Ashe and Sejuani looked at the Frostguard Fortress rising from the cliff and built on the glacier, and couldn't help but feel deeply moved.

Many years ago, the Winter Claw tribe was on the verge of extinction under the leadership of Sejuani's grandmother Sijian. Although Kokia, who had followed Udyr and now returned, led the tribe to quell the war, they had to rely on the Frost Guard to survive.

Sejuani had seen the Frostguard Fortress. Because of her icy bloodline, the Frostguards almost took her to meet the Frost Witch.

If she had not seized power from her mother and led the tribe away from here, with Lissandra's hostility towards the descendants of her two sisters and her intention to wipe them out, her and the tribe's future would be unimaginable.

"I hate this place." Sejuani murmured as if to herself.

"Don't worry sister, we will face the Frost Witch together."

Ash took her hand, just like they had when they were little and slept in the same bed.

Although Ashe couldn't feel Sejuani's hand due to the isolation of the armor, as a fellow Iceborn, she could still feel the biting cold.

Sejuani felt a warmth in her heart, but it was quickly suppressed by the memory of Ashe "betraying" her and going to the southern valley.

Although it seemed like a misunderstanding to Li Lin and Ai Xi, she still had some grudges in her heart.

After a brief hesitation, Sejuani finally shook off Ashe's hand, "Tsk, who wants to face her with you?"

She hesitated... At least, I could touch her hand like before.

A smile curved up Ash's lips, but he didn't move too close.

It takes time to erase the gap. As long as Sejuani realizes that a stable life in the southern valley brings more happiness than war and looting, she will figure it out.

Then, Ashe turned her gaze to Li Lin and said, "There are many Frost Guards ahead. We should greet them, otherwise the Frost Witch will think we have bad intentions."

"Let's not visit Lissandra yet."

Li Lin flew straight to the other side of the Howling Abyss Bridge, followed closely by Ashe and Sejuani.

"So what are we doing..." Ashe asked on the communication channel.

"First, let's go meet an old acquaintance of the Three Ice Sisters."

"Huh? Are you out of your mind? The three Ice Sisters lived almost ten thousand years ago. How could their old acquaintance live so long?" Sejuani sneered in the voice chat.

"Then guess why Lissandra is still alive?"

Li Lin's rebuttal silenced Sejuani.

"Well, we'll find out once we get there," Ashe advised. "If the person Li Lin mentioned really knows the Ice Sisters, then we'll know a lot of forgotten history."

"Tsk, whatever."

The armor flies very fast, even in a blizzard, and is not affected by the bad weather at all.

Not long after, Li Lin brought Ashe and Sejuani to the Howling Abyss Bridge, and finally arrived at the top of the glacial cliff, standing in front of a huge frozen stone monument standing on the shore of the Howling Abyss.

Standing before the frozen stele, gazing at this huge stele standing alone guarding the Howling Abyss, Ashe's eyes suddenly became moist for some unknown reason.

"I sense the breath of True Ice Magic."

She untied her armor, and the nanomaterial transformed back into her classic attire. She braved the cold wind and walked to the stone tablet, reaching out to touch the pure ice on it.

The cold was biting, as if it could touch the soul, but she had long been accustomed to it.

"It feels like déjà vu," Sejuani said solemnly, "but I'm sure I haven't been here before."

Then, both of them focused their gazes on Li Lin behind them. Before either of them could speak, a hoarse male voice rang out from the huge stone tablet:

"Avarosa, Serilda...really, is it really you?"
