In a world of bizarre beasts where danger is everywhere, people are divided into different classes based on their genes and abilities.
As the saying goes, dust people should not exist in this...
"Master, that brat just got into trouble again, but he's safe now."
"It seems this kid is really a troublemaker."
A woman's voice came from behind the curtain.
"Master, Liu Yue, the vice dean of Qinglong Academy, is guarding Ye Liangchen."
"Oh, it might be a bit troublesome for Liu Yue to guard him there, but you should still continue to protect him secretly."
"Master, with Liu Yue guarding him, should Ye Liangchen continue his journey through the Beast Forest?"
"Of course, but it depends on his own wishes. Whether he becomes a dragon or a worm is entirely up to him. I hope I haven't misjudged him."
Inside the factory, Liu Yue was somewhat hesitant to look Ye Liangchen in the eye after returning.
She blushed slightly when she thought about what happened today.
"I will explain today's events to the reporters, so please don't feel guilty."
"Sister Yue, I don't have any burdens, it's just that you..."
"What...what happened to me?"
Ye Liangchen was still thinking about whether Liu Yue would feel guilty.
However, he opened his mouth but didn't say anything.
On the Black Cloud Gang's territory, several people who looked like commoners walked over.
Behind them was a bamboo basket containing several empty bottles.
They walked slowly towards the Black Cloud Gang's headquarters.
Several people went inside, and half an hour later, they parted ways and left.
Soon, a group of people quickly approached and began to share their findings.
“There were signs of a struggle inside, but judging from the evidence at the scene, these people resisted, but were killed.”
"It seems that Yue Song and the others are not coming back."
"I don't want to know if Yue Song will come back or not. I want to know where that key went."
“Yue Song gave us information about a person before, and the key is related to this person.”
"Then investigate that kid. Everyone, disperse."
Inside the factory, Ye Liangchen took out the Crimson Jade Lotus he had bought a few days ago from his bracelet.
“Divine Child, stop looking. This Crimson Jade Lotus is not old enough.”
"Is there any way to make it mature quickly? I don't have much time left."
“Divine Child, under the current conditions, it’s probably not feasible. However, I have a theory that might offer a solution.”
"Don't leave things unsaid."
“Divine Child, I have deduced the key. There is a No. 29 ruin near the center of the Jiang Province Beast Forest. This key leads to that place.”
"It seems that this trip to the Beast Forest is unavoidable."
Inside Li Xue's room, Liu Yue was surprised to see how tidy it was, with not even a speck of dust on the floor.
It's obvious that Ye Liangchen cleaned it.
Just as she was feeling sentimental, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in."
As he opened the door, a fragrant aroma wafted out of the house, and Ye Liangchen was somewhat taken aback.
"What's wrong?"
"Sister Yue, I...I'm here to ask you for leave."
"Are you taking leave? Where are you going?"
"Forest of Mythical Beasts"
"The Forest of Mythical Beasts? Are you sure?"
Liu Yue looked at Ye Liangchen, genuinely puzzled.
"Sister Yue, I'm sure. I have to go; what I need is there." Ye Liangchen's eyes were resolute.
Liu Yue frowned. "Liang Chen, the Beast Forest is fraught with danger. With your current strength, it will be difficult for you to escape unscathed. Moreover, there are other forces there eyeing you covetously."
Ye Liangchen smiled and said, "Sister Yue, I know it's dangerous, but I'm also constantly growing. I'll work hard to improve my skills during this time."
Liu Yue sighed helplessly, "Since you've made up your mind, I won't try to persuade you any further. It's already dark, let's go tomorrow."
Ye Liangchen nodded.
That evening, Ye Liangchen studied the route planning after entering the Beast Forest.
The following day, Ye Liangchen arrived at the outskirts of Jiang Province.
He had originally intended to tell Liu Yue that she didn't need to continue seeing him off.
Unexpectedly, Liu Yue spoke first.
“Su Yao’s family has assigned her a mission these days and she won’t be returning to the academy. I have nothing to do, so I’ll accompany you. But I must tell you, I won’t help unless it’s a matter of life and death.”
Stepping outside the borders of Jiang Province, the walls gradually become more distant.
Stepping into the Forest of Mythical Beasts is like entering a mysterious world forgotten by time. Trees grow densely, blocking out the sun. Towering trees reach for the sky, their thick trunks requiring several people to encircle them, their mottled bark like ancient runes etched by the ages. Their branches intertwine, weaving a vast green dome, through which sunlight struggles to squeeze through, casting patches of golden light on the ground.
The forest is filled with shrubs of various kinds. Some have large, thick leaves that gleam with an oily sheen; others are covered in sharp thorns, as if on guard against any unknown threats. These shrubs intertwine and form a dense, impenetrable barrier, making it difficult to pass through.
The ground beneath my feet was soft and damp, covered with a thick layer of fallen leaves and decaying branches, exuding a faint scent of humus. Strange bird calls and insect chirps rose and fell in my ears, yet I could not see them.
There is absolutely no trace of human activity here; there are no roads, no houses, and no signs of civilization whatsoever.
It's as if humans have never set foot here; only nature, following its own rhythm, orchestrates the flourishing and changing of life. A mysterious aura permeates the depths of the forest, attracting people to explore, yet also instilling a sense of awe, as if countless unknown secrets and dangers are hidden in that unknown darkness.
