As a Supporting Character, Why Do I Have So Many Heroines Around Me?

Xie Wei, by chance, learned from a system that his world had a 'Child of Destiny', and that he, Xie Wei, was like a minor supporting character with little screen time in a novel within this...

Chapter 107 Lu Yao

The cicadas chirped their melodious songs.

"Hmm," Mu Qingcheng opened her eyes and saw that she was lying on a hospital bed, wearing a hospital gown, in a ward.

'How did I get here?' She tried to move, but a tearing pain shot through her shoulder, stimulating her nerves. 'I remember shielding Xie Wei from the scorpion tail yesterday, and then I passed out. Did Xie Wei bring me here?'

Where is Xie Wei?

Mu Qingcheng propped herself up on the bed with her other hand, enduring the sharp pain in her shoulder as she sat up straight.

Just then, the ward door opened, and a tall, slender doctor in a white uniform strode in. Her hair almost covered her eyes, and her large, white eyes were looking in Mu Qingcheng's direction. She was wearing a plain blue mask, and her slender, white fingers were holding a report.

"Awake?" The person's voice was cold and devoid of emotion.

Mu Qingcheng nodded.

The man walked up to Mu Qingcheng, glanced at the situation, took out a pen and wrote something on the report. After finishing, he put the pen away and extended his fingertip.

A trace of spiritual energy flowed from his fingertips, enveloping Mu Qingcheng as if for an inspection. A few seconds later, his fingertips withdrew, and the spiritual energy dissipated, indicating that the inspection was complete.

"Let me briefly explain the situation to you. If you can avoid touching the injury on your shoulder, do so. During the recovery period, you need to avoid certain foods..." His voice was refined and aloof, as if being a doctor was his side job, and his main profession was being the eldest son of a certain family.

Mu Qingcheng saw the name Lu Yao on his name tag and spoke up.

"Dr. Lu, how is the person who brought me here?"

"You're more concerned about someone else's situation than your own? What? Is he more important than your health?" Lu Yao's tone was calm, but Mu Qingcheng seemed to detect a strong gossip in his words.

"Yes," Mu Qingcheng didn't care about anything else. When she didn't see Xie Wei at first glance, she felt a deep sense of worry and wanted to know what was wrong with him.

"He has more than twenty wounds in total, the most serious one reaching the bone and nearly killing him. He fell into a coma as soon as he brought you here and hasn't woken up yet. His condition is not optimistic."

"Could I see him?" Mu Qingcheng's heart leaped into her throat when she heard that Xie Wei hadn't woken up yet, and her face was filled with worry.

"Who is he to you?" Lu Yao asked in a flat tone, devoid of any emotion, as if he were simply stating a business.

"He is my... lover." After thinking it over, Mu Qingcheng still chose someone with a high enough status. After saying it, her cheeks turned red, and she was a little shy.

Lu Yao raised an eyebrow, then nodded, put away the report, and said, "Come with me."

Mu Qingcheng struggled to her feet and followed Lu Yao out of the ward. She watched as Lu Yao opened the door to the next room and went inside. Mu Qingcheng quickly walked a few steps and saw the room inside.

Xie Weizheng was punching with great energy. Hearing the door open, he didn't turn around but continued punching and talking.

"Lu Yao, what were the results of your checkup? Is there anything serious?"

"Remember to tell me when you wake up. I'm going to pull off a self-inflicted injury ploy; you can make up a story about how miserable I am."

"Hmm? Why aren't you saying anything..." Seeing that Lu Yao didn't speak, Xie Wei was about to turn around to see what was going on when he saw Mu Qingcheng standing at the door, still feeling worried because of what Lu Yao had said.

Xie Wei looked at Mu Qingcheng's worried expression, then at Lu Yao who was smiling, and hesitated for a moment before saying, "Should I lie in the hospital bed and pretend to be sick now?"

With tears welling up in her eyes, Mu Qingcheng rushed to Xie Wei and hugged him tightly. Her soft sobs echoed in Xie Wei's ears.

"Thank goodness you're alright," she said, then hugged Xie Wei tightly.

"Ouch~" Xie Wei winced slightly, then quickly added to avoid being noticed by Mu Qingcheng, "Although I don't know what that kid Lu Yao said to you, I'm really fine, haha."

Mu Qingcheng still heard the cry of pain. She withdrew her arms from Xie Wei, looked at him with tears in her eyes and a worried look in her eyes, and was very touching.

"What's wrong with you?" she asked, then used her uninjured hand to pull at Xie Wei's clothes.

Xie Wei quickly grabbed her hand to stop her from going any further, and said in a feigned shy tone, "Why is Xiao Chengzi being so proactive? We're still outside, it's not appropriate to do this kind of thing. Let's go home and talk about it, okay?"

Mu Qingcheng ignored Xie Wei's words and turned to look at Lu Yao. Lu Yao also tactfully left and closed the door behind him.

"Okay, that's fine now," she said, staring at Xie Wei.

Xie Wei couldn't resist her gaze, so he let go of her hand and let her continue to tug at his clothes.

What finally appeared before Mu Qingcheng were several wounds of varying depths on her back, chest, shoulders, arms, and abdomen. The deepest was a wound on her back, which seemed to have almost healed, but the flesh inside was still somewhat blurred and shocking to behold.

But Mu Qingcheng was not frightened. Instead, she reached out to touch the wounds, but was afraid of hurting Xie Wei. In the end, she stopped around Xie Wei's wounds and gently stroked them.

"Does it hurt?" Mu Qingcheng's eyes were almost overflowing with heartache.

"It doesn't hurt. If you had come later, it would have healed by now. It's a little itchy to the touch. The way you're looking at me makes me even itchier," Xie Wei said jokingly, looking down at Mu Qingcheng.

"You're all talk, I'll make you suffer." Mu Qingcheng's hand climbed up Xie Wei's face, kissed Xie Wei's chin, and then used some force to make Xie Wei's head lower, her breath already reaching her lips.

Xie Wei held Mu Qingcheng's head with his hand and kissed her deeply, following the direction of her breathing, completely lost in the moment.
