Xie Wei, by chance, learned from a system that his world had a 'Child of Destiny', and that he, Xie Wei, was like a minor supporting character with little screen time in a novel within this...
Xie Wei received an invitation to an exhibition of the private collection of Ding Ming, the current head of the prestigious Ding family.
The invitation was sent directly to his home. Logically speaking, given the Ding family's resources, it would be impossible for them to know his exact address.
The previous head of the Ding family, Old Master Ding, had given his father guidance in the field of jewelry, and could be considered Xie Shengyu's mentor. Xie Wei felt it was best to call his mother and ask if there were any hidden agendas before deciding whether to go or not.
Zheng Huaiyu was having a spa treatment with her best friend when she received a call from Xie Wei: "My dear son, did you receive the invitation?"
"Uh, you sent this invitation to my house." Xie Wei felt like he had made a mistake.
"Yes, it was originally sent to our house, but since it might overshadow the main family because of the Xie family's name, it was sent to your house instead."
"Aren't you going to ask for my opinion?" Xie Wei rubbed his forehead, his helpless tone almost overflowing from the phone.
"Ah...son, what did you say...the signal is bad..."
Xie Wei looked at the phone that had been hung up, sighed, and twirled the invitation in his hand.
For him, this kind of thing was both unnecessary and troublesome.
"Did Third Brother also receive this invitation?" Lin Qingying picked up a glass of water and sat down next to Xie Wei.
"Xiao Qingying received it too?"
These private collection exhibitions are usually only open to people with whom you have a good relationship.
"The Lin family had previously collaborated with the Ding family, so they invited me," Lin Qingying suddenly thought of something, smiled slightly, leaned on Xie Wei's arm, and slowly said, "Third Brother, does this count as going on a date?"
"Going to a private collection exhibition? That's novel," Xie Wei pondered Lin Qingying's words, thinking of this as a date, which was quite unusual.
"Third Brother agrees to come with me?" Lin Qingying blinked, full of anticipation.
"Um"
"Mwah, Third Brother is the best!" Lin Qingying excitedly offered her fragrant lips.
"Silly girl, I was going anyway," Xie Wei said, patting the silly girl's head.
“Third Brother looked so troubled and frowning just now, but he looks so relaxed and smiling now,” Lin Qingying snuggled into Xie Wei’s arms. “Third Brother wants to go on a date with me.”
"yes"
"Besides, do I need any reason to kiss you?" As soon as she finished speaking, Lin Qingying knelt down in front of Xie Wei, hugged his head, and quickly left more than a dozen kiss marks on his handsome face.
When the date on the invitation arrived.
Lin Qingying wore a wine-red sequined fishtail dress and rose ruby earrings that Xie Wei had bought at the auction. Her beautiful jade neck was adorned with no other high-end decorations except for Qingxin. In her eyes, Qingxin was incomparable. She wore a thin layer of flesh-colored stockings and fluffy slippers.
Xie Wei stood to the side, wearing custom-made black high-waisted cropped trousers, a dark gray shirt, a simple black suit jacket, and platform shoes with a five-centimeter platform heel from a well-known luxury brand. He was also holding the red glittery high heels that Lin Qingying would be wearing later.
"Xiao Qingying, let's go." Xie Wei did a quick check and then prepared to leave.
"Wait a minute," Lin Qingying jogged over to Xie Wei and looked him up and down. "It feels like something's missing?"
"I understand! Third Brother, wait a moment," she said, and ran to Xie Wei's room.
After a short while, Lin Qingying took out a black tie from the room and thoughtfully tied it for Xie Wei.
Just like a wife seeing her husband off at the door, the two of them naturally thought of it, and their breaths inevitably mingled.
"Time to go!"
"It's still early, let's kiss a little longer."
Upon reaching the entrance, Xie Wei knelt down, gently grasped her slender ankle, and lifted her delicate foot slightly to help her put on her high heels.
Then, out of nowhere, she pulled out a bouquet of classic red roses.
"Since it's a date, how can we not have flowers?" She handed them to Lin Qingying with a smile.
"Third Brother, you deserve a reward for your hard work!"
The two entangled for several more minutes before finally setting off.
Ding Ming's private collection is displayed in a property under the Ding family's name, a private villa.
You can enter by showing the invitation to the attendant at the door.
As you enter the villa, the decor is very Western-style, with intricate oil paintings on the ceiling and walls.
Entering from the lobby into another, more spacious exhibition hall, the decorations are no longer as elaborate as they were outside; everything is now minimalist in style.
Under the dazzling lights were various long tables, on which were placed the main characters of this event: all sorts of collectibles, such as diamond-encrusted Western clocks, antique teapots, and agate bracelets...
The collection wasn't displayed in individual glass cases; instead, it was bordered by red silk strips, seemingly unafraid of being touched. However, those who came here generally wouldn't do something so undignified.
Lin Qingying looked at the tall, upright man beside her. He stood by the table, looking down at the things in front of him. His posture was casual and relaxed, and his demeanor was natural. It seemed that nothing could arouse his interest.
When someone came up to chat with him, he responded with a faint smile, behaving like a humble gentleman.
Although both of them had slightly upturned lips and curved eyebrows, Lin Qingying felt that Xie Wei's smiles to others were different from his smiles to them.
He is dignified and polite to others, but his eyes are indifferent and aloof.
He was gentle, helpless, and indulgent towards them, displaying a variety of emotions, which made Xie Wei even more warm.
After dealing with the people, Xie Wei seemed to have spotted something and led Lin Qingying straight towards that place.
Upon arriving in front of the artifact, Lin Qingying was able to see its true form: an anklet from the Domain City, predominantly gold in color, interspersed with red agate and green jade.
