Xie Wei, by chance, learned from a system that his world had a 'Child of Destiny', and that he, Xie Wei, was like a minor supporting character with little screen time in a novel within this...
Nothing was said that night.
Xie Wei knocked on the door of the room opposite. A few moments later, Xu Daiwei came and opened the door.
Xu Daiwei was dressed today in a gentle, autumnal French-style halter-neck dress with a bellflower design. She wore light makeup, and her small feet, encased in flesh-colored stockings and beige slippers, were all prepared for her by Xie Wei in the room. There were no other decorations, yet her skin appeared remarkably fair. Xie Wei glanced at her and couldn't help but exclaim, "Are all the supporting female characters in this world this beautiful? Then the female lead must be incredible!"
In contrast, Xie Wei wore a black hoodie with a designer logo over a gray-white T-shirt, a decorative necklace, and brown casual wide-leg pants. Her lips were slightly curved, her hair was casually styled, and her features were exquisite.
He looked quite different from his previous serious image; now he appeared more sunny and handsome. This contrast left Xu Daiwei somewhat stunned.
Xie Wei didn't see Xu Daiwei's expression, but said gently, "Come down for dinner. After dinner, I'll take you somewhere."
Xu Daiwei snapped out of her daze, her face slightly flushed, and replied with an "okay."
After dinner, Zheng Qi drove, with Xie Wei and Xu Daiwei in the back. After nearly two hours in the car, Xie Wei was playing on her phone when a soft voice rang out.
"Brother, where are we going now?"
The girl had practiced saying "brother" so awkwardly countless times last night.
Xie Wei just smiled and didn't say anything, leaving the girl confused for a while. In the end, she could only accept Xie Wei's silence. After all, Xie Wei was her sugar daddy, that's what Xu Daiwei thought.
Not long after, Xu Daiwei saw a familiar view from the window—the entrance to Wang Hu's bar in C City's Chinatown.
Xie Wei got out of the car and led Xu Daiwei out as well. At this moment, Xu Daiwei, whose mind was blank, did not notice that she was being led by Xie Wei's hand.
It was midday, and the bar was nearly empty, but the curtains remained tightly drawn, plunging the room into darkness, as if a monstrous beast awaited them. Xu Daiwei unconsciously tightened her grip on Xie Wei's hand, as if drawing courage from him.
Soon after, a person dressed as a waiter emerged from the darkness.
"The bar isn't open yet. If you don't want to cause trouble, please leave." The refusal was obvious.
Xie Wei's gentle expression from the morning was gone; he calmly gestured for Zheng Qi to step forward. The man's face changed upon seeing Zheng Qi's reaction, and he hurriedly said...
"Please wait here for a moment, I'll go inside and inform our boss." He then hurriedly ran inside and disappeared into the darkness.
Not long after, the man came out again and turned on the lights. The bar's true appearance was then revealed: a huge space with a circular stage in the center, and seats distributed around the stage.
The man stopped Zheng Qi outside the bar, allowing only Xie Wei and his companion to enter, and led them to an office. The office had a one-way window near the outside. Upon entering, one found a genuine leather sofa, a gold-plated tea table and chairs, and a small fish tank with a goldfish swimming inside.
A figure sat on the leather sofa, about 140 or 150 cm tall, with dyed yellow hair, a gold shirt tucked into slightly tight pants, loafers, and a large gold watch on his wrist—he looked every bit the villain.
He only spoke after the waiter left and closed the door.
"I heard that a group recently cleaned out the underworld of City B, and I didn't expect that the leader was a kid who hasn't even grown up yet." Wang Hu lowered his head and didn't look directly at Xie Wei, with an unfinished cigar between his fingers. "What? Staying in City B isn't enough, you want to extend your reach to City C!"
Xie Wei's expression didn't change much; he remained silent, looking at Wang Hu as if he were looking at a dead man, since there was no need to waste words with a dead man.
Seeing that Xie Wei remained silent, Wang Hu raised his head and saw Xu Daiwei next to Xie Wei. As if he understood Xie Wei's purpose, he smiled and said...
"I heard that someone offered themselves to buy my life at the auction in B City. I was wondering who it was. It turns out it was someone from the Xu family." Wang Hu continued, seemingly oblivious to the murderous look on Xu Daiwei's face. "You look like your mother. I felt a little sorry when your mother left with your father. Now, your daughter has delivered herself to our doorstep."
"You don't actually think the person next to you took a picture of you to get revenge for you, do you? He might just be trying to curry favor with me by using you as a way to get some business with City C."
"I bet he hasn't touched you yet. Do you think he doesn't want to? He's just too scared, hahahahaha!" Wang Hu laughed louder and louder.
Xie Wei seemed to hear Wang Hu's words, and sat down on the gold-inlaid chair, squeezing Xu Daiwei's hand, who was trembling in a daze.
When Xu Daiwei came to her senses, her gaze towards Xie Wei became wary. Xie Wei, as if he hadn't noticed, patted his thigh.
"Sit down," Xie Wei's gentle tone instantly dispelled the barriers in Xu Daiwei's heart. She slowly sat sideways on Xie Wei's lap with her legs together, rested her head slightly against Xie Wei's chest, and wrapped her arms around Xie Wei's neck.
They stood there, watching Wang Hu, who was talking incessantly. Wang Hu, observing their actions, felt like a clown.
"Hey girl, you don't actually want to avenge you, do you? He wouldn't dare." Wang Hu looked at Xu Daiwei in exasperation, then turned to Xie Wei. "Kid, you keep this girl here. We can talk about cooperation later."
Xie Wei didn't move, and said calmly, "Are you finished?" He paused, his eyes sharp as knives as he swept over Wang Hu, "If you're done, let's settle the score."
