As a Supporting Character, Why Do I Have So Many Heroines Around Me?

Xie Wei, by chance, learned from a system that his world had a 'Child of Destiny', and that he, Xie Wei, was like a minor supporting character with little screen time in a novel within this...

Chapter 7 Going to School

Before going to bed, the girl asked Xie Wei to hold her, saying that her brother's embrace made her feel more at ease and that she wouldn't be afraid.

Xie Wei was somewhat happy, after all, Xu Daiwei was starting to rely on him like an older brother, so he agreed.

After falling asleep, the girl's soft body, beautiful figure, and unique fragrance invaded Xie Wei's senses. Xie Wei could only silently recite the Heart-Cleansing Mantra, reminding himself that she was just his younger sister who hadn't fallen asleep until very late.

In truth, Xu Daiwei felt very lucky to have met Xie Wei. He treated her as a person, not as a commodity at an auction. Being treated as a commodity at an auction was a choice she had no other option but to accept. After the Xu family's demise, she sought out the uncles and elders who had been close to her father.

At first, things went quite smoothly, but those uncles and elders demanded that she obey them. She was willing to do so to avenge her parents, but when they heard that the target of their revenge was Wang Hu, they all refused.

Xu Daiwei was naive, yet not entirely so. She believed that since someone coveted her body, why couldn't she use it as a bargaining chip? So she went to the auction house to discuss it with the person in charge. In the end, the person in charge only agreed because of her father's previous help, and emphasized that she had no connection with their auction house.

Standing at the auction and facing Xie Wei, she saw herself only as a commodity. She thought that after the transaction was completed, she would go down with her parents.

Xie Wei didn't touch her body, but Xu Daiwei could tell he had desire for her. Perhaps it wasn't for her; those were just the reactions a normal man would have.

But he would notice her embarrassment, protect her self-esteem, and show her concern. Xu Daiwei didn't know what her feelings for Xie Wei were; she only knew he was different from others, and she could trust him.

......

"Go to school!" Xu Daiwei sat on the sofa, her small white-stockinged feet crossed, eating cherry tomatoes with a look of surprise on her face.

Just after finishing his meal, Xie Wei was cleaning up the dishes when he suddenly remembered that the system had mentioned Xu Daiwei's high talent in computers, so he suggested that Xu Daiwei go to school.

"Yes," Xie Wei said as he came out of the kitchen after washing the dishes, wiping the water off his apron, looking every bit the stay-at-home husband.

"You're in the prime of your youth, shouldn't you be a vibrant female college student?" Xie Wei had ideas about developing Xu Daiwei's computer talent, but he also wanted to take this opportunity to help Xu Daiwei break free from the past and start a new life.

“But I dropped out of school after my family’s accident,” Xu Daiwei blurted out naturally. “Besides, my school is in City C, which is far from here. I can’t bear to be so far away from my brother.”

Xie Wei knew that Xu Daiwei lacked a sense of security, so he had thought about it long ago.

"We'll go to university in City B, we won't go anywhere else."

"Really!" Xu Daiwei exclaimed in surprise. "Great! Then I can go home every day and see my brother every day." As if she understood Xie Wei's good intentions, her eyes crinkled, and she happily agreed to go to school.

"But I don't know what major I'm suited for?" Since she was going to school, Xu Daiwei wanted to be well-prepared and learn something truly useful so that she could help Xie Wei later. So, she cleverly raised this question to get Xie Wei's opinion.

Upon hearing Xu Daiwei's question, Xie Wei uttered the words he had rehearsed in his mind: "It's about computers, I guess. Computers have been quite demanding these past few years. If you have any questions, I can guide you."

Xie Wei had prepared some arguments to persuade Xu Daiwei of the benefits of learning computers, but Xu Daiwei agreed without hesitation after hearing Xie Wei's suggestion, which left Xie Wei somewhat bewildered.

It felt like I'd fallen into some kind of trap, all going so smoothly. But since Xu Daiwei had agreed, I figured it was a good thing, so I didn't think about it any further.

After settling things with Xu Daiwei, Xie Wei began to address the other purpose of his trip to Y country. He hadn't forgotten that he was there on behalf of the Xie Group to discuss cooperation.

The biggest obstacle to the cooperation was originally the power struggle in B City's underworld, but now Xie Wei has had Zheng Qi clean up B City's underworld, so it can be said that Xie Wei is now in charge of B City.

Not only in B City, but also in C City, after the news of Wang Hu's death spread, the remaining small forces in C City trembled with fear, afraid that Xie Wei would start to clean up C City, otherwise they would have sided with Xie Wei from the beginning.

Now that the biggest obstacle is gone, and he is now the dominant force in City B, and Xu Daiwei still needs to go to school, Xie Wei will only return to China once Xu Daiwei has adapted to life here.

Taking advantage of this time, Xie Wei thought about opening a branch of the Xie family business here. That was his idea, and that's what he instructed Zheng Qi to do.

Since the decision has been made to open a branch office, a basic staff is needed. Therefore, Xie Wei has decided to call his father and ask him to send some capable people here so that he can have an easier time.

"Hey, brat, what happened that requires your old man to clean up your mess?" Xie Shengyu's annoyed voice came from the other end of the phone.

Xie Wei was too lazy to complain about his father. He told Xie Shengyu about his plans and received a definite answer from Xie Shengyu.

Xie Wei knew that Zheng Qi had replied to his mother about his situation, and that his parents had long known about what he had done in Y country.

"Xingzhi, tell the old man that you've reached the Acquired Realm. The old man wants you to visit him when you return to China." Xie Shengyu's impatient tone changed to a serious one.

Hearing his father call his name, Xie Wei knew that Xie Shengyu was about to say something significant. However, he hadn't expected it to be about revealing his strength to his grandfather. He couldn't help but smile wryly.
