That day...

Chapter 285: Sinking

The cruise ship... is sinking?

Holy shit! Ning Xue was saying this luxurious cruise ship was going to sink? Damn, this was my first time on such a luxurious cruise ship, and I was caught in a shipwreck?

Ning Xue asked me to meet her at the bow on the top deck. After I hung up, Su Xiaoniu asked me what was wrong. I told her the ship was sinking. I quickly packed my things, put on my clothes, and rushed out of the cabin with her. The swordsman had been waiting at the door for a long time. When he saw us come out, he said, "Follow me."

He walked on. Su Xiaonu and I had no idea what he was going to do, but we doubted he would harm us. So we followed the swordsman outward. In the corridors of every deck, countless passengers were running around in a chaotic mess. It seemed they all knew the ship was sinking and they had to run for their lives. But, was this chaotic running really going to avoid any accidents?

I'd barely thought this when several elderly, weak, women, and children fell to the ground ahead of me. A group of people behind me ignored them and hurriedly trampled over them. I was furious, eager to rush over and capture them and give them a good beating. But the cabin corridor was already in chaos, the chaos uncontrollable. In the blink of an eye, those people had vanished without a trace.

I ran over, only to help the old woman up before being swept away by the crowd. There was no other way, I had to protect Su Xiaoniu. The old woman was already up, and there were several other women, children, and kids; they should be able to stand up and run on their own. I breathed a sigh of relief, pulling Su Xiaoniu along, and instead of following the crowd, I followed the swordsman.

The swordsman led us along another empty cabin corridor, bypassing the crowd for a long time. Suddenly, a ladder-like staircase appeared in front of us. The swordsman went up the staircase, opened a skylight on the deck above, and climbed up first. I let Su Xiaoniu climb up first, and then I followed.

Climbing out of the skylight, a cold wind howled, and a nauseating, fishy smell assaulted my face. I covered my nose and looked around, realizing we'd taken a shortcut to the large deck outside the ship. This swordsman was truly amazing; he'd found the express passage from inside the ship so quickly! If it weren't for him, we'd probably still be inside, jostling with the other passengers.

Ning Xue was waiting for us at the bow, so I immediately rushed over with Su Xiaoniu. Many passengers had already rushed out, but we didn't pay much attention. We could already feel the cruise ship sinking at an extremely fast speed. I was afraid that in half an hour at most, the entire cruise ship would sink under the Yellow River.

I quickly rushed to the bow with Su Xiaoniu. Sure enough, Ning Xue and Xuan Xuan were already waiting there, but Xiao Bingbing was nowhere to be seen. Ning Xue waved at us as we approached. I went up to her and asked, "Where's Xiao Bingbing?" "Didn't you leave her behind?" Ning Xue shook her head and said, "Xiao Bingbing is at the stern. She knows how to save herself, so there's no need to worry."

I nodded.

Ning Xue added, "There are two lifeboats I've prepared down there. Xu Fei, you and Xiaomo take one, and Xuanxuan, Jianke, and I will take the other. Let's jump in first!"

I nodded and told Su Xiaoniu to wait up there while I jumped first. Once I landed on the lifeboat, I'd let Su Xiaoniu jump down and take over. However, as I was climbing up the railing, braving the howling wind and preparing to jump, I suddenly heard a commotion from behind, and then a group of men and women rushed up, "Don't move! Leave the lifeboat to us!"

They all had guns in their hands. I was stunned for a moment. Why were these people carrying guns? Why is it so unsafe on a cruise ship?

The incident happened suddenly and no one knew it would happen. We were not prepared at all. Ning Xue, Xuan Xuan and the others raised their hands. I could only climb down from the railing and raise my hands as well.

"Stay still!" A burly man, shirtless and sporting strange tattoos, glared at us menacingly. He and several other tattooed men pointed guns at us. Meanwhile, the men and women in suits climbed the railing and eagerly jumped into the lifeboats below. It seemed these gun-wielding men were buying time for the young men and women in suits to escape.

Damn it, their lives are lives, but our lives aren't lives? I was already in a bad mood today because of Su Xiaoniu's incident, and after this group of people did this, my mood was even worse. I almost couldn't help but want to take action. But Ning Xue stopped me. She whispered to me, "Don't be impulsive. They have people up there."

I instinctively looked up at the cruise ship and saw a group of men and women in black carrying sniper rifles, scattered in groups of three or four, their infrared beams sweeping towards us. If we dared to make a move, they would aim the infrared beams at us and shoot us in the head one by one...

Although I don't think their guns can hit us... but there are already many men and women on deck running out. Even if we can dodge, there's a chance we'll hurt innocent people. Never mind, we'll just wait and see. Minimize casualties and escape!

"What should we do? What should we do? The cruise ship is about to sink. Are we all going to sink into the Yellow River with it?"

"I'm still young, I don't want to die yet!"

"Wuwuwu...Mom...Dad..."

The deck was already crowded with people, all looking around in panic, as if searching for something to save their lives. Rescue workers had already taken emergency measures, bringing out the hundreds of spare lifeboats on board, but time was limited, and they could only get a few out, allowing some passengers to board the lifeboats. The majority of passengers remained on the cruise ship, bewildered.
