Xia Minmin accidentally travels back in time to the early 1990s.
By a stroke of luck, she wins the lottery and improves the lives of herself and her parents.
Her relationship with her p...
Before the end of evening self-study, Xia Minmin reported the results of the discussion to Teacher Lu.
"After unanimous decision by the students, the students who are good at singing will sing a song, and the other students will choreograph a simple dance."
Teacher Lu thought it was pretty good, "Do you have any backup songs?"
"Little Tigers' 'Love,' 'Green Apple Paradise,' and 'Red Dragonfly.'"
Teacher Lu did not reply immediately. "I will give you an accurate answer after I find out. In the next few days, you should practice your formation. Our formation must be straight in both directions. You cannot walk in a straight line or a crooked line. That will result in a deduction of points."
Teacher Lu carefully explained some details of the sports meet to Xia Minmin.
"Whether our class can retain the rotating red flag depends on this sports meet! We can only succeed, we cannot fail."
The reason why Teacher Lu cares so much about the rotating red flag is that part of her salary comes from the reward for this flag.
"Okay, teacher. I'll head back now if there's nothing else."
Teacher Lu stopped Xia Minmin, who was about to leave, and said, "Have Gu Fei submit the project form tomorrow."
After returning to the classroom, Xia Minmin conveyed Teacher Lu's message to Gu Fei.
Gu Fei let out a wail and slumped onto the table. "This is so hard! I've been begging and pleading with everyone I know, but we still can't get enough people to sign up for our class."
Class 1 and Class 2 are small classes with only thirty students, and most of the students do not perform well in sports.
Xia Minmin signed up for four projects.
Gu Fei stood up and smiled obsequiously, "Class monitor, as the class leader, you must take the lead and set an example for your classmates. I'll add two more for you. Look, I've signed up for six events too."
Xia Minmin said irritably, "Are you trying to work me to death?"
"How could that be? This little bit of exercise is nothing to you, class monitor. Consider it a sacrifice for the class, and we will always remember your glorious deeds." Gu Fei patted Xia Minmin on the shoulder.
With only two PE classes a week, Teacher Lu borrowed the time from music and art classes to practice marching. With everyone's joint efforts, the marching was pretty much perfect.
Recently, in any slightly larger area of the school, classes have been practicing marching in formation, and the sound of shouting slogans can be heard constantly during class.
Culture and Tourism Committee member Lin Zhilan walked to Xia Minmin's desk. "Class monitor, could you ask Teacher Lu if she's decided which song to use?"
Xia Minmin said, "I asked Teacher Lu this morning, but he hasn't decided yet. Maybe we can decide for ourselves?"
Lin Zhilan frowned. "This is the only way. The sports meet is a bit rushed with only a few days left, so let's vote now!"
Xia Minmin walked to the podium and patted the table.
"Everyone, please be quiet. For the opening performance at the sports meet, we've decided on three songs, but Teacher Lu hasn't responded yet. Let's vote to decide! The minority should obey the majority. I'll choose one song and report it directly to Teacher Lu."
In the end, "Red Dragonfly" won by a narrow margin. Xia Minmin ran to the office to report the situation to Teacher Lu.
"Since you've made the arrangements, I won't go to any more trouble. The entertainment committee member will take care of the performance, and the students who have signed up for the competition should practice frequently. You should ask Gu Fei to keep an eye on that."
"Okay. Teacher, I'll head back now."
After Xia Minmin left the office, the other teachers in the office started chatting.
"Teacher Lu, your class monitor is young, but he is very capable! He does a better job than many older children."
"You don't know this! Teacher Lu's principle in managing the class has always been to let the class run its own course. Big and small matters in the class are decided by the class monitor and the students. This way, the class cohesion is strong."
"This method is only suitable for children with strong self-control. If we let them be left to their own devices in our class, my entire monthly salary will be deducted!"
"Let me tell you, don't underestimate our class monitor just because she's young. She's well-rounded in all aspects, with good grades and a great sense of fun. She excels in sports and entertainment, and all the classmates like to play with her. During breaks, they often spontaneously discuss their academic shortcomings."
"I'm so jealous! Teacher Lu, please stop! It's just too enviable! A well-rounded development in moral character, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor skills—how many parents would envy that!"
"Sigh, I really envy Teacher Lu. Anyway, I'm going to go patrol the classrooms. If I don't keep an eye on those troublemakers in our class, they'll definitely cause trouble!"
The other teachers in the office looked at the teacher who spoke with sympathy; their class and Class One were two extremes.
"Zhilan, you can start preparing for the entrance performance."
Lin Zhilan finally breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this. As far as she knew, the other classes had already started practicing their entrance performances. "Okay, I've choreographed the dances and am just waiting for rehearsals."
Seeing that Xia Minmin hesitated to speak, Lin Zhilan immediately said, "Don't worry, the movements are not difficult. Everyone can learn them in three lessons."
Xia Minmin walked to her seat dejectedly and sat down.
"What's wrong, Xiaomin?"
Tang Meng was doing her homework when she saw Xia Minmin leaning listlessly against the desk.
"Mengmeng, I'm doomed! Gu Fei signed me up for six events. I'm going to be exhausted at the sports meet."
Tang Mengshun, Xia Minmin, and Xiao Daimao said, "Hey, this really highlights the advantage of being in a big class—many hands make light work. Let's have a cookie to calm down!"
Before the last class ended on Friday, Teacher Lu arrived at the classroom door to wait.
The bell rang, and before the teacher had left, Teacher Lu came in.
"Everyone, please be quiet for a moment. I have a few words to say. We will be having a sports meet next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. For the opening ceremony performance, there are no requirements for our class. Just wear your school uniform and white shoes."
"Some students' white shoes have turned black. Remember to wash them clean this weekend."
