After taking a shower, Xia Minmin sat on the drying ground with her hair down, enjoying the cool air. The evening news had ended, and the weather forecast was now on.

The elderly people sitting around kept trying to talk to Xia Minmin. Xia Minmin hadn't seen her relatives from her hometown for so long and wasn't familiar with many of them. She could only smile awkwardly and pray in her heart that someone would rescue her soon.

Fortunately, the city's weather forecast came out, diverting everyone's attention.

Have you seen Chang'an?

"I can't read, how would I know?"

Li Zhonghua carried the DVD player out, and only Xia's maternal grandfather and Xia Minmin were sitting on the drying ground. "Dad, where are they? I brought you a DVD player that can play a lot of TV series. Minmin bought you twenty boxes of TV dramas."

"When you came back today, they said they didn't want to bother us, so they left first."

Xia Minmin watched as Li Zhonghua carried the DVD player out, ran back to his room, grabbed several DVD boxes, ran to the drying ground, put the boxes on her grandfather, and then went back to grab other DVDs. After going back and forth several times, sweat dripped down her forehead.

Her eyes shone brightly. "These are all carefully selected by myself for you and Grandma at the photo studio."

Grandpa Xia touched Xia Minmin's slightly dry hair, "Thank you, Minmin."

The rest of the family members also finished showering, tidied up, and sat down on the drying ground one after another.

Li Zhonghua put the DVD player on the TV, selected a crime drama from Xia Minmin's pile of discs, and started playing the series from the first episode.

Grandma Xia looked at the DVDs and discs and asked, "If we watch these DVDs, will we no longer have to wait for the TV to broadcast dramas every day?"

"Yes, you and Grandpa can watch it all night long without any problem."

"This is great. TV dramas air at fixed times every day. If you miss them, you can't watch them. It makes me think about the plot even when I'm trying to sleep at night."

The people sitting on the drying ground burst into laughter.

Li Qing wiped away the tears of laughter, "Grandma, you're so cute! If you ever have any TV series you haven't finished watching, be sure to tell us and we'll send you the DVDs."

Grandma Xia muttered, "I didn't know there were DVD players. If I had known it would be so convenient to watch TV series, I would have called you a long time ago."

More and more stars appeared in the sky, and fireflies joined in the fun.

Apart from Xia Minmin's constant yawning, everyone else was glued to the TV series, discussing the plot incessantly while changing DVDs.

Grandma Xia said, "Zhonghua, you and Jianguo carry out all the bamboo beds in the house, Chunmei, you and Erni carry out the sleeping chairs in the house. It's still too hot right now, let's go back to sleep later tonight."

"The dipper corresponding to the Big Dipper is the Southern Dipper. The Southern Dipper's six stars are over there, starting from the dipper's head: Tianfu Star, Tianliang Star, Tianji Star, Tiantong Star, Tianxiang Star, and Qisha Star..."

Xia Minmin fell asleep as she talked...

Li Qing was still staring at the starry sky. Things that seemed so common when she was a child are now rare. She hadn't really looked at the night sky properly for many years.

After Xia Minmin and Li Qing fell asleep, the others quieted down their discussions about the plot, while the cicadas chirped incessantly day and night.

After watching TV at midnight, Li Chunmei patted her daughter and said, "Xiaomin, get up. We should go back to bed."

Hearing Li Chunmei's voice, Xia Minmin was so sleepy that she didn't even open her eyes. She mechanically followed Li Chunmei upstairs into the room and then lay down on the bed.

Li Chunmei smiled and shook her head. She had been worried that her daughter would fall in her current state, but she never expected that her daughter would be so gifted and walk up on her own.

Li Chunmei and Xia Minmin slept in one room, while Xia Jianguo and Wang Aimin each slept in another. In Lijia Village, it's customary for daughters and sons-in-law not to share a bed when visiting their parents' home if there are brothers in the family. However, this custom doesn't exist in Xiajia's hometown.

Before dawn, the first diligent rooster crowed, followed by a chorus of crowing until everyone was awakened from their deep sleep.
