Xia Minmin accidentally travels back in time to the early 1990s.
By a stroke of luck, she wins the lottery and improves the lives of herself and her parents.
Her relationship with her p...
Around 5:30 p.m., Uncle Xia Er and Uncle Xia Xiao arrived together.
Xia Minmin, Wang Yu, and Xiao Bao were playing hopscotch in the yard.
Uncle Xia shouted, "What are you little rascals playing?"
Xia Minmin and the others turned their heads and saw the two elders calling out to them.
"Second Uncle, Youngest Uncle."
Uncle Xia and Second Uncle Xia patted each of their heads, saying, "So good!"
Uncle Xia looked at the children with a kind expression, "Where are your parents?"
Xiao Bao raised his hand and shouted, "It's inside the house!"
"Okay, you guys have fun. We'll go in first."
After saying that, Uncle Xia the Second and Uncle Xia the Younger went inside with their hands behind their backs.
Xiao Bao watched as Uncle Xia the Second and Uncle Xia the Younger walked in, and said, "Sister, let's continue."
The three children then played hopscotch in the yard.
Because of what happened with fishing by the pond before, the adults didn't dare let them go out to play.
This game is boring to play alone, but it's not bad when there are more people.
More and more people came to the house one after another; they were probably the craftsmen who would come to repair the tomb tomorrow.
March evenings come early. As darkness falls, the streetlights under the eaves are turned on, and the children continue playing games in the yard by the soft yellow light of the streetlights.
Xia Xiaomei called out from the doorway, "Xiaomin, Xiaoyu, Xiaobao, come back for dinner."
Xia Minmin replied, "Coming, coming, Auntie, we're here."
Although they kept saying they'd be there soon, they continued playing.
"Hurry up, stop playing around. Everyone's waiting for you to eat."
Xia Xiaomei stood at the door, waiting for them to come home for dinner.
Xiao Bao said, "Coming, coming, Auntie, don't worry, we'll be done soon."
"Auntie is serious this time. We'll be done in a minute. Don't worry, it'll only take two minutes at most."
Wang Yu was the last person who wanted the game to end. She had played hopscotch so many times that afternoon and was always the one who lost, even Xiao Bao had won a few times.
Xia Xiaomei had no choice but to wait quietly for the children. Fortunately, two tables were set up, so the meal wouldn't be affected; otherwise, it would have been very impolite to make a group of elders wait for three children!
With Xia Minmin deliberately letting Wang Yu win, Wang Yu finally won the game.
Wang Yu was overjoyed and danced with excitement.
Xiao Bao snorted, "What's so great about it? I just won one game."
Wang Yu made a face at Xiao Bao and shook his head, saying, "I won! I won! I won!"
"You're such a cheapskate! You've won several times before, and I didn't say anything. Why are you being so stingy when it's my turn to win!"
Xiao Bao's face turned bright red as he realized his mistake and mumbled, "Sister Xiao Yu, I know I was wrong."
Wang Yu patted Xiao Bao on the shoulder and said in a mature tone, "It's good that you know you were wrong. I won't forgive you so easily next time."
Seeing that the two made up quickly, Xia Minmin took Xiao Bao's hand in one hand and Wang Yu's hand in the other and went into the house.
Xia Xiaomei looked at the children and couldn't help but shake her head and laugh. She was looking forward to seeing what her and Xiao Wu's children would be like, and whether they would be just as cute.
Two tables were set up in the main room, with all the dishes being the same. Rather than saying it was a table for men and a table for women and children, it was more like one table for drinking and one table for not drinking.
The table where people were drinking started early, while the table where people weren't drinking only had Li Chunmei, Chen Chunhua, and Xia Damei, the three mothers sitting with their arms crossed.
Unlike the upscale atmosphere of the tables next to it, this table exuded a chilly aura.
Xia Minmin, Wang Yu, and Xiao Bao rushed to the kitchen to get water and wash their hands; any later and they'd probably get a beating.
Li Chunmei chuckled as she watched the children tiptoeing around, "We've scared these kids."
Xia Damei touched her forehead, which was covered in non-existent sweat. "Second sister-in-law, there's nothing we can do about it. I never expected these three kids to be so mischievous together."
Chen Chunhua said through gritted teeth, "When you get back this time, I'm going to give Xiaobao a good talking to. He's just outrageous! He's not even seven yet, and he's already causing all sorts of trouble every day. What will he be like when he's actually seven?"
Upon seeing the children come out, Li Chunmei and the others quickly wiped the smiles off their faces.
Xia Minmin, Wang Yu, and Xiao Bao sat on chairs, picked up their bowls and chopsticks, and began to eat. They didn't dare to stand up and pick up food, so they always picked up the food from the bowl in front of them.
Xia Xiaomei put a piece of chicken on each of Xia Minmin, Wang Yu, and Xiao Bao's plate, saying, "You kids should eat more meat. Why are you only eating vegetables?"
Xia Minmin and Wang Yuxiaobao looked up at their mother's face, and their hearts, which had been hanging in suspense, were relieved. They began to return to their normal state.
At the next table, Uncle Xia was drinking and kept reminiscing about his deceased grandparents, who had passed away early. The family had finally gotten better off, but they were no longer here.
Whenever Xia Jianshe talks about his grandparents, he always lowers his head and drinks silently.
Uncle Xia patted Uncle Xia's hand and said, "Just drink, why are you saying all this? The children will be upset."
Uncle Xia murmured, "Yes. Why am I bringing this up? So many years have passed. I'm sorry, Jianshe and Jianguo. I'm old now and don't speak well anymore, please don't take offense!"
"Second Uncle, it's alright! How could we blame you? If it weren't for you lending us money to get through this difficult time, Mom and Dad might have passed away long ago. We should be thanking you properly."
Xia Jianguo raised his glass to toast his second uncle. Although elders may have many faults, he shouldn't hold it against them because of the favor he received when he lent them money back then, especially since they are all so old.
