Chapter 8 Liu Sisi is a Ghost

"Sister, there's no need for thanks. What are your plans now?" Liu Sisi asked.

"I," Li Caiping was confused. She didn't know where to go. Before, she had just been running for her life in a daze, but if she kept running like this, where would she go? Apart from her uncle's family, she didn't know if she had any other relatives.

She stole a glance at Liu Sifu's handsome face, "May I be this young master's maid?"

Upon hearing this, Liu Sifu exclaimed, "No, no! My family is not some landlord, and I am not some young master."

Liu Dashi felt sorry for the girl. He thought how heartbroken he would be if his own daughter had to run around like this to save her life.

“Ping’er, my family doesn’t have any maids. Look at how we’re dressed. We don’t look like the kind of family that can afford to have maids.”

“My family are all farmers, but if you don’t mind, you can come back with me. Sisi is my only daughter, so if you come back, you can be Sisi’s older sister.”

“I don’t mind,” Li Caiping thought. She was overjoyed that someone was willing to take her in after she had already fled for her life.

As Liu Sisi watched Li Caiping speak, she would steal glances at her older brother every now and then. She realized that this might be her future sister-in-law. "Let's take her home!" she thought. "Anyway, I have money now, so supporting another person won't hurt." So she took Li Caiping's hand and said, "Let's go! Sister Ping'er, let's go home."

When they returned to the village, it was already dark. On the way back, as they passed Li Guifen's house, Liu Sisi heard Li Guifen talking behind them.

"Wasn't Liu Sisi eaten by a ghost? I think I just saw her again. Maybe it was too dark and I was just seeing things?"

Upon hearing her words, Liu Sisi recalled how she had entered her spatial dimension while fighting with her yesterday, disappearing into thin air before her very eyes. Wasn't that like seeing a ghost? No wonder she thought that way.

Suddenly an idea popped into his head: he was determined to go to her house tonight and give her a good scare.

When they got home, Wu and her brothers were already waiting anxiously. Upon seeing Liu Sisi and the others, Wu immediately came up to greet them and asked.

Why are you back so late?

"We were delayed by some things on the way," Liu Dashi replied to Wu, and then told Wu about Li Caiping's situation.

Upon hearing Li Caiping's plight, Wu was reminded of her own past. Alas! She was also a pitiful child.

Ping'er, right? From now on, you'll stay at my house. Although we can't give you a life of great wealth and luxury, we'll make sure you have enough to eat. So please stay here in peace.

Li Caiping was quite nervous at first, not knowing what kind of person Liu Sisi's mother was, but now that she saw that Madam Wu was so amiable, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Uncle and Aunt, you are so kind. I don't know how to repay you. Please tell me what chores you need at home. I can do anything." Li Caiping hadn't felt cared for in a long time.

She was so grateful to have met such a kind family that she didn't know how to repay them. After saying that, she wanted to kowtow again.

"Alright! Daughter, let's go eat." Wu helped Li Caiping up and sat her on a stool before heading to the kitchen to serve the dishes.

Liu Sisi quickly caught up with Wu Shi and said to her with a smile, "Mom, maybe I'll have a sister-in-law soon."

Upon hearing her daughter's words, Wu looked at Liu Sifu and then at Li Caiping. She noticed that both of them were looking down at each other, seemingly lost in thought.

"You little rascal, you're so clever. You mustn't talk nonsense in front of Sister Ping'er, lest the young lady think our family has some ulterior motive, you know?"

"Okay!" Liu Sisi stuck out her tongue.

Mrs. Wu was actually very happy that her daughter had become more cheerful, which was a big improvement from her previous sullen demeanor.

After dinner, Wu arranged for Li Caiping to stay in Liu Sisi's room. There was no other way; the room was too small, so they had to make do for now.

After making the arrangements, Liu Dashi returned to his room and handed 20 taels of silver to Wu.

Madam Wu stared in disbelief at the twenty taels of silver before her. "Is this all the money our daughter got from selling the ginseng given to her by the snake spirit?"

"Yes, my daughter said she wants to use this money to buy a plot of land and build a house," Liu Dashi replied.

Wu carefully placed the 20 taels of silver into her money bag, then put it under her pillow.

If Liu Sisi had given her the 300 taels, I don't know how excited Wu would have been; she probably wouldn't have dared to sleep all night.

Liu Sisi doesn't have time to talk about money right now.

She felt that the dream she had last night was probably the original owner's resentful soul wanting her help to take revenge.

She decided to scare Li Guifen first, to make her have a nervous breakdown.

Seeing that Li Caiping was fast asleep, she got up and secretly slipped out of the room.

Then I rummaged through my online space for a while and found the card projector I bought for my little cousin. It's battery-powered and doesn't need a network. You just put the movie on it, turn it on, and you can see the image.

Liu Sisi had originally asked the merchant to make a ghost image to scare her naughty little cousin, but before she could give him the gift, she time-traveled, and now it came in handy.

She took out a flashlight and found her way to Li Guifen's room by memory.

At this time, Li Guifen and her family were already fast asleep.

Liu Sisi first went into her space, picked up cosmetics, and painted her face white. She let her hair down, painted her lips bright red, and put a long, red gummy candy on her tongue. She then cut a long piece of bed sheet into the shape of a dress and draped it over herself.

I turned on the green light of the flashlight and looked in the mirror, and I was startled by myself.

He then took out the projector, turned it on, and projected the image onto Li Guifen's wall. He then turned on the terrifying music playing in the projector and whispered in a sinister and eerie voice outside, "Give me back my life! Give me back my life!"

Li Guifen was half asleep when she heard a sound. She got up and looked at the shadow on the wall, and was startled.

Then I rubbed my eyes again, and looked again, but there was nothing there? Was I seeing things again?

She got up, opened the door, and looked outside, but there was nothing there. She must have been half asleep. She decided to go back to sleep.

Just as she lay back down to doze off for a while, she heard the sound again. This time, the shadow on the wall was closer, and the sound was a little louder.

She opened her eyes and saw Liu Sisi dressed as a white-clad female ghost, her face glowing green, muttering, "Give me back my life, give me back my life!" She screamed in terror.

She scrambled to her feet and staggered toward her mother Yang's room, crying out, "Ah, Mother, help! There's a ghost! Liu Sisi has turned into a ghost and come to take my life!"

Seeing that he had run away in fright before she could even hide in her space, Liu Sisi thought, "He's such a coward, no fun at all." She packed her things and left, planning to come back and scare him again tomorrow.

Yang was sound asleep when Li Guifen woke her up, saying that there was a ghost and that Liu Sisi was a ghost that had come to take her life.

*Smack!*

Yang was furious when her daughter woke her up, and she slapped Li Guifen across the face.

"You good-for-nothing, what are you yelling about in the middle of the night? Where are there ghosts? Go back to sleep."
