Yun Zheng and Zhou Yu Shen were childhood sweethearts with an engagement since young. As the wedding day approached, Yun Zheng was revealed to be a fake young lady. The Zhou family wanted to replac...
Chapter 439: Not so good, I spoil her.
As the night deepened, the sea breeze gently hit the windows of the yacht, making a subtle sound.
After Yun Zheng finished washing up, she changed into the silk nightgown that Fu Linghe had prepared for her. The soft fabric stuck to her skin, making her feel like she was being wrapped in tenderness.
She threw back the quilt and lay down. Fu Linghe was already leaning against the head of the bed, holding a book in his hand. He wore gold-rimmed glasses on his high nose bridge, and his eyes behind the lenses were deep and focused.
Yun Zheng leaned over, resting her head on his shoulder, her fingers unconsciously fiddling with the buttons of his pajamas.
Fu Linghe closed the book, took off his glasses and placed them on the bedside table, then looked down at her. "Aren't you sleepy yet?"
"Yeah." Yun Zheng shook her head, her voice soft, "Maybe I slept too much during the day, and now I don't feel like sleeping at all."
Fu Linghe chuckled and ran his fingers through her long hair, gently combing it. "Then let's chat for a while?"
Yun Zheng looked up at him, her eyes sparkling. She was indeed not sleepy at all. "Okay."
There was only one warm yellow wall lamp on in the room, and the light softly enveloped the two of them.
Fu Linghe placed his palm on the back of her neck, and his thumb gently stroked her skin, like a silent comfort.
"Are you happy today?" he asked.
"Happy." Yun Zheng nuzzled into his arms. "I'm really happy. I like every surprise you prepared."
Fu Linghe lowered his head and kissed the top of her head, "That's good."
Yun Zheng was silent for a while, then suddenly whispered, "It's just... I miss the babies a little bit."
Fu Linghe paused for a moment, then pinched the back of her neck, his tone tinged with jealousy, "You ungrateful little bastard, you're still thinking about someone else when you're with me?"
Yun Zheng chuckled and raised her hand to hit him, "That's our baby, how can it be considered someone else's?"
Fu Linghe grabbed her hand, placed it on his lips and kissed it, "You miss me so much after only two days of separation?"
"They're only six months old..." Yun Zheng's voice was soft, a bit coquettish, "I don't know if they're making a fuss or if they're drinking milk properly."
Fu Linghe sighed helplessly and hugged her tighter. "Let's video call them tomorrow morning, okay?"
Yun Zheng raised her face, her eyes moist, "Really?"
"When have I ever lied to you?" Fu Linghe lowered his head and nuzzled her nose. "Now go to sleep, okay?"
Yun Zheng then closed her eyes in satisfaction and snuggled into his arms.
Fu Linghe patted her back gently, as if coaxing a child, and hummed a soothing melody softly.
Yun Zheng listened to his steady heartbeat and her breathing gradually calmed down.
After an unknown amount of time, Fu Linghe felt the breathing in his arms become even and long, so he stopped and carefully adjusted his posture to make her sleep more comfortably.
He lowered his head to look at her sleeping face, his fingertips gently brushing her eyelashes, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously raised.
"Good night, Zheng Zheng." He said softly.
——
The next morning.
Sunlight poured into the room through the porthole. Yun Zheng opened her eyes drowsily and subconsciously reached towards her side, but found nothing.
She propped herself up and found that Fu Linghe was no longer in bed.
She rubbed her eyes, got out of bed, and stepped barefoot on the soft carpet.
There was a corridor outside the bedroom of the yacht. The door of the next room was ajar, and Fu Linghe's low voice could be heard faintly.
Yun Zheng pushed open the door and saw Fu Linghe sitting at the desk with a laptop spread out in front of him. There was a row of small video conference windows on the screen.
He was wearing those gold-rimmed glasses, his brows slightly furrowed, his expression focused and serious, his slender fingers tapping on the keyboard, occasionally pausing to respond.
Yun Zheng stood at the door, looking a little dazed.
The morning light shone through the window onto his profile, outlining a perfect outline. His eyes behind the lenses were as deep as ink, and his jawline was tight, revealing a somewhat inhuman coldness.
She rarely saw Fu Linghe like this. At work, he was calm, sharp, and had an unquestionable aura.
She couldn't help but whispered, "Husband?"
Fu Linghe looked up when he heard the voice, and when his gaze fell on her, the coldness in his eyes melted instantly.
He said to the other side of the screen, "Today's meeting ends here," then closed the computer, stood up and walked towards her.
"Why are you awake so early?" He raised his hand and rubbed her head, his voice unspeakably gentle.
Yun Zheng looked up at him and said, "I'll come to see you when I wake up."
Fu Linghe lowered his head and kissed her forehead. "Are you hungry? Let's go have breakfast?"
Yun Zheng nodded, but her eyes were still on his face.
Fu Linghe noticed her gaze and raised his eyebrows, "What are you looking at?"
"Do you know how you look with glasses..." Yun Zheng reached out and touched his frames, "You look so handsome."
Fu Linghe chuckled, grabbed her fingers and kissed them, "Mrs. Fu, are you bewitched by beauty?"
Yun Zheng blushed and pushed him away, "Stop being so narcissistic!"
Fu Linghe put his arm around her waist and walked out. "Let's have breakfast first, then we'll video chat with the kids."
Breakfast is ready in the yacht's restaurant.
Fresh fruits, soft waffles, steaming milk, and Yun Zheng’s favorite blueberry jam.
Fu Linghe pulled out a chair for her and poured her a glass of warm water.
"Eat slowly." He sat opposite her, his eyes always on her.
Yun Zheng took a bite of the waffle and squinted her eyes in satisfaction. "Delicious."
Fu Linghe smiled and took a napkin to wipe the corners of her mouth. "You're already a mother of two children, why are you still acting like a child?"
Yun Zheng stuck out her tongue at him, then suddenly remembered something and put down her fork. "Can we video chat now?"
Fu Linghe glanced at the time and said, "They should be awake by now."
He took out his cell phone and made a video call to his mother.
The video was quickly connected, and Shen Lanshu's kind smile appeared on the screen. "Have you two finally remembered that you have two little babies at home?"
Yun Zheng immediately leaned closer to the screen, her voice unconsciously softening, "Mom, are Xiao Shushu and Xiao Yi awake?"
"Just woke up and was crying for milk." Shen Lanshu turned the camera towards the crib.
Two little balls as delicate as jade were waving their hands and making babbling sounds.
"Ah! My babies!" Yun Zheng's eyes instantly turned red, and her fingers touched the screen unconsciously, as if she could touch the children's chubby little faces.
Fu Linghe put his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder and said to the screen, "Do you miss your daddy?"
The six-month-old twins heard the sound and suddenly became quiet, their big eyes like black grapes staring at the screen.
The elder brother, Xiaoyi, was the first to recognize his parents. He grinned and giggled, clapping the rails of the crib with his little hands.
My younger sister Xiaoshu pouted in grievance, and tears quickly filled her big eyes.
"Oh, Xiaoshu is about to cry." Mother Fu quickly picked up her sister, and the little one immediately buried her face in her grandmother's shoulder, leaving only a pair of red ears exposed.
Yun Zheng's heart was broken. "Is Xiao Shu angry with her mother?"
Mother Fu smiled and patted her grandson's back. "That's right. I looked for you guys until midnight last night, but you refused to drink milk properly."
Fu Linghe frowned when he heard this, and his fingers unconsciously stroked Yun Zheng's waistline.
In the video, Xiao Shu secretly turned half of her face, with tears hanging on her long eyelashes.
Yun Zheng was almost heartbroken, so she took the opportunity to make a face, and the little guy finally burst into laughter and stretched out his short little hands to grab the phone.
"It seems like Mom has a solution." Mother Fu smiled and adjusted the camera. "Don't worry, both children are very well behaved."
As he was speaking, little Shushu suddenly turned over in the crib, grabbed the teething biscuit next to him with lightning speed, and stuffed it into his brother's mouth accurately.
"Oh, this little rascal!" Fu's mother rushed to rescue him, and the picture shook.
Yun Zheng and Fu Linghe laughed out loud at the same time.
There was chaos on the other side of the screen for a while, and finally Fu Yanze came on to help. The old couple each held a child, and the situation finally calmed down.
After chatting for nearly an hour, until the two children began to rub their eyes and yawn, Shen Lanshu urged them to hang up, "Go and enjoy your world of two, we are at home."
After hanging up the video, Yun Zheng was still a little reluctant.
Fu Linghe pulled her into his arms and pinched her face. "Why don't you bring them with you next time?"
Yun Zheng leaned against his chest and whispered, "Then it's not just a world for two..."
Fu Linghe chuckled softly, the vibration of his chest transmitting to her, "What should we do? Mrs. Fu is so greedy. She wants a world of her own, but she can't bear to give up her child."
Yun Zheng looked up at him and blinked, "What's wrong with me being a little greedy?"
Fu Linghe lowered his head and kissed her lips, saying vaguely, "It's not that great, I spoil you."
The sea breeze blew towards me, bringing with it a salty and humid scent.
Fu Linghe sat on the recliner and let Yun Zheng sit sideways on his lap, rocking her gently like a child.
"Thank you, Mrs. Fu. I have three babies now." He whispered in her ear, "Xiao Shushu, Xiao Yi, and their mother."
Yun Zheng blushed and punched his chest, "Who wants to be a baby..."
"Isn't it?" Fu Linghe lowered his head and bit her earlobe, "Who was it that said coquettishly, 'Husband, put me to sleep' last night?"
Yun Zheng was about to defend herself, but the man blocked her words with his lips.
The sun shone on the two of them, the sea breeze blew gently, and the yacht swayed gently with the waves.
In the distance, the sea and the sky merge into one, as if there is no end.
