Chapter 5 Grass vs. Fire: The First Battle!

"Grass."

The grass sprite turned around, and a beam of green light shot straight around the corner.

"Aww—"

The Flame Wolf let out a low growl.

This is clearly an aggressive stance; the Flame Wolf crouches low, challenging the Grass Sprite.

"hastily."

The grass sprite proudly raised its head, not even glancing at the flame wolf.

Logically, Fire-type Pokémon are strong against Grass-type Pokémon, and the Flame Wolf, as an offensive Pokémon, should be a natural nemesis of Grass-type Pokémon, which should be fleeing in panic. However! Unfortunately, this Flame Wolf is just too small... It only hatched yesterday and is still a baby.

The Grass Sprite, a middle-aged pet that had been navigating human society for three years, didn't take the newly hatched Flame Wolf seriously at all.

It's only just hatched, what skills could it possibly know? And how proficient is it?

The Grass Sprite, not wanting to waste time on the Flame Wolf, prepared to charge up and launch another Poison Leaf Razor. Its human master said they wanted to dominate the exam hall, and the Grass Sprite thought that while fighting might not be enough, its age should be enough to conquer the exam hall, hahaha…

"Awooo! Awooo!"

I'm going to eat you up!

The little Flame Wolf's eyes glowed red as it raised its paws and charged straight at the Grass Sprite.

The grass sprite stirred, sensing the air fluctuations behind it. With a nimble dodge, it avoided the little flame wolf's claw attack. The sharp steel claws, carrying a gust of wind, slammed into the stone path, shattering many fragments of stone.

Seeing that its first attack missed, the little Flame Wolf immediately took advantage of the dust and debris flying around to launch a fireball at the Grass Sprite.

The Grass Sprite had been through many battles, while the little Flame Wolf on the other side was clearly a novice in combat.

It immediately used its Vine Whip attack, extending from below to perfectly evade the fireball attack and cleverly utilize the blind spot to prevent the little Flame Wolf from seeing the Grass Sprite's attack immediately.

The vine whip successfully wrapped around the little Flame Wolf's mouth, and the Grass Sprite used the momentum to rush towards the little Flame Wolf from below, unleashing a slapping attack.

"Slap! Slap! Slap! Slap!"

Leaf used both hands to deliver several hard slaps to the little Flame Wolf.

"Aww—"

The little flame wolf tried hard to open its mouth, but the leaves were too tightly wrapped around it, and it couldn't break free. It raised its paw, trying to cut the leaves apart, but the leaves turned out to be unexpectedly hard.

Seeing that the little Flame Wolf was still not behaving itself, the grass sprite stretched out its leaves and tied up all four of its limbs.

The little Flame Wolf's belly heaved, the red light in its eyes grew brighter and brighter, and its fur faintly glowed red.

The grass spirit sensed the heat emanating from the leaves, and alarm bells rang in its mind.

This little cub is a bit strange.

"Grass."

-What’s wrong with you?

The grass sprite asked the little flame wolf.

"Awooo... Awooo..."

- Hurry up... hurry up...

A soft, rustling sound came from the air.

The little Flame Wolf looked pained, and its body temperature was rising higher and higher.

The grass spirit was startled. It retracted its leaves, planted its feet in the soil, and quickly absorbed the earth's power to form a yellow-green glowing shield that covered the little flame wolf.

Cheng Huaijin's heart skipped a beat, and she felt a faint pain in the mark on her wrist. Sensing something was wrong, she focused her consciousness into the mark to check on the grass spirit's condition.

Pet: Grass Sprite

Age: 3 years old

Level: 3/30

Skills: Slap Level 2, Immovable Level 5, Vine Whip Level 4, Poison Leaf Quicksword Level 1, Forest Guardian Level 1.

What?! Another new skill has appeared?!

Cheng Huaijin took off running towards the small garden.

As soon as she ran over, she saw Cheng Woyu confronting the Grass Sprite, behind which was a dying Flame Wolf.

The Grass Sprite was completely in a protective stance, while Cheng Woyu's expression was extremely grim. Cheng Woyu tried to approach the Flame Wolf, but the Grass Sprite simply lashed out with its vine whips, preventing Cheng Woyu from getting close.

Cheng Huaijin asked breathlessly, "What happened?"

"Damn it! Damn it!"

This person fed the little brat some strange medicine! The little brat is going to burn to death!

"The grass sprite said excitedly."

"Put yourself away, you little grass sprite! What's wrong with you!" Cheng Woyu's face was unfriendly and his tone was very sharp.

Cheng Huaijin walked up to the grass spirit, bent down, and picked it up. The grass spirit had expended a lot of energy and was quite exhausted. It had only managed to hold on and prevent Cheng Woyu from taking the little flame wolf away. Upon seeing its beast tamer, it felt slightly relieved.

Seeing how tired the grass elf looked, Cheng Huaijin felt very sorry for it. She took out a sports water bottle from her pocket, popped out a straw, and let the grass elf drink some water and rest.

Cheng Woyu bypassed them and tried to hug the Flaming Wolf.

The grass sprite is about to launch an attack.

Cheng Huaijin swiftly grabbed the grass spirit, then turned and blocked Cheng Woyu's path, saying, "Wait." She looked down to reassure the grass spirit, "Don't panic, leave it to me. Do you want to go inside the marker?"

The grass sprite shook its head, climbed onto Cheng Huaijin's head, and stared at Cheng Woyu.

Cheng Huaijin packed his things, turned around, and picked up the Flaming Wolf.

This Flame Wolf was incredibly small. Smaller than any Cheng Huaijin had ever seen before. At this moment, the Flame Wolf's eyes were tightly closed, its limbs were twitching slightly from time to time, and its fur had become much duller, making it look like it was about to die.

"Don't say anything more, let's go to the pet center right now." Cheng Huaijin stopped Cheng Woyu from saying anything more. "Hurry up and call a plane!"

Cheng Woyu pursed his lips, took out his Beast Tamer communicator, and pressed the "fly" button. A few seconds later, with a "chirp," a gentle breeze bird appeared in front of the two of them.

The Gentle Bird is a flying-type pet with soft feathers and a round body. It has a gentle temperament and is very suitable for humans to ride.

Cheng Woyu swiped the communicator on the Windbird's neck ring. After a beep, he said to the Windbird, "Go to the pet center, hurry, my pet is injured."
