A modern wealthy young woman, Luo Jingyan, accidentally transmigrated to the 1970s, becoming a short-lived minor supporting character in a period novel. Her parents were framed, forcing her to take...
Luo Jingyan and her two capable assistants, Hei Hu and Pang Hu, arrived at the educated youth settlement. After returning to the house and locking the door, she was still excited from delivering supplies up the mountain and had no intention of sleeping. She sat on the kang (a heated brick bed) for a while.
Black Tiger and Fat Tiger, the two cats, lay obediently on either side of her.
Black Tiger recalled his previous discussion with Fat Tiger about motorcycles and asked Luo Jingyan, "Master, you can drive race cars, so you must be able to ride motorcycles too, right?"
"Of course, it's a piece of cake." Riding a motorcycle was incredibly easy for Luo Jingyan. She looked at Hei Hu and said, "Do you two want to see me ride a motorcycle?"
Black Tiger scratched his fluffy head with his paw: "Master, when Fatty Tiger and I saw those motorcycles before, we said we wanted to race them and see if we could outrun them."
Luo Jingyan found it quite interesting. "Okay, the motorcycles can't leave the space, so let's have a competition inside the space."
Fortunately, the roads in her space were all very smooth. They had even been specially paved with asphalt to facilitate the movement of agricultural machinery and trucks.
They entered the space together. Luo Jingyan randomly picked a motorcycle, started it up, tested its performance, and then rode it around on the country road. She felt it was pretty good and returned to the starting point.
"Fat Tiger, Black Tiger, let's have a competition."
"Yes, Master."
Black Tiger and Fat Tiger arrived at both ends of her race simultaneously, ready to start.
Luo Jingyan hadn't turned off the motorcycle; she shouted, "One, two, three, go!"
They ran off almost at the same time. At first, Black Tiger and Fat Tiger were in the lead, but Luo Jingyan gradually increased the speed of the motorcycle to the maximum. Black Tiger and Fat Tiger started to fall slightly behind her, but before long, Fat Tiger caught up and slowly overtook her.
Black Tiger was also working hard behind, closing the gap in speed with her. To Luo Jingyan's surprise, she was driving a modern vehicle, yet she lost to Fatty Tiger and Black Tiger. Fatty Tiger came in first, Black Tiger second, and she third.
After winning the game, Fat Tiger patted his round belly with his paw. This guy always wanted something delicious as a reward.
Luo Jingyan saw through its thoughts and, before it could speak, said, "You guys are amazing. I've decided to give you prizes. Well, you can suggest what kind of prizes you want. Fat Tiger won first place, so Fat Tiger, you can go first."
"I want to eat roasted lamb and drink mango juice."
Fat Tiger blurted it out without hesitation.
“Okay.” Luo Jingyan readily agreed to Pang Hu, then turned to Hei Hu and asked, “What about you, Hei Hu?”
Black Tiger glanced at Fat Tiger sideways: "I also eat barbecue, but I don't drink mango juice."
"You want to drink Erguotou," Luo Jingyan said for it.
Black Tiger quickly nodded its little head: "Master understands me best."
Luo Jingyan got off the motorcycle, took off her helmet, and hung it on the motorcycle. "Black Tiger, Fatty Tiger, let's go to the orchard to pick fruit first."
They picked not only mangoes, but also peaches and grapes, and made mango juice and peach juice. The grapes were for eating.
Then Luo Jingyan grilled lamb chops and lamb legs. She didn't eat much herself; most of it was devoured by the two cats, especially Fat Tiger. Because it wanted to eat to its heart's content, it simply enlarged its body and ate almost half of all the grilled meat, making its big belly round and bulging. After it was full, it burped several times.
The next day, after having breakfast, Zhuang Feifei planned to go up the mountain to retrieve the supplies she had left in the cave. However, before she even stepped out of the gate of the educated youth settlement, she ran into a woman in her fifties and a young farmer who looked to be in his twenties.
She assumed the two men were looking for someone else, so she didn't say anything and tried to walk around them to get out, but the woman stopped her.
"Zhuang Zhiqing, where are you all going so early in the morning?"
"I have to go out." He said, and continued walking out.
The woman quickly stopped her: "Zhuang Zhiqing, I have something to tell you, don't go yet."
Zhuang Feifei stopped, looking impatiently at the rough-skinned, dark-skinned peasant woman in front of her, her tone somewhat cold, "I don't know you. What do you want from me? Just say it."
Seeing that she was being treated badly, the woman turned around and glanced at the young man behind her. The young man gave her a wink and raised his chin, signaling her to continue.
The woman turned to Zhuang Feifei and said, "Zhuang, I am a matchmaker from this village. I've come today to ask you about a happy occasion, and I'm here to act as your matchmaker."
Although Zhuang Feifei is a bit domineering, what family doesn't have money? Last time when she built a house, she hired so many workers at once, so her family must be well-off. Her parents are either factory leaders, government officials, or military leaders. In any case, whoever marries into her family will have a bright future.
"What?"
Zhuang Feifei was taken aback, and at the same time, an even more displeased expression appeared on her face.
She originally wanted to date Lu Chengye, but with Lu Jiu'er interfering, it was too difficult. She had given up and had no plans to date a country woman here for the time being. Even if she were to look for someone, she would go back to the city and find a man who could help her.
Thinking about finding a partner, she thought of her arch-rival Luo Jingyan. She only found out later that Xue Yanchen had returned to the army. If Luo Jingyan could find a military officer as a partner, she naturally couldn't be worse than Luo Jingyan.
She glanced at the dark-skinned, tall, thin young man behind the matchmaker.
