Before Going to the Countryside in the 70s, I Used My Space to Empty Out My Enemies

A modern wealthy young woman, Luo Jingyan, accidentally transmigrated to the 1970s, becoming a short-lived minor supporting character in a period novel. Her parents were framed, forcing her to take...

Chapter 269 Encounter in the Hutong

Like the other commune members, Luo's parents worked in the fields during the day to earn work points in exchange for food rations. However, as people who had been sent down to the countryside, referred to as "stinking intellectuals" by the locals, their work was done in a separate field from that of the other commune members.

This made them feel much more at ease. If they were working with those other members, they would likely encounter those who lacked manners and would ridicule or even insult them.

Grandma Zhang, Mr. and Mrs. Luo ate together. Every now and then, Luo Jingyan would add some spiritual spring water to their water tank. Mr. and Mrs. Luo used to live in the city, but after working in the fields for many days, they didn't feel very tired.

Mr. Luo said, "I thought that since I'm used to working in the city, I would find farm work tiring and wouldn't be able to adapt. But I really don't find farm work that tiring. I remember when I was young and training in the army, I was in good physical condition and had a lot of youthful energy. Even so, at the beginning, a day of training was very tiring. Siqi, don't you think I'm still going strong and getting younger as I get older?"

Mrs. Luo smiled and said, "You're getting younger and younger. Be careful not to turn into a child again. Not only you, but I don't find farm work that tiring either. You're from the army, after all, and you've undergone rigorous training. I've always been a writer. We work together every day, and you've seen it yourself. I do almost as much work as you, and I don't feel that tired. Are we both going to turn back the clock?"

"Hahahaha." Mr. Luo laughed heartily. "I really don't know what's going on. Maybe it's because we've never done farm work before and we imagine it to be too terrible. Actually, it's not that difficult."

"Hey, you know what, farm work isn't tiring at all, and I feel like I'm sleeping much better than before. Do you think it has anything to do with the soil and water here? Maybe the soil and water here are good for people."

"I don't know if it has anything to do with the water and soil. I think it might be because you had a lot of things to do and a lot of pressure when you were working at the school. Now you don't have to deal with so many things, so you've relaxed and your sleep quality has naturally improved."

As she was speaking, Mrs. Luo suddenly remembered something and said to Mr. Luo, "Zhenhua, have you noticed that Mom looks more energetic than when we came? The most important thing for the elderly is their energy and spirit, and I think she is much more energetic than before."

“I can see that too. Mom has been here alone for the past two or three years. No one helps her with her daily life, no one cares about her or talks to her, and no one helps her keep her company. Maybe it’s because we came here and kept Mom company that her mood has improved. Plus, Jingyan always brings her vegetables, meat, rice and noodles, so her quality of life has improved, and her health has improved.”

"To be honest, we have to thank our daughter for everything," Mrs. Luo sighed.

As soon as Cao Cao arrived, Luo Jingyan appeared. No sooner had Luo's mother finished speaking than Luo Jingyan appeared.

"Dad, Mom. I just heard you talking about me."

Mr. Luo smiled and said, "We were just talking about our daughter, and here she is."

Luo's mother pulled Luo Jingyan aside. "Jingyan, your father and I were just talking about how we don't know if it's because the soil and water here are good for us or something else, but neither of us felt tired at all while doing farm work here. My sleep quality is better than before, and your father said that doing farm work isn't tiring either. Even your grandmother is more energetic than before."

She looked at her daughter and saw that she hadn't become darker or rougher because of going to the countryside; in fact, she seemed even prettier than before. Her son had taken good care of her.

Could Luo Jingyan tell them that it was because she gave them the spiritual spring water?

That's definitely something I can't say.

"Mom, the mountains, water, and air here are beautiful. The key is that you don't have to work in the city or bear the pressure of work. When you're relaxed, your health will naturally improve."

"Jingyan, whether it's because of the change in environment or because we're relaxed, we know that if it weren't for your continued support, we don't know what would have become of us."

Luo Jingyan has both space and resources, so of course she wants to give her parents a better life.

"Mom, you, Dad, and Grandma should keep this mindset, and you'll grow younger with each passing year."

Grandma Zhang was sleeping in the house when she vaguely woke up and heard Luo Jingyan's voice. She came over to the house, and the four of them sat together chatting. Grandma Zhang's voice was now full of energy and she was very lively.

It was almost noon, so Luo Jingyan didn't need to rush back to her lodgings. Her father had cooked lunch, and she ate before leaving the cowshed.

Li Hongying had been brutally beaten by Liu Aiguo and rested on the kang (a heated brick bed) for several days before she finally felt better.

She has learned to behave herself now, and tries her best not to provoke Liu's mother and Liu Aiguo before she gets Zhuang Feifei's space.

Although the mother and son thought Li Hongying was easy to bully, they saw that Li Hongying was always timid and obedient in front of them, so they stopped doing anything to her.

Two or three days later, Li Hongying's injuries were completely healed, and she returned to a state similar to that before she was injured.

Her first decision was, of course, to find Zhuang Feifei and find a way to get her last drop of blood, thereby obtaining the space inside Zhuang Feifei and the incredibly rich resources within it.

She had a miscarriage a month earlier and was in postpartum confinement. Later, she was beaten by Liu Aiguo and was bedridden. With these two things combined, she had spent more than a month on the kang (a heated brick bed), and had no idea what was happening outside.

After she was able to walk, she would go out to sit at the front gate for a while and chat with the neighbors, mainly to find out what had happened in the outside world over the past month or so, especially about Zhuang Feifei.
