Chapter 228: My Little Artist

Ye Liyuan placed the notebook and pens in front of little one and said softly, "Ann, lunch is still a while away. You can play with these."

"Thank you, Second Uncle~" Qin Sui’an tilted her little face up, her round eyes shining.

She was no stranger to drawing. When she "ran away from home" before, she left messages for her family through drawings.

There was a box of various colored pens in front of her. Qin Sui’an carefully examined them, then glanced at the bar counter where her third uncle and the chefs were busy. She reached out her little hand and picked one of the pens, occasionally looking at everyone busy while drawing on the notebook.

Ye Liyuan held her and watched her draw. At first, he just watched to see what little one would draw, smiling gently. But gradually, his expression changed to one of surprise, and he became increasingly focused on watching little one draw.

Qin Sui’an occasionally lowered her head and sometimes lifted it, seeming busier than her third uncle and the chefs preparing lunch. Her hands never stopped, and even when they did, it was just to switch to another color of pen.

By the time lunch was almost ready, little one finished her drawing before them.

She happily pursed her lips, carefully putting all the pens back into the box and picking up the notebook. Then she looked up at her second uncle with her head tilted, "Second Uncle, is Ann’s drawing pretty?"

Ye Liyuan stared at the notebook in her small hands for what seemed like a while, as if in shock, before coming to his senses. "It’s beautiful."

Hearing the praise, Qin Sui’an didn’t show a happy expression but blinked in confusion. "Why has Second Uncle been staring at Ann’s drawing?"

"I just think Ann is really talented," Ye Liyuan couldn’t hide his surprise in his tone. "Has Ann learned to draw before?"

"Hmm?" Qin Sui’an thought for a moment and shook her little head. "Nope~ But Ann has drawn before! Drawings for Daddy’s messages~"

Speaking of which, she felt a little embarrassed. "Ann can’t write yet..."

"Ann hasn’t started school yet, but she’ll learn," Ye Liyuan reassured her, ruffling her little head before looking back at the drawing.

Ye Liyuan wasn’t particularly skilled at drawing himself. He watched little one complete the drawing stroke by stroke, and what surprised him the most was that every stroke she made seemed deliberate. It was as if she knew exactly how to complete the drawing from the first stroke, and there wasn’t a single mistake.

Ye Rongyuan finally finished preparing lunch, though only one dish was his masterpiece.

He took off his apron and instructed the other chefs to take his masterpiece along with theirs to the top floor ward.

"Oh, Ann, I saw you’ve been busy just now. What were you busy with?" Ye Rongyuan quickly came up behind little one, bending down to take a closer look.

He immediately pointed excitedly and said, "This is me! So, Ann was drawing me!"

Ye Liyuan gave him a speechless glance and added, "And the other chefs, not just you."

Ignoring Ye Liyuan’s remark, Ye Rongyuan took out his phone and quickly snapped a photo of the drawing. "Ann drew me so well! It’s obviously me! So handsome!"

He still had some conscience and didn’t just take a photo of his own part but captured the entire drawing. Then he promptly posted it on his social media with the caption: [My little artist at home.]
