Chapter 314: Still an Acquaintance

Last night, Qin Fujia had asked He Yan to gather some information on Boyce, including Boyce’s temporary residence address in A City.

After getting into a taxi, Qin Fujia gave the driver the address.

Half an hour later, the taxi stopped at what appeared to be an ordinary residential area. The driver turned to the distinguished man in the backseat and said politely, "Sir, we’ve arrived."

Qin Fujia looked out the window, thought for a moment, and then got out of the car, heading toward the entrance of the residential area.

The security management in this area wasn’t strict; the guard at the kiosk merely glanced up at Qin Fujia before returning to his phone.

Qin Fujia walked straight in, observing his surroundings.

The area near the entrance had apartment buildings about five or six stories high. After walking a bit further, he reached a four-lane road. Across the road were several single-story villas.

At first glance, it seemed there was no one guarding the area, but all the streetlights were equipped with cameras, ensuring there were no blind spots.

Qin Fujia didn’t go any closer and stopped at the edge of the apartment area.

At that moment, four black luxury cars suddenly emerged from the underground parking garage on the opposite side and parked in front of one of the single-story villas.

Qin Fujia stepped aside, pretending to wait for someone downstairs, while keeping an eye on the movements of the four black luxury cars.

After a few minutes, a tall figure emerged from the villa and got into one of the cars.

All four black luxury cars started simultaneously, leaving the villa’s entrance and driving past the road where Qin Fujia stood.

Only when the black luxury cars had exited the residential area did Qin Fujia slowly lift his gaze, watching the cars drive away.

Though he had only seen a distant view, he could tell that Boyce was indeed the person he suspected. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

He had not mistaken the identity; his guess was correct. To make Dong Zhenhong so fearful as to seek his help, and the ambitious Boyce, turned out to be someone he knew.

Boyce was indeed him.

Qin Sui’an, the little one, slept until the sun was high. When she sleepily opened her round eyes, she saw her father sitting by the bed, looking through documents she couldn’t understand.

She lay still in bed, staring at her father’s profile, her little lips forming a smile.

Qin Haochen seemed to sense her wakefulness, turned his head, and placed the documents on the bedside table. He bent down and picked up the newly awake little one.

"Ann, good morning." Qin Haochen kissed her forehead and gently combed through her messy hair.

Qin Sui’an nuzzled her face against her father’s chest, her soft voice a murmur, "Daddy, good morning~"

Perhaps from riding the bike yesterday, the little one was completely worn out. Qin Haochen, worried that she might be too tired or uncomfortable after waking up, had stayed home to be with her instead of going to the office.

Qin Haochen observed the little one’s face closely. Her fair, tender cheeks were flushed, and she felt warm and soft coming out from the cozy bed.

He couldn’t help but kiss her soft face again, looking at her with affection, and said gently, "Let’s wash up first and then have breakfast."

"Okay~" Qin Sui’an nodded obediently.

The little one didn’t realize how late she had slept until she finished washing her face and brushing her teeth, and changed into a pretty new dress. Only then did she notice the sun was already quite bright outside.

She blinked her round eyes and asked, "Daddy, don’t you have to go to work today?"

"I’ll go in the afternoon." Qin Haochen adjusted her dress and carried her out of the bedroom, heading downstairs.

Qin Sui’an wrapped her small arms around her father’s neck, her happiness about getting to spend more time with him evident on her face.

Suddenly, she remembered something, her smile fading slightly as she asked softly, "Daddy, is it because Ann woke up late that you didn’t go to work?"

The little one didn’t want to delay her father’s work.

Qin Haochen shook his head without hesitation, "No, it’s because Daddy wanted to take it easy."

"Oh~" Qin Sui’an sighed in relief and then earnestly corrected him, "Daddy didn’t slack off, Daddy was reading important documents! Ann saw!"

Qin Haochen smiled and couldn’t help but laugh.

Old Mrs. Qin was in the living room reading the newspaper when she vaguely heard her granddaughter’s soft voice coming from the stairs. She immediately put down the newspaper and went outside.

Seeing her granddaughter coming down, she greeted her warmly, "Good morning, Ann~"

"Good morning~" Qin Sui’an waved her small hand, "Good morning, Grandma~"

"How did you sleep last night, Ann?" Old Mrs. Qin asked with a smile.

Qin Sui’an thought for a moment and nodded, "I slept well~"

"Ha ha ha... That’s good." Old Mrs. Qin was considering whether to let Qin Yanyi skip the hospital visit since she was worried that the little one’s late waking might mean something was wrong. Seeing her granddaughter’s cute appearance, she finally felt reassured.

Qin Sui’an looked around and asked, "Grandma, where’s Grandpa? Is he still asleep?"

"He’s up. Your Grandpa went to practice riding a bicycle." Old Mrs. Qin glanced at the time, "He’s been practicing for over an hour. I don’t know if he’s learned how to turn around yet."

Hearing about the bicycle, Qin Sui’an’s face lit up with excitement. Her bright eyes sparkled as she looked at her father.

Though she didn’t say anything, her big, round eyes seemed to express all her thoughts.

Qin Haochen smiled lightly, "Ann, we’ll ride the bicycle after breakfast."

"Okay~" Qin Sui’an immediately nodded, "Breakfast~ breakfast~"

Seeing her eager, Old Mrs. Qin smiled and said, "No hurry, take your time. Ann’s bicycle is still at the door, it hasn’t run away."

Old Mrs. Qin watched them head to the dining room before turning to leave the castle.

As she exited, she saw her eldest grandson, Qin Fujia, returning.

She was somewhat surprised, "Fujia, you’re back so early today?"

"Grandma, not busy today." Qin Fujia glanced toward the castle, "Has Ann woken up?"

"She just woke up. Her father is taking her to breakfast." Old Mrs. Qin looked at him, "What’s the matter? Do you need to see your father?"

Qin Fujia nodded slightly and replied, "Grandma, don’t worry. It’s nothing serious."

Old Mrs. Qin smiled.

After the little one finished breakfast, Old Mrs. Qin planned to ride the bicycle with her to find her grandfather who was still practicing.

Qin Haochen watched the little one leave, and once her small figure disappeared from view, he turned to Qin Fujia and asked, "What’s the matter? You need to see me for something?"
