Beloved One of the Prestigious Household

Three-and-a-half-year-old little girl, also known as Ann, lived a life of scarcity and hardship in an orphanage, where even a single steamed bun could lead to beatings and scoldings from the headma...

Chapter 401: That’s Different

If it were just to check information about Ye Corporation, it would be difficult to uncover anything, especially since Qin Sui’an was primarily with the Ye family there. It would be even harder to get a clear picture unless the Ye family was willing to turn a blind eye.

Clearly, He Yan was able to investigate so quickly because he had the Ye family’s tacit approval.

On matters concerning little one, the two families had a mutual understanding.

After reading through all of He Yan’s messages, Qin Haochen furrowed his brow slightly, feeling a bit puzzled.

It didn’t seem like anything was amiss.

When exactly did little one stop hearing the inner thoughts of so many people? And under what circumstances could she hear the thoughts of others?

Qin Haochen intensely disliked this unknown factor regarding little one; it made him feel uneasy and unable to rest easy.

He read He Yan’s messages again and suddenly noticed that Ye Corporation had held a morning meeting today.

Old Mr. Ye and Ye Rongyuan were present, and during their morning meeting, Old Mrs. Ye had been in the office with little one.

Qin Haochen remained silent for a while before putting away his phone.

Perhaps he had guessed correctly.

---

Qin Sui’an had a fragrant and sound sleep, and as she stirred in her blankets, she heard the faint sound of papers rustling.

The little one froze in place.

As if confirming she wasn’t hearing things, after a few seconds, her messy little head cautiously peeked out from under the blankets.

Qin Sui’an blinked her big round eyes, and in the reflection of her dark, shiny eyes, she saw a familiar silhouette.

Her mouth immediately curled up, and even the disobedient strands of hair on her head reflected her happiness.

Qin Haochen sensed a gaze resting on him from behind; when he turned to look, he saw little one propped up on the pillow, tilting her little head to look at him.

He instinctively smiled, closing the documents in his hands and placing them on the bedside table, then pulled the adorable little one into his arms, saying, "Ann, good morning!"

"Good morning, Daddy~" Qin Sui’an rubbed her little face against her dad’s chest, then lifted her small face, her clear eyes sparkling, "Daddy hasn’t gone to work yet?"

Qin Haochen patiently explained, "Hmm, I can go a bit later this morning. After having breakfast with Ann, Daddy will go to work."

Even though it was just a one or two-hour delay, little one was still very happy, pumping her small fist and cheering, "Yay~"

Qin Haochen’s eyes were filled with affection; he didn’t linger too long, afraid of making little one’s stomach hungry, and he carried her to the bathroom.

After completing their morning routine and changing into a clean, pretty new dress, Qin Haochen took her downstairs for breakfast. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Little one had slept quite a while; by now, it was past the time for school and work, and even Old Mr. and Mrs. Qin had gotten up and were leisurely walking around Bay Villa.

In the dining room, it had become a space just for the father and daughter.

This suited Qin Haochen perfectly.

He first fed little one her breakfast, and once she had eaten a fair amount, he casually brought up, "Did you feel bored yesterday while accompanying your uncle to work?"

With a mouthful of silky egg custard, Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes, and after swallowing the delicious egg custard, she curiously asked, "Daddy, what does ’bored’ mean? Ann doesn’t understand."

Little one was only three and a half, and some vocabulary was unfamiliar to her.

Qin Haochen smiled gently, saying, "It means whether it’s very uninteresting and not fun."

Fearing little one wouldn’t quite understand, he paused and added, "If your uncle goes to a meeting or is busy with work, then he can’t accompany you, will you be alone?"

This time, the meaning was clear enough, and Qin Sui’an immediately understood her dad’s words.

She shook her little head, "Daddy, Ann won’t be bored. Uncle and grandpa are busy and can’t accompany Ann, but there’s grandma! Grandma said she doesn’t have a meeting or anything, she’ll stay with Ann."

Qin Haochen realized his earlier guess was correct.

Just to be safe, he pretended not to understand and asked, "So, has grandma been with you the whole time?"

"Yes!" Qin Sui’an nodded vigorously.

Qin Haochen breathed a sigh of relief.

If that’s the case, then he could rest easy.

Old Mrs. Qin had instructed the bodyguards to inform her when Ann got up.

After receiving the report from the bodyguards, Old Mr. and Mrs. Qin finished their morning stroll and returned to the castle.

Just as Qin Sui’an finished her breakfast, the two elders of the Qin family entered the dining room right on time.

Just looking at her little granddaughter’s adorable back, Old Mrs. Qin couldn’t help but smile, cheerfully saying, "Ann, good morning!"

Qin Sui’an turned her head towards the entrance of the dining room, her round eyes curving into little crescents as she sweetly called, "Grandma~ Grandpa~ Good morning~"

Old Mr. Qin no longer needed a cane and walked briskly, quickly reaching his little granddaughter’s side, "Has Ann eaten her fill?"

Qin Sui’an patted her round little belly, "I’m full~"

Old Mrs. Qin approached her, gently ruffling her hair, "Ann, tonight we’ll attend Bai Zhou’s birthday banquet; let’s go buy a new dress later."

Qin Sui’an furrowed her little brows in confusion, "Grandma, Ann still has many new dresses that haven’t been worn."

Her wardrobe was overflowing; ever since returning home, she had worn a different outfit each day, and there were still many new dresses left unworn.

Besides Old Mr. and Mrs. Qin occasionally buying their precious granddaughter new clothes, Qin Sui’an’s six brothers often bought new clothes for their sister, and her biological father, Qin Haochen, bought without restraint.

Old Mrs. Qin shook her head with a smile, "The dress for the banquet is different from the everyday dresses."

Qin Sui’an earnestly recalled the previous banquets she had attended.

Her grandma was right; not only were the dresses she wore different, but even her family’s outfits at the banquet were also not the same as usual.

Old Mr. Qin noticed his little granddaughter’s small expression and said with a smile, "Let’s go buy a new dress later; it just so happens that we don’t have anything else to do today."

Qin Sui’an obediently nodded, "Okay~"

Hearing their conversation, Qin Haochen waited for them to decide where to buy the dress before saying, "I’ll go with you."

He had almost forgotten how long it had been since he went out shopping for clothes with little one.

Old Mr. Qin was the first to speak up to decline, "Aren’t you going to Qin Corporation?"

His tone was not very friendly, sounding as if he was worried another person would compete for his precious granddaughter’s attention.
