No one knows when it began—
But the world was split in two.
Those in the Upper City live in the sunlight, on vast lands, warm and free.
Those in the Lower City survive in a cram...
Xu Jian lowered his body even lower, and his breathing became noticeably heavier than before.
"So... you really think so."
Ling Mo seemed even happier: "You and the teacher...are really quite different!"
Xu Jian froze.
Ling Mo didn't continue to humiliate him, but waved his hand: "Go down."
Xu Jian looked up suddenly, not knowing what Ling Mo meant.
What he saw was Ling Mo's eyes full of contempt.
"Pass the order down. Kill Xu Jiang at all costs."
Ling Mo gave the order directly: "As for the troops going down to the city, if they are willing to be killed, just give them a few more cities to kill."
Xu Jian looked at Ling Mo in disbelief.
He really didn't expect this decision.
Ling Mo really didn't care about other cities, but how could such an important decision be made so hastily?
"If those people from the lower city really threaten me this way this time, then next time, this will become my weakness."
Ling Mo put his hands behind his back and said, "It just so happens that through this incident, I have to make my attitude clearer."
"Whoever I want to kill must die."
"I-I understand."
Xu Jian didn't understand, but he didn't dare say it out loud.
He slowly moved out and passed on orders according to Ling Mo's instructions.
Ling Mo in the room recalled what Xu Kui had said to him.
"As an emperor, you can use two different methods to gain the loyalty of those who depend on you."
"Or, let them toast you."
"Or, make them fear you."
Ling Mo remembered that he chose the latter without hesitation.
