Before I even entered the ward, I could hear laughter and cheerful chatter inside.

A fragrant aroma wafted in, and he peered through the glass—sure enough, it was that persistent woman!

Wei Sibei, already irritated by his stomach pain, pushed open the door and said in an unfriendly tone, "What are you doing here?"

He went home to change his clothes, but she arrived earlier than him.

Ye Chuyi smiled and shook the spoon in her hand, piling a generous amount of braised meat on top of the rice: "Here to deliver takeout?"

Mother Wei laughed again: "This child, so mischievous. Auntie is telling you, I've missed you so much."

"Hehe, eat more if you want to." She fed the spoonful of food into Wei's mother's mouth.

The caregiver also said that Wei's mother had a particularly good appetite today and had already eaten a large bowl of food. Miss Ye was feeding her bite by bite, and so on.

Mother Wei also called out to Wei Sibei, "You should eat too, there's some for you. Sit down, you silly son, what are you standing for?"

Wei Sibei plopped down on the stool with a wide, sweeping motion, and asked in a low voice, "You're lying to me again, aren't you? You've learned this trick of pretending to be a middle-aged man, haven't you?"

Ye Chuyi, acting like a perfect wife and mother, had already opened the untouched box for him, scooped out a spoonful, and stuffed it into his mouth without saying a word: "If I said I made it, you definitely wouldn't eat it. Since you've already eaten, you have to eat now."

The iron spoon hit his front tooth. Wei Sibei frowned and tried to dodge, but out of the corner of his eye he saw his mother watching them with a smile, so he obediently opened his mouth wide and ate.

Wei's mother had poor hearing and couldn't hear what they were saying, so she just thought it was a young couple flirting.

It has to be said, her cooking was really delicious. In front of his mother, Wei Sibei handed over the bowl. The gauze on his hand was gone, replaced by a flesh-colored bandage. He clenched his fist, afraid that his mother would notice.

Ye Chuyi was always very good at reading people's minds. He only asked her for a condiment, and she guessed that it was something Wei's mother wanted to eat. Not only did she guess correctly, but she also showed it with her actions.

Just like many times before, whenever he wanted to see her, or even just thought of her, she would appear in front of him.

The more this happened, the angrier he became. He felt waves of nausea rising within him, so he pushed the bowl away, pressed a fist to his lips, and desperately tried to suppress it.

Ye Chuyi sat down between the two without making a sound, blocking Wei Sibei's face so that Wei's mother wouldn't see him.

After they finished eating and cleaned up, Wei's mother asked Wei Sibei to see her off.

Wei Sibei reluctantly escorted her to the elevator, then waved his hand dismissively, saying, "You're a grown woman, go back by yourself. I'm going down for a smoke."

As he spoke, he quickly walked down the steps.

Just as Ye Chuyi pressed the down arrow key, she saw two people with limpses walking towards her from the opposite direction.

One had his arm around the other's shoulder, clutching his chest, and when he saw her, he was also taken aback.

Ye Chuyi blinked: "You two... how come you're so close?"

What's going on? He Muchen brought Wei Bowen to see a doctor?

Upon seeing her, He Muchen shoved Wei Bowen's arm aside and said, "Sister Chuyi, what are you doing here? Are you feeling unwell? Let me see."

He pulled her around in a circle, and Ye Chuyi couldn't help but laugh: "No, no, I just came to see a friend."

Wei Bowen cried out "Ouch!" and leaned against the wall, his expression pained: "Chu Yi, it hurts so much. The doctor said the wound has reopened."

"Huh?" Chu Yi went over to help him up. "Come on, sit down. Is it serious? Do you need to be hospitalized again?"

"No need to be hospitalized, they're calling numbers over there. He Muchen, you might as well go and get it for him." Wei Sibei had returned at some point and stood in front of Ye Chuyi.

She used the same trick again, just like eight years ago. Every time after a boxing match, if her little nephew lost, he would pretend to be sick and call her over.

He Muchen had no suspicions and obediently went to fetch the medicine.

Wei Sibei turned around and lifted the gauze on Wei Bowen's chest, causing him to grimace in pain.

Ye Chuyi tried to mediate, saying, "He is really badly injured."

"Really?" Wei Sibei twisted his neck, his eyes bloodshot. "Isn't he already able to jump around and celebrate your birthday? My mother is still lying down and can't move."

To be fair, Wei Bowen should call his mother "Grandma," and logically, he should have visited her. However, during his hospitalization, he never went to the upstairs ward even once.

After saying that, Wei Sibei grabbed Ye Chuyi's wrist and entered the elevator.

The moment the elevator doors closed, He Muchen ran back from the other end of the corridor, bewildered: "No, no doctor called our number?"

Ye Chuyi quickly said, "You should go back first. It's all a misunderstanding. I'll come find you tomorrow."

He Muchen and Wei Bowen looked at each other, unsure who this "you" referred to.

"You're not allowed to look for it." Wei Sibei persisted. "I said you're not allowed to look for it, didn't you hear me, you woman?"

"I didn't hear you!" She shook off his hand. Wei Sibei yelled at He Muchen, who was still standing there in a daze, "Hey, your girlfriend's been taken away like that, and you're still spacing out?"

The sound was cut off by the elevator doors. Ye Chuyi slapped him hard across the face: "Are you ever going to stop?"

Wei Sibei said disdainfully, "Idiot, you can't even understand how to diagnose a patient."

"...Everyone has a first time. People with good health can't avoid coming to the hospital on their own, right? Unlike you, who's a regular at the hospital." After saying that, Ye Chuyi moved a little further away from him.

Hearing her speak up for that young man, and with his abdominal cramps returning, Wei Sibei said coldly, "He doesn't even know basic life skills. How can he take care of you? He's giving up being a princess to become someone else's mother."

"Then why did you come back? Didn't you say you weren't going to see me off?"

“Even if I don’t see you off, I’ll have to figure out when you get back before I go up, otherwise my mom will ask you again.” Wei Sibei let out a couple of suppressed breaths, his voice trailing off. “I might as well see you off.”

After speaking, he leaned against the wall without making a sound, his face tense and silent. Ye Chuyi looked at him a couple more times, genuinely puzzled.

Upon reaching the second basement level, the elevator doors opened. Just as Wei Sibei was about to step out, his lower abdomen convulsed as if in a spasm. Caught off guard, he let out a muffled groan.

Ye Chuyi finally stopped her icy expression and asked, "Can you still walk?"

Wei Sibei's eyes held a dark and distant look as he stared at the hand that had just helped Wei Bowen: "I don't need your help. What's our relationship? Don't let your other men see this."

Ye Chuyi continued to cross her arms and followed behind him leisurely to the parking space.

Wei Sibei turned his back to her, slowed his pace, and muttered under his breath, "He's really not going to help me up anymore, damn it!"

Ye Chuyi's gaze lingered on his stomach before she asked slowly, "Are you pregnant?"

Wei Sibei remained silent.

Why is she so sensitive?

That's true. She's gotten countless men pregnant; you can tell he's pregnant just by looking at him.

Once inside the car, Wei Sibei took a few deep breaths and lit a cigarette. This was the only way he could think of to relieve the pain.

Ye Chuyi, sitting in the passenger seat, was inexplicably furious: "Turn it off."

Wei Sibei immediately took the cigarette away, but then remembered why he had listened to her and tried to put it back in his mouth.

For some reason, Ye Chuyi was unusually irritable today. She snatched the lighter and threw it directly into the trash can.

However, my aim was a bit off, and I missed.

Wei Sibei pointed at her: "Littering."

Ye Chuyi got out of the car and threw it in again, the lighter making two "thump-thump" sounds on the empty metal trash can.

"Smoking while pregnant? Aren't you afraid of ruining Miss Zhu's baby?"

Wei Sibei asked in confusion, "How do you know about Zhu Xiaohan?"

Ye Chuyi didn't even look at him, and casually said, "Last time I came to see Auntie, she called me 'Xiaohan,' so I knew."

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that she was a member of his club and a top female boxer.

Don't you think it could be yours?

"Impossible." Ye Chuyi said firmly.

Wei Sibei laughed angrily, "You have so little confidence?"

"It's not that I lack confidence in myself, it's that I lack confidence in you."

·

The boxing ring was filled with the mixed smells of tobacco and sweat. Xenon lights cast jagged shadows through the cobwebs on the ceiling, illuminating the dark brown stains on the ground. Each rub of the soles of shoes would bring up tiny scabs.

At the entrance, bodyguards were all dressed in black suits and ties, their headset wires snaking into their collars.

The walls were covered in graffiti, and on the ring, two shirtless men were engaged in their third round. Their jaws, clenched tightly with their mouthguards, were sharp and defined, and beads of sweat sprayed out in arcs with each punch.

A sudden spin, a dodge, and the boxing gloves clashed. Within seconds, one of them conceded defeat.

The crowd below was huge, and the cheers were deafening. Suddenly, someone smashed a beer bottle against the scoreboard, and the "KO" sign on the electronic screen instantly became foamy.

Wei Sibei took off his mask, looked at his opponent who had been knocked to the ground, and felt it was all so boring.

None of them are good enough to fight.

I've worked up a sweat and fought so many battles, but why can't I get rid of this baby in my belly?

It hurts, it really hurts.

He increasingly channeled this pain into power, furiously striking down his opponents one by one.

Since she won't acknowledge it anyway, why should I keep it?

Suddenly, one of my men came over and said that someone had come to investigate.

When Wei Sibei turned around, he bumped into Ye Chuyi, who was wearing a beige trench coat and had an aura of 2.8 meters tall.

Apart from the stage, the venue was shrouded in mysterious darkness, and it was rare to see her dressed in such light colors, so spotless.

Her slightly curled bangs were tinged with a halo under the bright white light. She was still wearing those white sneakers, radiating confidence.

Someone recognized her and whistled at her.

Ye Chuyi was somewhat famous online. Whenever the bureau needed publicity, she, as the face of the organization, would naturally step in. After a few videos were posted, many people in the comments section had seen her fight in the street and subdue bullies, and she quickly gained a million followers.

Naturally, Wei Sibei is quite famous, just not as widely known. Some people are secretly checking on their phones to see who has more followers.

A person squeezed out from the crowd and waved his hand repeatedly: "Misunderstanding, misunderstanding, Miss Ye, this way please."

Ye Chuyi recognized him; he had been following Wei Sibei for many years. Everyone called him Xiao Ji, the kind of person you couldn't find in a crowd.

Xiao Ji glared fiercely in the direction of the whistle.

He was quite perceptive, knowing that Ye Chuyi had come in plain clothes because she was probably planning to get back together with the boss. Even if she wasn't, she wasn't there to investigate.

He knew clearly what had happened eight years ago, and Ye Chuyi later learned that Wei Sibei had been framed. Over the years, while staying in China, he had heard quite a bit about Ye Chuyi's efforts to help Wei Sibei.

Everyone says that Wei Sibei grew up in a warehouse of underground boxing matches, so how clean could he be?

Xiao Ji brought her a plate of fruit and a cup of coffee: "I don't know what's wrong with the boss today, he's so angry. We both got into a bad fight today."

Wei Sibei stepped down from the stage, walked to Ye Chuyi's side, took a towel to wipe his sweat, and acted as if he couldn't see her.

The girls who had just witnessed his victory and screamed wildly surrounded him as soon as he came down.

One of them hugged him affectionately and kissed him on the cheek.

Wei Sibei was somewhat disgusted, glancing intentionally or unintentionally at Ye Chuyi. Seeing that her expression was normal and she wasn't looking in his direction at all, his eyes became even more gloomy.

The girl pulled a boy into the crowd and said with a smile, "My friend wants Miss Ye's WeChat, could you give it to me?"

This person was probably almost 2 meters tall. Wei Sibei had noticed him on stage earlier. He was as thin as a bamboo pole, and his features looked like those of mixed race.

"Her?" Wei Sibei narrowed his eyes. "She already has a child."

The two were speechless. Wasn't Ye Chuyi always portrayed as single online?

As Wei Sibei walked forward, the crowd automatically parted to make way for him.

He walked up to Ye Chuyi and pulled her up from her chair: "What's wrong with you? How come you're still drinking coffee?"

Ye Chuyi looked at him like he was crazy, and tried to shake off his hand, but she couldn't shake it off no matter what she did.

Wei Sibei: "Didn't I tell you to restrain yourself? Coffee is bad for the fetus."

Everyone gasped in shock.

"Are you sick? Are you out of your mind? Did you forget to take your medicine?" Ye Chuyi felt that she could understand each word he said individually, but she couldn't understand what they meant when put together.

She learned a hard lesson from not knowing how to curse. The worst she could do was to call the other person "sick," which was far less satisfying than Wei Sibei's foul mouth.

Everyone held their breath; the place had never been so quiet.

Wei Sibei continued, "You're about to become a mother, and you're still so unsteady. You sit here and keep a close eye on things!"

Wei Sibei pressed her back into her seat, put the hood back on, and nimbly stepped onto the ring, randomly choosing an opponent.

Ye Chuyi was still in shock and hadn't come to her senses yet. She subconsciously waved her hand at everyone: No, I didn't.

Xiao Ji immediately tried to lighten the mood, jumping around in front of everyone: "Watch the game! Watch the game! Turn around, everyone!"

Ye Chuyi's face flushed red and then paled. Thanks to Xiao Ji's intervention, the audience in the venue stopped staring at her, though some whispered among themselves, "Look how tight her waistline is, she doesn't look like one at all—"

"Exactly, exactly, you're not showing yet, are you?"

"Why are you so angry, boss? The child is his."

Ye Chuyi suddenly realized what was happening and looked up at the stage, only to see that Wei Sibei was in trouble.

Xiao Ji had just handed him a bottle of energy drink. He took only one sip, and his stomach started to feel acidic. He bent over and gagged, his face turning pale.

Ye Chuyi sighed inwardly as a large crowd surged forward. She went over as well, but only watched from the outside.

Wei Sibei spotted her at a glance and pulled her into his arms.

A new round is about to begin, and Ye Chuyi tries to pull him off the stage against his force.

Wei Sibei frowned immediately, and the corners of his mouth drooped slightly.

Ye Chuyi wouldn't let go, shouting something loudly.

"What are you saying? It's too noisy, I can't hear anything!"

Ye Chuyi couldn't hear what he was saying; her gaze was fixed on his lower abdomen as she shook her head repeatedly, saying, "Get down!"

Wei Sibei tilted his head and looked at her for a while, then suddenly understood. He obediently flipped off the stage, and even walked with his legs spread apart in a rather pretentious manner, needing her to help him.

Everyone was completely speechless. They wanted to look this way, but they didn't dare.

Ascending the spiral staircase reveals a unique spot. The private rooms are elegantly decorated, clean and tidy, like a high-rise building standing next to an old house that hasn't been demolished.

Ye Chuyi was very familiar with this place; it hadn't changed a bit in eight years.

The two sat in the VIP room watching others box. Wei Sibei rolled a ball on his stomach and played with it, even tucking it under his clothes and gesturing wildly, deliberately turning his back to Ye Chuyi.

He stopped provoking Ye Chuyi, but if Ye Chuyi peeled a grape for him, he would excitedly take her hand and touch her stomach, without any restraint.

"Mine?" Ye Chuyi finally asked when she saw that his expression had calmed down.

Wei Sibei didn't answer immediately, but paused.

So that's tacit agreement? Ye Chuyi retorted, "Why do you insist that I'm pregnant? You didn't even see how they were looking at me."

Wei Sibei retorted, "When did I say you were pregnant?"

Ye Chuyi's breathing became rapid, her eyelashes fluttering rapidly like startled wings, like a restless little lark: "You just said I can't drink coffee, yes, yes, that's not good, that's not what you meant, what did you mean?"

Wei Sibei shrugged: "What, are the words 'fetus' too hot to say? Besides, think carefully about what I just said. Did I say anything wrong?"

Ye Chuyi thought about it carefully, and suddenly caught a glimpse of a smile in his eyes. Why did she feel like she had fallen into his trap again? Was she looking silly as she thought about it so seriously?

Wei Sibei tapped the back of one hand against the palm of the other, rested his elbows on his legs, and leaned closer to her: "Look, coffee is bad for the fetus, isn't that true? But I didn't say the fetus was on your body. If you drink it, through the balance of yin and yang, wouldn't you pass the caffeine in your body to me? Wouldn't that affect the fetus?"

Ye Chuyi felt that the room was very hot, and wondered why there was no air conditioning. Her face was burning with heat, and she didn't know whether to hit his hand or his mouth.

"Look again." Wei Sibei loved seeing her silly look. "I said you're going to be a mother, so what did I do wrong? Just tell me which word I misspoke, tell me, tell me, tell me!"

Wei Sibei pinched the back of her hand and tapped it against her stomach. Ye Chuyi repeatedly said, "Okay, okay! That's right, that's right, that's right!"

She glanced at him, pulled her hand back, and rubbed her wrist.

Wei Sibei was smug, crossing his legs, but he was even more unconvinced: "Little brat, you're shy too? Don't you think about how much I suffered while carrying this baby? What man gets pregnant? Especially someone like me, someone like..."

"What is this?" Ye Chuyi raised an eyebrow.

"Look at this tall, big guy, with a ball on his chest, it's ridiculous!" Wei Sibei's dark skin was surprisingly flushed.

His abdominal muscles were firm and strong, and his waistline was narrow. Ye Chuyi tilted her head and thought for a while, but she really couldn't imagine what he would look like if he were pregnant.

He would support his lower back and abdomen like a normal person, and spread his legs apart like before. Why does he need her to support him?

She was amused by the image in her mind and burst out laughing: "Then go ahead and get it done."

Wei Sibei's face suddenly darkened, and his dangerous gaze fixed on her face: "You... don't want it?"

She was so concerned about his health just now, not letting him engage in strenuous exercise, so he naturally assumed that she wanted it.

Ye Chuyi couldn't figure out what he was thinking and didn't dare to answer rashly.

If they choose to keep the child, it means they will be entangled for life; even if they don't get married, they will be bound together because of the child.

She wasn't sure if Wei Sibei wanted to lock her up completely.

This was an accident, and none of them were prepared to take responsibility.

Besides, the baby is inside Wei Sibei's body, so it seems it's not up to her to decide whether to keep it or not.

Eight years have passed, and she can't tell whether this feeling is just an obsession or a deep and genuine affection.

What if, after getting back together, the two people discover that they are not the same as they imagined, and end up being even more hurt?

Her hesitation infuriated him. Wei Sibei snorted coldly and turned his face away: "I'll schedule the surgery tomorrow."

Ye Chuyi wasn't sure about his attitude. He shouldn't allow anything related to her to remain inside his body, right? Why did he seem angry again?

She picked up an apple, peeled it, and placed it in front of him: "What day did you agree on? I'll go with you."

Wei Sibei remained silent, and the atmosphere became extremely awkward.

Ye Chuyi paused for a moment, then stood up: "I'm going to the restroom."

As soon as she pushed open the door to the private room, Wei Sibei regretted it. Why didn't he answer her? He just let her go like that.

He opened his mouth, but ultimately didn't call out to her. The ball was slammed against the wall with force, then bounced back, banging against the floor and wall panels before finally settling down.

He couldn't stand watching the competition from below the stage either, finding the crowd of people an eyesore.

Twenty minutes passed, and the person still hadn't returned.

Could it have fallen into the toilet and been flushed away?

The lingering effects of the fight were coming back, and his lower abdomen was throbbing. Wei Sibei rubbed it vigorously, feeling as if there was something blocking his abdomen.

So be it if he miscarries. He wants Ye Chuyi to watch and see how much pain he's in so she'll understand how much she cares for him.

Wei Sibei kicked open the door and looked into the crowd, but he couldn't see her.

Further down the path, at the entrance to the changing room, Wei Bowen was holding her tightly.

"Chu Yi, please give me another chance, okay? Eight years ago, I was incompetent. If I had been in charge of the Wei family back then, instead of my uncle, you would have chosen me, wouldn't you?"

Ye Chuyi had her back to him, so he couldn't see her expression, but he did get a clear look at Wei Bowen's face, which showed how he used feigned weakness to manipulate others.

Wei Sibei cursed Wei Bowen in his heart for being spineless. He knew that Ye Chuyi was only with him because of his status at first, and later, after finding out that his uncle was actually the one in charge, she turned around and threw herself into his arms. Yet he still couldn't forget her.

Wei Bowen adopted a humble attitude: "I know there is a rift between you, and I will not take advantage of it. However, if your uncle lets you down, I don't care if you settle for someone else."

Wei Sibei remained motionless, listening intently, as if the gladiatorial combat and cheers on the field belonged to another world.

Ye Chuyi straightened up, facing him directly, and replied, "Bowen, we're the same age. Since we met, we've played and laughed together, experienced many things we'd never experienced before, and made many wonderful memories, but..."

"Stop talking," Wei Bowen interrupted her.

Ye Chuyi smiled and said, "I haven't finished saying 'but' yet."

Wei Bowen, however, dared not look her in the eye: "I already know what you're going to say. You want us to go back to being good friends. You can be my friend, my buddy, my best friend, but not my woman, right?"

Upon hearing the words "bro" and "bestie," Wei Sibei clicked his tongue in exasperation.

Ye Chuyi instinctively wanted to say sorry, but she couldn't convince herself why she should apologize.

“What if…” Wei Bowen grabbed her shoulders, leaned down, and looked up at her, “what if I competed fairly with my uncle?”

“Then let’s go!” Wei Sibei stepped out of the shadows.

He took off his boxing gloves and shoved them into Wei Bowen's arms: "I haven't had enough fun today, how about a full-contact match?"

The crowd erupted like firecrackers, chanting incessantly, "Resist! Resist! Resist!"

Ye Chuyi frowned, looking worriedly at his lower abdomen: "Wei Sibei..."

Wei Sibei bypassed her and pulled Wei Bowen out directly.

The arena went completely dark, and even the lights on the ring were dimmed to a hazy, yellowish hue.

The audience is so excited because the upcoming matches will be ruthless.

There are no referees, no rules; winning is the only rule. Unless one side voluntarily admits defeat, you fight to the death as long as you don't kill the opponent.
