Chapter 34 I'm going to help my older brother make dumplings. Besides your older brother, everyone else...

"Thank you for lending me your phone. I've finished my call." An Fusheng returned the phone to Wen Min. "I went to resign from my previous job the day before yesterday, but he wasn't there, so I left your number with me. I forgot to tell you when I got back."

"It's nothing." Wen Min took the phone. "What did your boss want to talk to you about?"

"They told me to go back and pack my things," An Fusheng said.

“Speaking of packing, where did you live before? Now that you’re not living there anymore, you should pack your things too. If you rented a place, you should cancel the lease when you’re not staying there,” Wen Min said.

An Fusheng said, "I don't remember. I'll go back to the company tomorrow and ask the boss to see if he knows."

Wen Min sighed, "How about I lend you money to buy a cell phone? It's really inconvenient not having a cell phone. Look at you, you don't remember anything now. If you had a cell phone, you could contact your friends and you wouldn't be unable to find your old place."

An Fusheng felt that Wen Min made sense. Although he had no intention of prying into the original owner's privacy, he had inherited the original owner's life and lifestyle, so he couldn't live in ignorance. "Okay."

"Are you going to the hospital?" An Fusheng asked Wen Min.

"Let's go after dinner."

"Do you have anything else to do right now? If not, why don't you take Xingrui and Xinghe down to play?"

“Okay.” Wen Min had originally planned to take them down to play. “You’ve made them all wild. But children should naturally stay that way. We were just too busy before, so we had to keep them in check.”

Wen Xingrui was reaching out as far as he could for a hug.

An Fusheng opened the cage door, took Wen Xingrui out, and put him on the ground: "Go by yourself."

Wen Xingrui glanced at An Fusheng, confirmed that he was being held, and strode forward with a grin.

"Xingrui can walk now? That's great!"

The children in the welfare home are generally late walkers and talkers because no one has time to teach them every day compared to other children. Wen Xingrui, due to physical reasons, was three years old and still could not speak or walk. Unexpectedly, An Fusheng taught him to take steps in just a few days. Wen Min was very surprised.

An Fusheng led Wen Xingrui by the hand, while Wen Min pulled Wen Xinghe from behind, and the group went downstairs together.

When they got downstairs, An Fusheng handed Wen Xingrui over to Wen Min, saying, "I'm going to make dumplings for tomorrow's breakfast. Xingrui is in your care."

“No problem.” Wen Min took Wen Xingrui’s hand with his other hand.

The children, who had eaten after school, were full of energy and were now chasing each other on the slide.

Wen Xinglin felt he was already a primary school student and didn't really want to play on the slide with the kindergarten kids. However, An Shisi and Wen Xingmou insisted on dragging him along. When he heard An Fusheng say that they were going to make dumplings, Wen Xinglin shoved Afu, the baby he was holding, into An Shisi's arms. "Afu is for you to play with. I'm going to help my older brother make dumplings."

An Shisi wiped his sweat. What? Help his older brother make dumplings? How could he leave out helping his older brother? An Shisi handed Afu to Wen Xingmou, who had just slid down the slide, "I want to help my older brother too."

Wen Xingmou and Afu in her arms looked at each other, "What kind of help are they going to do?"

An Shisi said, "We want to help our eldest brother make dumplings."

Everyone was vying to hold Afu, and they even played rock-paper-scissors to determine the order. It wasn't even Wen Xingmou's turn yet, but Afu was already in her arms. Wen Xingmou should have been happily playing with him, but she wanted to join in the fun even more. "I want to help my older brother make dumplings too!"

Wen Xingmou hugged Afu and looked around, then ran up to Wen Xinghe and said, "Sister Xinghe, Afu is for you to play with."

Before Wen Xinghe could agree, Wen Xingmou had already shoved Afu into her arms, then followed An Shisi towards the kitchen, saying, "Wait for me!"

"Is the kitchen this fun now?" Wen Min looked at everyone running towards the kitchen and took Wen Xinghe's hand. "Let's go take a look too."

Just as An Fusheng took out the flour, children came running in one after another, saying they wanted to help him.

An Fusheng felt he didn't really need their help, but seeing their enthusiasm, he couldn't bear to refuse them. "Then let's wash our hands first."

The kitchen at the welfare home was built separately and was very spacious. A dining table and chairs could be placed in the middle of the kitchen to make it a dining room. However, it must have been done this way before, because there was indeed a dining table against the wall of the kitchen, but it was covered with miscellaneous items.

There are too many people wanting to help make dumplings, so there's not enough room on the counter. An Fusheng cleared away the clutter on the table, moved it to the center, wiped the table clean with a damp cloth, laid down a silicone mat, and moved all the dumpling-making ingredients and work onto the table. "Let's do it here, it's more spacious."

"Big brother, this table is too high, I can't reach it." The table was almost up to Wen Xingmou's chin, how could she possibly help her!

“I can’t reach it either.” An Shisi climbed onto the edge of the table and strained to look up.

An Fusheng found it adorable that the two little Luo Tou couldn't reach the table even when they jumped up, so he couldn't help but tease them, "Oh dear, what can we do? I can't make the table shorter either."

This wasn't the first time they'd encountered such a difficulty, so An Shisi wasn't stumped. "I know, we can just use that stool to put underneath."

“Yes!” Wen Xingmou nodded like a chick pecking at rice.

The two of them huffed and puffed as they ran to get the small stool they had been using to stand on the stove.

An Fusheng quickly stopped them, "This is unstable. You didn't fall because you were leaning your entire upper body against the counter. But this dining table isn't like the counter; it's easy to trip and fall."

"Oh? What should we do then?" Wen Xingmou asked.

"Why don't we go to the restaurant and bring over your usual dining chairs? They're quite high, so you can sit on them," An Fusheng suggested.

“Yes!” An Shisi put down the stool. “Come on, Xingmou, let’s go get some stools for eating!”

"Okay!" Wen Xingmou also threw down the stool and ran after An Shisi.

"I want some too!" Actually, Wen Xinglin couldn't quite reach the things on the table.

"Brother, don't do it yet, wait until we arrive!" An Shisi ran to the door and then turned back to remind him.

An Fusheng stopped pouring flour into the basin. "...Okay."

As Wen Min walked to the kitchen door, she saw the children who had just rushed in rushing out of the kitchen again. "What's wrong?"

"Let's go get some stools!"

"Yes, we're too short!"

Wen Min almost burst out laughing; it was the first time she had ever heard someone describe their shortness with such grandiloquent confidence.

Wen Min led Wen Xinghe and Wen Xingrui into the kitchen, where they saw a large table in the center, covered with various tools. "Wow, what a grand setup!"

An Fusheng smiled sheepishly, "They all have to do it together."

Wen Xingrui wanted to explore anything new he saw, and even though Wen Min held him back, he kept running towards the table.

“Can we apply to join as well?” Wen Min asked.

“Okay, I’ll go get you some stools.” An Fusheng said and followed him out of the kitchen.

"Let's go wash our hands and make dumplings."

Wen Xinghe put Afu down, and Wen Min helped Wen Xingrui sit on the stool. "Don't move, understand?"

Wen Xingrui grinned and chuckled, "Hehe!"

In the blink of an eye, Wen Xingrui had already chased the cat and crawled under the table.

"You unfilial son! Come back here!" Wen Min's temples throbbed.

Wen Xingrui glanced back at Wen Min, somewhat hesitant.

"I'll count to three, one! Two!..."

Wen Xingrui obediently crawled back...

Wen Min would give Wen Xingrui a good beating whenever he mentioned him.

Wen Xingrui behaved himself and obediently sat on the stool waiting to wash his hands.

An Fusheng carried in a stool and happened to see this scene. He was utterly amazed. Did he not know so much? Was he just pretending to be stupid when he called him all the time?

The orphanage has children of all ages and backgrounds all year round. To make it easier for the children to eat, they made dining chairs of various heights. The chairs that the children usually sit on are quite high and made of solid wood, which are very heavy. The children cannot move them by themselves. So An Shisi, Wen Xinglin, and Wen Xingmou carried the chairs into the kitchen one by one, like ants carrying house.

The three of them worked together to move the chairs over and place them on the table. Then, they nimbly climbed up and sat down. "Big brother, we're all ready."

An Fusheng helped Wen Xinghe sit down on a chair and said, "Okay."

Wen Xinghe asked An Fusheng timidly, "Big brother, can I make dumplings too?"

"Yes."

"But I don't know how..."

"It doesn't matter, no one else knows how to wrap it except your older brother, hahaha." Wen Min laughed, "Anyway, it doesn't affect the taste no matter how it's wrapped."

Wen Xinghe: "Okay."

An Fusheng was about to pour flour into a large basin.

Wen Min said, "I've seen a lot of people making those colorful dumplings online, should we make those too?"

An Fusheng paused in pouring the flour. "Huh?"

Wen Min searched for a video on her phone and showed it to An Fusheng, saying, "It's like this."

An Fusheng had seen colorful dumplings on his phone before, but he thought they were all flashy and impractical.

But the children were incredibly excited when they saw the dumplings in the video, which came in all sorts of colors. "Big brother, big brother, I like these! Let's make these!"

"I like this too!"

An Fusheng said, "We do have these vegetables, but we don't seem to have a juicer."

“Of course we have one.” Wen Min got off the stool, rummaged through the cupboard, and pulled out a food processor. “Look, here it is. With so many kids in our family, we have all sorts of tools. It’s just that Uncle Du didn’t like using these things before, so he put them away.”

The food processor was bought by Wen Min. Wen Min had wanted to learn to cook before, but she always got lost in the tutorials with "appropriate amount of green onion and ginger, a little salt and MSG", so she gave up.

"I'll wash it," An Fusheng said, taking the food processor.

After cleaning the food processor, An Fusheng took out spinach, dragon fruit, and carrots from the refrigerator. "I used up all the pumpkin this morning when I made breakfast, so I don't have any more pumpkin coloring."

Wen Min said nonchalantly, "It's nothing, just one less color, it won't affect the overall situation."

An Fusheng quickly prepared spinach juice, dragon fruit juice, and carrot juice.

Amid the children's anticipation, An Fusheng placed three brightly colored juices on the table, eliciting a chorus of "wows."

The assistants didn't need to knead the dough yet, so they sat around the table craning their necks to watch.

An Fusheng mixed the various colored doughs together, simply kneaded them into balls, and the white flour went into the bowl and came out as dough balls of different colors. The children were extremely excited.

"Big brother, give me the green one quickly, I want to knead the green one!" Wen Xingmou shouted urgently.
