Chapter 108 I'd like to thank you in person sometime.

"Alright, you can go back now. No need to see you off."

Chu Wennian spoke to the Xia Yijun and Chu Qingzhi brothers standing at the entrance of the military region.

"Okay, then drive carefully on your way back."

Chu Wennian and Chu Ning got into the car and said goodbye to their two brothers.

"Okay, don't be sad. Cheer up. There are more important things to do later."

"Yes, brother, I know, I just feel sorry for the child." Chu Ning's voice was trembling with tears.

“Sigh! Neither of us are good fathers or mothers. We have both missed out on our child’s growth. If it weren’t for Mom, Dad, and Xiaoling, we would never have been able to focus on our jobs with such peace of mind all these years.”

"We, the Chu family, have lived up to the expectations of heaven and earth, but we have failed our own family members."

After he finished speaking, both the brother and sister fell silent.

One was staring out the window, seemingly lost in thought, while the other appeared to be driving intently.

"Brother, I wouldn't say I survived by the skin of my teeth, but it was extremely dangerous. A friend of mine, Rossi, helped me escape. You should know him; his mother is the lady you rescued when you escorted me to the Italian airport. He's her son. He mentioned it casually during a conversation, saying that Chinese people were his mother's benefactors. He said he felt especially close to me when he found out I was Chinese. Later, we gradually became familiar, and he offered to help me escape. After I escaped, they sent a large number of people to hunt me down."

“Brother, when I was being chased, I ran into two Chinese men. They were very skilled. If they hadn’t saved me, even if I had escaped, they would have caught me again.”

"How could two highly skilled Chinese people be in such a remote and desolate place, especially near such a base?" Chu Wennian asked directly, voicing his doubts.

"I didn't have time to ask any questions at the time. All I could have thought about was getting out of there. They could have stayed out of it, but they still risked their lives to help me. As fellow Chinese, they saved me in such a dangerous moment. I just don't know if I'll ever have the chance to thank them in person again."

Chu Ning was truly grateful to the two gentlemen who helped her escape, even though she was so nervous throughout that she didn't get a good look at them.

"Now that you're back, that connection is severed. Don't overthink it."

“I know, brother.” Chu Ning nodded.

“The materials you submitted are taken very seriously. They must be on edge right now. Once this storm passes, I’ll arrange for our people to contact them and activate the backup plan.”

"Remember this: your only superior is your brother. Don't trust anyone else."

"They will arrange for someone to pick you up in the evening. There will be two others with you, who are assigned to accompany you. They will take care of you and assist you with your life and the studio. So once you get there, you only need to complete the work assigned to you by your superiors, and you must remain neutral towards all other people and things."

Chu Wennian reminded his sister that there was no comfort or safety around them as they had imagined.

The old house is off-limits to unauthorized personnel, so he felt at ease leaving his parents there.

He was quite at ease knowing that both girls were attending military academies, which were under the control of higher authorities, and that both girls were quite capable in combat.

The other two boys are already capable of handling things on their own, so he doesn't need to worry about them anymore.
