He patted Chu Jiaojiao's head, signaling the others to disperse.

The few people being protected in the middle had sweaty hands and their hearts were pounding so hard they felt like they were going to jump out of their mouths.

Chu Xingyue had already reached the first floor via the stairs.

Chu Xingyue leaned close to the first-floor staircase and quietly observed the first-floor corridor. The entire area in front of the building was quiet, making one wonder if the muffled groan she had just heard was an illusion.

Chu Jiaojiao, who was above, saw Chu Xingyue's safety hand signal through the gap in the stairs, turned around and waved to signal everyone to follow.

The group quietly followed them down to the first floor.

There was no light outside except for the stars in the sky.

"Ah!" A shout came from some dormitory.

The group of people were startled.

The "ah" sound doesn't last long, at most two or three seconds.

But those two or three seconds are enough to wake an alert person from their sleep.

The sound was quite coincidental; the dormitory that had been attacked was now empty, and just when it was his turn, a sudden urge to pee woke him up, causing him to wake up and go to the bathroom. He was startled to see someone standing in the room and screamed.
