“Sir, your food delivery.”

“I… didn’t order it… Oh, thanks.”

Two minutes later. “Sir, wrong delivery. Please return it back to me.”

Chapter 80 The Rules of Ghost Marriage

Why did you stand by and watch someone die?

This question puzzled not only Liu Junhai and others present, but also the experts and leaders watching the live broadcast through the camera.

"Could saving someone trigger the death rule?"

"You've saved quite a few people before, and you haven't triggered any rules, have you?"

"I think he's just cold-hearted and simply doesn't want to save people."

The people in the conference room watched the situation unfold on the big screen, making comments and opinions, which made them have an even worse impression of Xia Tianqiong.

The scene, at the elevator entrance.

Xia Tianqiong didn't even look at Guo Zhan, and said indifferently, "Which eye of yours saw that he was going to die?"

Everyone was taken aback, then realized that while the strange creatures were grabbing people everywhere, they had never actually witnessed them killing anyone.

Guo Zhan retorted, "Being arrested and forced into a ghost marriage, is that a good thing?"

How do you know it's not a good thing?

"How could it possibly be a good thing?"

From a normal perspective, being mysteriously abducted is definitely not a good thing.

"Alright, you guys want to save people, I don't care."

Xia Tianqiong didn't want to waste any more words. He stepped into the elevator first, glanced at the female ghost with long, flowing hair, and said indifferently, "Get out! Don't delay my elevator ride."

The female ghost was intimidated by his aura and felt a sudden sense of panic, sensing that this human seemed to be quite extraordinary.

It immediately grabbed the man next to it and darted out of the elevator.

Liu Junhai and the others were still at the elevator entrance. They were first astonished that Xia Tianqiong could scare away the female ghost with just one sentence, and then when they saw the female ghost rushing out, they subconsciously took action to intercept her.

The Mountain and River Squad still had six members, all of whom possessed considerable skill in cunning.

The female ghost's long hair flew like a whip, making her look terrifying. In reality, she was just a wild ghost and no match for the Mountain and River Team. As soon as they started fighting, she was at a disadvantage.

Startled, Song Shiqiao quickly stepped into the elevator and only felt a little safer when she stood next to Xia Tianqiong.

The battle was still raging outside, but Xia Tianqiong pressed the button for the first floor of the elevator.

The elevator doors slowly closed, and Liu Junhai realized that they weren't planning to wait for them!

"Get in the elevator, don't get entangled."

He grabbed the man, slipped into the elevator, and the other team members followed suit.

The female ghost stood outside the elevator, glaring angrily at them, but dared not come in.

The elevator doors closed, and it slowly descended.

"Thank you, thank you for saving me."

The rescued man thanked Liu Junhai and the others repeatedly, looking relieved to have survived a disaster, but no one paid him any attention.

"Mr. Xia, why can't you save people?"

Liu Junhai couldn't help but raise the question again.

“There’s no need to waste time here.” Xia Tianqiong didn’t explain directly, but asked him instead, “Are you here to take orders from me, or to ask questions?”

Liu Junhai was taken aback, then fell silent.

The others looked clearly annoyed, but none of them said anything.

The elevator quickly arrived at the first floor. Xia Tianqiong walked in front, and the others followed silently.

It was completely dark by then. The landscape lights in the residential area adorned various flowers and plants, but the surrounding buildings were pitch black, with not a single one lit.

Cries for help and screams rose and fell, noticeably more frequent than before dark.

It's obvious without even guessing that this is some kind of eerie activity targeting people!

Guo Zhan leaned close to Captain Liu Junhai and whispered, "Are we really not going to rescue them?"

Liu Junhai glared at him but didn't say anything.

Xia Tianqiong led them to a place between several buildings, where there was a small square, about half the size of a football field.

There is also a musical fountain in the middle of the square, which used to be very lively, with nearby residents gathering here to play and have fun.

It was deserted; the fountain wasn't running, and there wasn't a soul in sight.

Seeing that Xia Tianqiong had stopped, Liu Junhai reminded him, "We have explored this place many times before and found nothing unusual."

"Don't you think it's too quiet here? There isn't even a mosquito."

Xia Tianqiong's reminder made everyone realize that something was wrong.

It's the height of summer now, and at night, there are all sorts of mosquitoes everywhere. There should also be crickets chirping in the flowerbeds.

But it was eerily quiet here.

Guo Zhan frowned and asked, "What does that prove? This place is completely open; there's nowhere for the supernatural to hide."

Xia Tianqiong ignored him and raised her hand to cast the Sky-Splitting Technique around her.

There was no clear target; it was just randomly released into empty spaces.

The crowd didn't understand what he was going to do, and watched in surprise, neither helping nor stopping him.

Suddenly, a figure was blasted out by the Sky-Splitting Technique and fell to the ground in a sorry state.

This is a man wearing a brown long robe. There is a gash in his chest, but no blood is flowing out, and it is healing rapidly.

It's obviously weird.

It stared at Xia Tianqiong with eyes full of resentment, stood up, and its body turned transparent again.

Like becoming invisible, it gradually disappeared from everyone's sight.

"Now that you've shown yourself, don't run away."

Xia Tianqiong took out a bronze mirror with her left hand and shone it on the disappearing eerie creature.

The eerie upper body had disappeared, becoming almost transparent, but its legs were fixed in place, unable to move.

Liu Junhai was suddenly startled. "Is it the mastermind behind this incident?"

Xia Tianqiong replied, "I'm not sure, let's take it first."

"Do you need our help?"

"No need, I can handle it."

As Xia Tianqiong spoke, his hands were not idle either. He unleashed a series of space-shattering spells, leaving the strange creature battered and bruised, forcing it to exit its stealth state.

"Stop! Stop hitting me! If you keep hitting me, I'll die! If I die, you'll trigger the death rule too!"
