Qingyun is probably the most troublesome villain. Protagonists, who appear once a century, relentlessly attack him, yet cannot harm him in the slightest. When he was bedridden, appearing as if he w...
It was because Nie Chenyuan was a great help to the protagonist and the opportunity for his cultivation to improve that Qingyun was able to know his identity.
It's almost like it's been disguised as a set of rules.
But can he still leave?
He scooped up a handful of icy water and splashed it on his face, gazing at his reflection in the mirror. He could leave, but he needed something. He had a strong feeling that this thing was related to the protagonist.
Nie Chenyuan seemed extremely interested in Qingyun. Although Qingyun ignored him, he began to speculate about Qingyun's identity.
"If you know me, you must be from the ancient martial arts world. You were even afraid of Lin Yuhao when you were in high school."
Upon hearing this, Qingyun frowned and flicked the water droplets from his hand. The protagonist? He had never been afraid of that.
“You are a member of the Qing family.” Nie Chenyuan confirmed Qing Yun’s identity, but at the same time he was a little puzzled. “The Qing family has only one heir. Qing Haolin is dead, leaving behind only a good-for-nothing son. In terms of cultivation, the Qing family does not have anyone named you.”
Qingyun chuckled, "I'm really sorry, I'm Qing Haolin's good-for-nothing son."
Nie Chenyuan's eyes widened slightly; he was genuinely surprised.
He had some connection with Lin Yuhao, so he naturally knew about Qingyun's situation. Because they came from the same mother, the two were inevitably compared.
Lin Yuhao is exceptionally talented, resourceful, kind-hearted, and resilient, making him a highly anticipated prodigy in the ancient martial arts world. In contrast, Qingyun is like a harmless and timid lamb, lacking any outstanding qualities.
In Nie Chenyuan's view, Lin Yuhao was already a promising and powerful figure who deserved attention, while Qing Yun was still living under the protection of a powerful family. Without Qing Haolin's protection, he was nothing.
The reason Qingyun has attracted so much attention is because Lin Yuhao chose the Qing family.
Nie Chenyuan's gaze remained fixed on Qingyun's slender yet upright figure as he slowly lit a cigarette. He had always been interested only in powerful things; he never expected that he could misjudge someone.
"Click"
Flames leaped up, and a faint smell of smoke filled the air. Qingyun frowned subconsciously.
Nie Chenyuan looked at Qingyun's injuries and reminded her, "You shouldn't have avoided Yuhao. He's still your brother, and it's better for you to live with him than to struggle on your own. Besides, your mother is with him too."
His statement clearly indicated that he believed Qingyun's injuries were caused by fighting in underground boxing matches for a living.
Qingyun scoffed, her eyes filled with hostility: "What? You want me to live in harmony with my father's killer? Oh, if I follow him, I'm afraid my days are numbered too."
He looked down at the tiny wound on his palm slowly healing. Qingyun's soul was too powerful; although it was mostly damaged, it was enough to modify this body, so these injuries were nothing now.
-
"There won't be any surprises." Lin Yuhao chuckled into the phone, a hint of malice in his voice. "He was seriously injured, his dantian was destroyed, and he even rolled down the mountain. How could he possibly still be alive?"
"The mental cultivation method?"
Hearing the persistent questioning on the other end of the phone, Lin Yuhao frowned. After defeating Qing Haolin, he brought his mother over. His mother brought the Qing family's martial arts techniques and wealth, but the accompanying cultivation methods were only known to Qing Haolin and Qing Yun, and now that both of them were dead, they naturally couldn't be found.
"What good cultivation techniques could a second-rate family possibly have?" he scoffed.
"If your mother knew that Qingyun's death was your doing..."
"No, not at all." Lin Yuhao's smile remained unchanged, but his eyes slowly turned cold. That woman probably already knew. But what did it matter? Besides his dead father, who else cared whether Qingyun lived or died?
Lin Yuhao looked at the desolate woods outside the villa and smiled faintly. He figured the body would likely be reduced to ashes. He hung up the phone and turned to walk into the living room.
The hall was bustling with noise, and all the renowned figures in the ancient martial arts world were celebrating for him, the genius of the ancient martial arts world.
-
Nie Chenyuan looked at Qingyun with a helpless smile: "I know you can't accept the changes in your family. But Qing Haolin was indeed wrong back then, and his death had nothing to do with Yuhao. Back then, it was just a matter of stopping short of a fight on the stage."
"Besides, Yuhao won't make things difficult for you, his younger brother..."
"Bang!"
Qingyun kicked the coffee table in front of Nie Chenyuan. The perfume bottle that had shattered on the floor was pushed and made a creaking sound on the wooden floor.
"Can't you understand human language?"
Qingyun's eyes were red. He lowered his head and approached Nie Chenyuan, his breathing becoming noticeably heavier with anger: "He says that if my dad did something wrong, then it's my dad's fault? My mom was forced, and I, her 18-year-old son, didn't even know that? You outsiders, however, can see it clearly? My dad died in the hospital less than a week after his match with him, and it had nothing to do with him? He's a kind person and wouldn't make things difficult for me. Does that mean I injured myself?"
Why is it that everything the protagonist does and says is right, while this perennial villain gets blamed for something he did while in seclusion to cultivate?
Qingyun has no shame before Heaven or before men, and has never done anything immoral or unjust. Why should she have to endure the protagonist's repeated attacks?
Those protagonists can command a large following and have many supporters, while Qingyun, despite his arduous cultivation, remains bedridden like a dying man, hated by everyone like a rat in the street, and in the end, all his cultivation is used to benefit others.
He deserves it just because Heaven has designated him as a villain.
A ruthless glint flashed in Qingyun's eyes. Unfortunately, even if he was the protagonist chosen by the Heavenly Dao, he should be killed without hesitation. On the contrary, he, the villain whose body was not even suppressed by the Heavenly Dao, still lived for ten thousand years despite being cursed by the whole world!
He will never stop here, no matter what it takes to leave. He's not the protagonist now, and he never will be; but now that he is, he'll take it all back.
