...Zhou Shuyan x Mu Ran ①
Mu Ran first met Zhou Shuyan when he was ten years old.
After school that day, clutching his perfect score test paper, he excitedly ran home, wanting his father to sign his name.
But when he reached the door of the study, the wooden door, which wasn't fully closed, was slightly ajar, causing him to stop in his tracks.
Through the crack in the door, he saw his father sitting in a chair behind his desk, and on his lap sat a man.
The man's skin was as white as the finest mutton fat jade, his features were so exquisite they seemed unreal, and his eyes were slightly upturned at the corners, giving him an indescribable allure.
He wrapped his arms around his father's neck, while his father's head was buried deep inside his open shirt.
The man's shirt was torn and disheveled, the collar wide open, revealing a thin layer of red on his exposed shoulder.
Mu Ran stood there, looking through the narrow gap at the two intertwined figures, listening to the occasional soft sounds of blushing faces leaking out from inside.
After an unknown amount of time, the man seemed to sense something. In a brief pause between breaths, he slightly turned his head, his gaze piercing through the crack in the door and landing precisely on Mu Ran.
The moment their eyes met, the man didn't panic. Instead, a faint smile appeared on his lips, and he even blinked very lightly in his direction.
The next second, the man was pulled back into his father's arms, his head tilted back, and low breaths escaped his throat.
At that time, Mu Ran didn't understand what a marriage of convenience was, why he had rarely been able to spend time with his parents since he could remember, or why the two of them divorced so quickly after he was born.
Someone quietly told him that his parents were both gay and that he was born only for the benefit of the family, but he didn't understand and didn't want to understand.
He only believed what he saw with his own eyes; he believed that the man named Zhou Shuyan was the culprit who destroyed his family.
That day, Zhou Shuyan was the last to sign the exam paper. After the man finished signing, he took out a piece of fruit candy and gave it to him, then leaned down and placed a light kiss on his forehead, softly calling him "baby" and saying, "From now on, we are a family."
Who wants to be his family?
Mu Ran hated Zhou Shuyan to the core. He hated her so much that her delicate face haunted his dreams day and night; he hated her so much that during his first wet dream, the image that flashed through his mind was what he saw through the crack in the study door; he hated her so much that even when he secretly masturbated under the covers, he still thought of Zhou Shuyan.
Driven by hatred, when he stumbled upon Zhou Shuyan and his friend rolling around on the sofa in the reception room, he wanted to tear Zhou Shuyan to pieces.
He didn't give his friend a chance to explain, punching him until his face was bruised and swollen, before coldly tossing out the words "Don't let me see you again," and dragging him out of the villa like trash.
Turning back to the reception room, Zhou Shuyan was still lying on the sofa, her eyes flushed with an unnatural redness. Her shirt was torn open, revealing ambiguous red marks on her collarbone, as if she hadn't yet recovered from the drug's effects.
Mu Ran knew, of course, that it was his so-called friend who had drugged him, trying to extract company secrets from Zhou Shuyan while his father was hospitalized.
He knew that Zhou Shuyan's loss of composure was beyond her control, but he couldn't suppress the anger surging in his chest.
He leaned down and grabbed Zhou Shuyan's chin with such force that he almost crushed her bones. "You have some nerve."
Zhou Shuyan stared at him blankly, her unfocused gaze taking a while to focus before she recognized him. The next second, she clung to him like a drowning woman grasping at a straw, calling out in a sticky voice, "Ranran... baby..."
"Don't call me that."
That's disgusting.
Zhou Shuyan seemed not to hear him, only frowning and shrinking uncomfortably into his arms, "It hurts...it hurts so much..."
"Look carefully, see who I am."
“I see clearly…” Zhou Shuyan stubbornly rubbed against his neck, “You are my baby… Waaah… Baby, help Mommy…”
Mu Ran suddenly raised his hand and slapped Zhou Shuyan across the exposed chest.
"You think you're worthy to be my mother?"
Zhou Shuyan flinched from the blow, a red welt appearing on her chest, but due to the effects of the drug, her body pressed honestly against Mu Ran, "Baby...it hurts..."
The voice was soft and seductive, stirring up the hatred that Mu Ran had suppressed for more than a decade, as well as those shameful dreams that he had desperately tried to forget.
He suddenly grabbed Zhou Shuyan and slammed her onto the sofa, watching her groan softly as he did so, tears welling up in her eyes.
"You slut," Mu Ran cursed under his breath. "My dad's still in the hospital, and you're out here fooling around with some random guy. Today, I'm going to teach you a lesson on his behalf."
