Chapter 9 The Mall Incident While shopping with my younger brother, enemy forces...

"Cities are really different, well, this is my first time in a city..."

Enid was about to say something to Damian beside her, but when she saw the people coming and going around her, she suddenly lost her ability to speak and fell silent. Enid, who had been chattering incessantly, suddenly quieted down because they had just arrived at the shopping center.

Damian turned to look at her. He had excellent observational skills and could detect Enid's slightly trembling fingers and her unnatural expression when she saw the passing crowds. Was she afraid of crowds?

"TT," he chuckled softly, then seemed to do something on his phone, "Go this way."

After trying to compose herself, she followed Damian along a relatively quiet path to a nicely decorated lounge. Inside, there was only a very professionally dressed woman standing there with a friendly smile, holding a tablet.

In the center of the lounge were comfortable sofas and carpets, and on the coffee table were freshly made snacks. She suddenly realized why Damian had come here—was it because he had discovered something?

"Thank you, Damian."

“I just don’t want someone suddenly standing in the street, trembling all over, making the Wayne family look bad.”

He seemed to be speaking very rudely, but it was clear that she only heard the underlying meaning behind his words. She wanted to explain, but then felt a little embarrassed looking at the woman standing there. The woman, however, very cleverly handed her the tablet respectfully. "Miss Wayne, here are all the new seasonal items. If you see anything you like, you can click here to select and confirm it. It will be delivered very quickly. If you need anything, you can click here to call me, and I'll be there anytime."

After explaining things gently and clearly, she quickly withdrew, leaving Enid and Damian alone in the lounge. Enid turned to look at him.

“I’m sorry, actually I’ve never been anywhere outside the academy before. I’m probably better off with my family, but…” She paused, her gaze shifting to the doorway, “I haven’t been in contact with outsiders. Even during those few days, I tried to avoid crowds as much as possible. Um, I don’t mean anything by it, I’m just explaining that I’m not actually afraid of crowds.”

Enid tried to explain, then realized she wasn't very good at it, and she felt a bit of a headache. Damian seemed to be listening, but he didn't seem to have any other expression, just like before, and then a long time passed.

"I will train you to be a proper Wayne."

"Then I'll leave it to you, Damian."

Like a painted scroll, the sunlight just ignited all the stars. She suddenly seemed to like this place a little. Although the air was filled with dust and the sun was hidden, the smell of blood and other scents intertwined to form a very murky black, which was completely different from the green scent she knew and saw. But there was something she had never seen before - the scent of fireworks.

Enid wasn't entirely sure if she would truly adapt to this place, but at least for now, she didn't dislike it.

Along with her thoughts, she swiped her fingers across the tablet, quickly ordering one piece of clothing after another, which were then swiftly delivered to the scene. The woman also walked in, her face still bearing the same gentle and friendly smile as before—a professional smile.

"Miss Wayne, would you like us to provide a fitting service with mannequins?"

Enid hesitated for a moment, about to agree, but as she struggled, Damian stood up. His movements were incredibly swift, and he subdued the man in no time. Suddenly, the people disguised as deliverymen also stepped forward; their target was—Enid.

“Trash is trash,” Damian’s attack was very effective, even very quickly taking down these “kidnappers” who didn’t seem to be very strong. Then he tied them all up with ropes he’d somehow produced, and tapped his Bluetooth headset: “Drake.”

She didn't know what was coming from the other end of the earpiece, but she could see Damian urging Enid to hurry up. Obviously, someone would handle the cleanup, but she didn't know who it was. Enid pursed her lips.

"Maybe I can get them to tell the truth. Well, magic can be useful sometimes, can't it?"

Some people might be tempted, but clearly, someone on the other end of the communication stopped them and urged them to leave immediately. All the clothes Enid had just selected would be delivered to Wayne Manor. You see, the clothes model on the tablet was actually a complete 3D model, with the body shape roughly based on Enid's. So you could see if it suited her without even trying it on. And even if it didn't fit, it didn't matter, right? Anyway, it all belonged to Wayne.

"Can you teleport directly back to Wayne Manor?" Damian suddenly asked, his tone seemingly overly serious. Enid paused for a moment, then shook her head. "I need a precise location and a teleportation array. Only after setting up the array can I arrive at any time. Father hasn't agreed yet..."

“I will talk to my father about this.”

Damian didn't seem to mind, but Enid was a little confused as to why this topic was brought up suddenly. However, she soon noticed that Damian had a sour expression, but he handed her a gas mask and insisted that she put it on without explaining anything. Enid wasn't one to ask too many questions, so she obediently put it on, and he did too.

“From now on, you will follow me, and summon Naya to follow you.” After saying this, before she could begin, Damian handed her a gas mask, but this time Enid refused, “Naya is a messenger of God, and nothing other than a sharp blade can harm her.”

Naya is Mr. Black Cat's name. She only mentioned it once to Damian, and he remembered it. The black cat quickly emerged from the dark corner in an instant, as if he had always been there. Only the green light emanating from its slightly open eyes reminded people that there was a cat there.

He quickly jumped onto Enid's shoulders, a striking contrast to her white dress. She followed Damian silently. Damian seemed to quicken his pace after noticing she could keep up. From secluded, deserted places to the bustling shopping center, the facilities were excellent, but Enid found it amusing because no one was talking.

The shopping mall's ventilation ducts had been tampered with. After Damian realized that these guys were just a bunch of rabble, he suddenly sensed something was wrong. The gas couldn't just enter the lounge. He had actually checked it, but what puzzled him was the manager.

He certainly wouldn't apologize, but Damian was indeed a bit annoyed because he had only informed Lucius and the people Lucius had arranged. This was, of course, confidential. Enid's identity wouldn't be revealed now; there would be a special arrangement later. His rare action had been used by others, which made him very angry.

What angered him even more was that these were the very people involved? He didn't believe that was all; as it turned out, he was right.

Red Robin immediately activated the inspection system and discovered an abnormal error message in the shopping mall's ventilation ducts. However, this message had been covered up beforehand by the manager (who had certain authority).

Damian had already analyzed the gases using his portable detector and transmitted the simple data back to the bat cave.

"Is there something strange in the air? Perhaps I can tell you its composition, but maybe purification would be simpler?"

Enid had noticed something strange earlier. She had a keen sense of everything in nature, including the air. All things were believed to have a spirit, and she was the only believer of the God of Nature, possessing supreme authority.

Damian suddenly became interested and looked at her, saying, "It's alright, go ahead." Enid nodded, and her fingers emitted a faint glow before touching Damian's bare skin. In an instant, Damian was 100% certain about the composition of the gas in front of him, and he immediately transmitted it to Red Robin.

After receiving the information, Red Robin compared it with the brief analysis he had just received and realized it was correct. He then relayed the information to Batman, who hesitated for only a moment before issuing the order to Damian.

"Notify the priest to purify."
