Bringing a Supermarket to Ancient Times to Raise Cubs

Xiao Yunying never dreamed that she would go downstairs to buy cold medicine, and a bolt of lightning would strike her into ancient times, turning her into a fat girl who was abandoned on her weddi...

Chapter 404 Confirming Identity

Luo Sheng knocked on the door, and Luo Chen opened it upon hearing the sound. He paused for a moment when he saw who it was: "Father."

Luo Sheng hummed in agreement and then strode into the room.

Luo Chen only came to her senses after he entered the house: "Wait a minute, Dad, what are you doing?"

Luo Sheng entered the room, first looking around at the furnishings, and finally focusing his gaze on the wardrobe.

Luo Chen stood in front of him, and in her haste, she completely disregarded who the person in front of her was and abandoned her usual respect: "What are you doing? Get out, this is my room!"

Luo Sheng glanced at his nominal eldest son, then walked past him and went straight to the wardrobe.

The children's room was similar in size to the one they lived in, with a desk near the window and a small bookcase next to it.

He approached the wardrobe and discovered that the bookshelves in the room were not placed against the corners of the walls, leaving some gaps.

In the gap, there was a square flower stand that should have been used to support the flower pots, with a memorial tablet on it and two red eggs in front of it.

It's narrow, but secluded enough that you can't see it unless you're near the wardrobe.

Luo Chen realized that he had been discovered and tried to run over to hide the memorial tablet.

But he was nowhere near as fast as Luo Sheng.

Luo Sheng picked up the memorial tablet and examined it carefully. Luo Chen, who was standing to the side, became anxious and said, "Give it...back to me."

Luo Sheng let him take the memorial tablet back, and let Luo Chen wrap it in a piece of cotton cloth and put it in his wardrobe.

"This is Xiao Yunying's memorial tablet."

The tone is not a question, but a statement.

Luo Chen closed the cabinet door: "It's none of your business."

Just then, Luo Yang's voice came from the doorway: "Father, what are you doing in my eldest brother's room?"

Luo Sheng looked towards the door and saw Luo Yang standing there with a book in his hand, presumably to ask Luo Chen about his studies.

"I want to confirm whether the current Xiao Yunying is still the same Xiao Yunying as before."

Luo Yang's expression froze. He went into the house, saw that there was no one in the courtyard behind him, and closed the door.

"Dad, you found that memorial tablet? We were ignorant before and misunderstood. We tried to use the memorial tablet to perform a curse. It was wrong of us. We will destroy that memorial tablet immediately."

Luo Sheng stared intently at the bright child before him: "I heard everything you said this morning."

Even the usually calm and composed Luo Yang felt a little flustered upon hearing this, and nervously gripped the book in his hand.

Luo Sheng continued, "Do you know where Xiao Yunying went this afternoon?"

Luo Yang said, "Didn't Mother say that she went to the West Mountain to take a look, probably to see where she could find some mountain produce?"

Luo Sheng stopped looking at the stubborn Luo Yang and glanced at Luo Chen, who was clearly nervous: "She took the wooden box containing Xiao Yunying's wedding dress and erected a cenotaph for her on West Mountain."

Luo Chen's eyes widened: "You...you went with them?"

They were so worried that their mother wouldn't come back that they didn't pay much attention to Luo Sheng's whereabouts.

Knowing he wasn't home in the afternoon, I assumed he had gone to the vegetable garden to watch the farmhands work, as usual.

Luo Sheng said calmly, "I did go with her and saw quite a few things. For example, she came up the mountain empty-handed, but she could produce a wooden box, a shovel for digging, and several kinds of peaches that I had never seen before."

The two brothers exchanged a glance and quickly considered how to respond.

They knew how shocking their mother's actions were, and if she were considered a monster, she certainly couldn't stay here any longer.

Luo Sheng walked to the table, dragged out a chair and sat down: "Don't be nervous. I know she raised you, and this is also a favor from the Luo family. I will not repay kindness with enmity."

I just wanted to know her background; I had no other intentions.

Hearing herself say that she could conjure objects out of thin air, she showed no surprise, no fear, and didn't even refute her own words.

These two brothers must have known about her ability for a long time.

Knowing that she might not be human, yet still living with her as if she were a normal person and always protecting her in their words and actions, is enough to show that the children trust her.

Luo Sheng felt that after spending this time together, he could understand why the two brothers knew that Xiao Yunying was no ordinary person, yet they still remained close to her.

"Please sit down."

The two children looked at each other, but did not move, remaining standing in the same spot.

Luo Sheng did not insist: "I know you have many things you want to ask me, and I also have many things I want to ask you. You go first."

Luo Chen pursed his lips, then asked in a low, stern voice, "Why did you leave us here unattended? Aren't you afraid we'll die here?!"

Luo Yang glanced at his older brother, then lowered his head, his long eyelashes concealing the emotions in his eyes.

This time, he didn't try to dissuade Luo Yang; he also wanted to know Luo Sheng's true thoughts.

He knew that Luo Sheng might have some unspeakable secret that threatened his life, but knowing this was one thing, but not hearing anything for so long inevitably caused him to feel an uncontrollable sense of resentment.

Luo Yang wanted to hear Luo Sheng's explanation in person, rather than the reasons that his older brother, younger brother, and younger sister had come up with to comfort him.

Luo Sheng remained silent for a long time before slowly speaking.

That night, the father and his two sons talked for a very long time, until late at night, when Luo Sheng finally came out of Luo Chen's room.

Xiao Yunying was unaware of the all-night conversation between the father and his two sons. It was only a few days later that she gradually realized that the relationship between the three of them seemed to have improved considerably.

She didn't think there was anything wrong with it.

After all, they are a family connected by blood. Spending time together will always awaken forgotten family affection.

There was just one thing that she found a little strange.

It's one thing for Luo Sheng to be close to the children, but lately, for some reason, all sorts of coincidences and reasons have been appearing around him.
