Xiao Yunying never dreamed that she would go downstairs to buy cold medicine, and a bolt of lightning would strike her into ancient times, turning her into a fat girl who was abandoned on her weddi...
Xiao Yunying stood there, somewhat conflicted.
Now, the young lady from the Minister's mansion sits at the long table against the wall, while Luo Sheng sits near the door.
She didn't want to be near either side.
Luo Xin suddenly raised her hand and pointed in one direction: "Mother, let's sit over there."
Xiao Yunying was startled for a moment, but she was relieved when she saw where Luo Xin was pointing.
Luo Xin was referring to the area next to Luo Sheng. Luckily, it wasn't Madam Luo's place, because she was afraid the little maid would say something about not letting anyone else sit there.
"Okay, let's sit here."
She lifted Luo Xin onto a stool, glanced at the tableware on the table, and, ignoring the questioning looks from others, rearranged several sets of tableware.
Madam Luo asked, "What does this mean?"
When Luo Sheng saw Xiao Yunying place a brand-new set of white tableware with blue patterns in front of him, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly for a moment, but then he quickly suppressed it.
He explained, "Yunying doesn't like sharing utensils with others. Mother, try these dishes. Yunying's cooking skills are quite good."
Xiao Yunying sat down. Because there were elders present, she did not serve food to Luo Xin first, but waited for Madam Luo to start eating.
Granny Chang first ladled out a bowl of soup: "Madam, please try this pigeon soup."
Madam Luo took a sip with a spoon: "It's good, you should eat too."
Xiao Yunying breathed a sigh of relief and used serving chopsticks to put some of each dish on Luo Xin's plate.
Granny Chang continued to serve soup, first to Luo Sheng, and then to Xiao Yunying.
Xiao Yunying accepted it with both hands, but before she could speak, Zuo Lanzhi on the other side spoke up.
“Miss Xiao, you are, by all accounts, a daughter-in-law of the Luo family, and it should be your job to serve your mother-in-law meals.”
