Allen Osborn is cold, reclusive, arrogant, and fickle, abhorring all social interactions and superheroes.
He is handsome, wealthy, and has superb medical skills, yet he chooses to work as a s...
Chapter 36: Everyone Exposed? They're All Superheroes.
Allen pulled his trench coat tighter and strode forward aggressively, completely ignoring Dick following behind him.
He truly never doubted that Dick was Nightwing… well, when Dick successfully escaped the hydrogen-powered car in the blizzard, he roughly knew Dick was no ordinary person. Unfortunately, he didn't want to think too much about it, attributing it solely to Dick's good luck and the skills he honed in the police force. If he had seriously inquired about when Dick arrived in Broodhaven and then properly investigated Dick's 'family background,' he certainly wouldn't have missed the truth!
Unfortunately, it's too late now. Not only did he let that annoying superhero move into his room, he also made Dick his boyfriend for a month!
“How could it be a month?” Dick asked in surprise. “Haven’t we been dating for six months already? In four months and twenty-five days it will be our one-year anniversary! I’ve prepared a gift for you! I’ve booked an ocean view room… cough, I mean a candlelight dinner.”
Allen ignored him and continued walking forward on his own.
Dr. Osborne, who had sworn never to 'collude' with the Premier League's anti-government factions, was now furious. He wanted to personally hang Luther's head from a lamppost, or blow up Lex Building, or, if all else failed, pluck all of Norman Dennis's hair out.
After thinking for a moment, Allen stopped, expressionlessly pulled a phone number out of his blacklist, and then sent it a photo.
Three seconds after the photo was sent, his phone started vibrating wildly.
Allen hung up the phone with satisfaction, then texted the number's owner, "Your kissing the toilet was so beautiful! I'm going to send it to the Daily Planet, what do you think?"
Then his phone started vibrating wildly again.
Allen felt his anger subside a little as he took it out on someone else, so he blocked the number that was spewing impotent rage again, shook off his foolish ex-boyfriend's hand, and continued walking forward with his head down.
Dick was still wearing his sexy Nightwing uniform, with a domino mask on his face. He jogged after him, explaining in a low voice, "Don't be angry, baby, I just never had a chance to say it before!"
Allen stopped in his tracks, turned around and glared at Nightwing: "Get lost!"
Dick whined pitifully, begging for a hug: "No!"
Generally speaking, if Allen sees someone acting cute or affectionate towards him, he will only feel disgusted.
But this tactic just happened to work incredibly well on Allen. When Dick snuggled up to him intimately, Allen couldn't help but soften his heart.
So Allen simply took a big step back, physically isolating himself from Daji's temptation.
Just then, his phone received a big data push notification with the headline: Nightwing is selected as one of the top ten sexiest superheroes of the year, beating out the Flash and the Hulk.
Allen scrolled through a series of fan-taken photos of sexy Nightwings soaring freely in the night sky, his anger rising again. "Go run for the Superhero Butt Ranking with your bodysuit! The stage in Bruderhaven isn't big enough for you!"
Allen stopped, leaning against the wall, panting. His vision blurred—mainly from anger at Nightwing, or rather, from himself. He wondered why, after seeing Nightwing so many times, he had never once glanced at Nightwing's backside. If he had, he might have recognized Dick sooner, and wouldn't have had to discover his boyfriend was a superhero only after they had a boyfriend.
He said he hates superheroes!
Unfortunately, he was now being held tightly in Dick's arms by a nervous-looking man, which made him completely unconvincing. His face was pressed tightly against Dick's chest muscles, and the tight-fitting uniform he wore over his body perfectly accentuated the contours of Dick's chest muscles—the kind that would make any man envious.
Allen silently thought about his abs and the muscle and fat he had lost due to not eating properly lately, and couldn't help but reach out and pinch them hard.
Dick had already scooped Allen up in his arms, and looked somewhat helpless. "Are you feeling unwell? I'll take you home now!"
Allen remained silent with a sullen face, and tried to get off Dick by pressing his shoulder.
Dick bent down and kissed Allen.
Allen refused the kiss with a cold face, but Dick pulled him into his arms and made him listen to Dick whisper sweet nothings in his ear.
Allen: ...
This is so annoying, I can't take it anymore!
As the two were struggling, someone suddenly shouted from behind to stop Dick: "Hey, what are you doing?!"
A red and blue figure appeared on the street lamp and then landed in front of them.
Dick and Allen looked up together and both noticed that thin spider silk disappeared along the man's wrist.
Brudhaven City Superhero Nightwing slowly typed a question mark.
Has Brodhaven really taken off lately? Has it become a superhero tourist city? Why are there so many superheroes from New York showing up lately?
He saw Daredevil last night, and Spider-Man today. Will the Avengers open a branch here tomorrow?
Spider-Man looked a little nervous, but he still stood firmly in front of Allen and Dick, holding out his hand to block their way: "What are you doing? Put him down!"
Allen's mood worsened after seeing Spider-Man appear.
He was most annoyed by these superheroes who ran around everywhere, and tonight, after learning that Dick was one of them, he was even more annoyed.
The special buff from Dick's earlier coquettishness vanished, and Allen's heart turned as hard as iron once more. He shoved Dick away, who was still clinging to him, and said to Spider-Man irritably, "What are you doing in Broodhaven? Don't tell me you came with Peter!"
Peter: ...
He did come to Brudhaven a couple of days ago. He called Harry, but then suddenly learned that Alan was sick. He couldn't sit still any longer, so he immediately took leave from school and rushed to Brudhaven.
Then, he learned from Harry that Alan actually had a boyfriend!
This news really... made him not dare to go to the hospital to visit Allen directly for two days, and he only dared to sneak into the ward at night to take a look.
He was genuinely curious about what kind of person would attract the cold-blooded madman, Dr. Allen. He hoped it wasn't someone like Lex Luthor, and Dr. Lecter, whom Allen had hired to solve adolescent psychological problems when he had a fight with Aunt May, was no exception!
But now... why is Allen being pulled into the arms and kissed by Broodhaven's superheroes?!
Could it be that she was forced?
Spider-Man looked at Nightwing with a suspicious gaze.
Dick's expression shifted to one of sudden realization beneath his mask. So this was another acquaintance of Allen's. Since it was an acquaintance, then there was no problem.
So he greeted Spider-Man warmly: "I'm Allen's friend..."
“No. He’s my enemy,” Allen said expressionlessly. “Do me a favor, Spider-Man, get me out of here now, away from this guy. If you can get this bastard hanging on a lamppost, I’ll sponsor you a custom-made suit.”
“Darling, you wouldn’t want me hanging from the lamppost,” Dick said tenderly, holding Allen’s hand.
Allen: "I'm willing to part with it, please hang it up quickly."
Spider-Man, who had been watching the young couple arguing for a while, finally realized something and couldn't help but ask the probing question: "So what exactly is your relationship? Isn't Alan's boyfriend Mr. Grayson?"
Mr. Grayson and Mr. Osborne stopped arguing.
The two turned to look at Spider-Man in unison, their eyes filled with confusion.
Allen remained silent for half a minute, his gaze repeatedly scanning the man's height, build, and subtle movements, before gritting his teeth: "Peter? Peter Parker?!"
Spider-Man over there stumbled back in fright, bumping into a lamppost. Clutching the back of his head, he waved his hands frantically, "Hahaha, what are you talking about? I'm not Peter Parker. Peter Parker is my personal photographer for the Daily Planet, I know him, and we're pretty close! But I'm definitely not him! Hey… how could that be? He's so weak… um… you guys chat for a bit, I have to go, I still have a takeout order to deliver…"
“If I remember correctly, Peter broke the faucet and doorknob in my apartment.” Allen gritted his teeth, connecting everything that had happened before. With Dick as a cautionary tale, he finally understood what had been wrong.
"He's the only bastard who managed to get a Spider-Man selfie!"
Peter launched himself out with a spider silk, ready to make his escape.
“Peter Parker, you come back here! I’m only saying this once!” Allen’s voice was full of anger.
Peter remained standing on one leg with his right hand outstretched, the spider silk arcing through the air before landing alone on the ground.
Spider-Man dared not move.
Dick couldn't help but hiss as he stood to the side, thinking to himself, "So I'm not the only one hiding my identity around Allen. Since we're all superheroes, we can now share Allen's anger. That's great."
Spider-Man stood obediently in front of Allen, not daring to raise his head.
"When did it start?" Allen asked.
"...It hasn't been long, just...just a few years."
"Just a few years?! And you never told me that even once! You only told me that you got stronger because you ate more! That damn thing, you ate more!!"
Peter, hidden behind the mask, looked extremely guilty, but unfortunately, Allen couldn't see it.
To be honest, Allen is quite easy to fool sometimes. At the time, he never thought he could hide it from Allen, but Allen actually believed the nonsense he made up.
Ahem... Okay, he repented.
Allen now feels like punching him whenever he sees his spider-like face.
Since he was too weak to deal with the damn bastard, he decided to hand the task over to someone else.
Peter, seeing Allen pull out his phone, pleaded, "Please don't tell Aunt May, she'll be worried sick!"
"Of course I won't tell May, but... I heard you and Daredevil are always seen together as best friends? Perfect timing, he's in Bluehaven right now, I'll have him give you a good talking-to, you're not allowed to be a superhero before you're an adult!"
Upon hearing the name of an old acquaintance, Peter showed a hesitant expression, but Alan still couldn't see it.
Allen couldn't get through on the phone, so he decided to drag Peter back to his apartment and give him a good talking-to.
A bizarre scene unfolded on the streets of Brodhaven tonight as two superheroes escorted the menacing Dr. Osborn toward his luxurious downtown apartment.
Nightwing was dejected; they wouldn't be going to the secret base today, and now they were preparing to obediently return to Allen's territory to sleep. However, judging from Allen's current attitude, this Spider-Man, AKA Peter Parker, should also be the original Spider-Man, not a replaced copy, so Dick was temporarily relieved.
His other half shattered the moment he entered the apartment.
Perhaps it was just bad timing that they returned, but the 'copy' Matthew, whom Allen had mentioned, was standing by the window making a phone call, his white cane casually placed on the coffee table.
Alan glanced at him, but before he could say anything, Harry came out of the room.
Harry paused for a moment upon seeing the two superheroes, Spider-Man and Nightwing, then frowned and walked towards Allen without thinking.
Midway through, he accidentally knocked Matthew's cane away. Just as he picked it up and was about to hand it to Matthew, who looked somewhat unnatural, his hand accidentally touched some kind of mechanism.
Immediately afterwards, the cane suddenly transformed into two short sticks in a very high-tech way, with a sharp steel wire protruding from one end of each stick.
Spider-Man coughed loudly.
Dick's expression was indescribable.
Allen stared intently at the steel cable, silently clenching his fists.
