Chapter 30 030
"They're finally out!"
Emerging from the red mist, Chuuya Nakahara couldn't help but sit down anywhere in the safe zone outside.
Behind him, several of his men stumbled out and collapsed to the ground.
Chuuya Nakahara gasped for breath, looking back with a hint of horror in his eyes: "Just how big of a piece of land did those guys claim?"
Earlier inside, to conserve energy, I jumped into the air for only a moment, glanced at the general location, and jumped back without looking further...
But looking back now... how big is this place?
"These people over here are also..."
Looking to the other side, not far from the foggy area, groups of ordinary people lay sprawled on the ground.
Looking at the group of guys whose calves were twitching, their faces contorted, and who were having difficulty breathing, Chuuya Nakahara was speechless.
"Are these people completely exhausted?"
Looking at his subordinates behind him, who were still struggling despite their professional training, Chuuya Nakahara wasn't surprised that these ordinary people were exhausted from running.
Suddenly, as if remembering something, Chuuya Nakahara looked up sharply and beckoned his men to walk towards the crowd.
"Wait! You guys come with me! What if they bury someone else...?"
Before Chuuya Nakahara could finish speaking, he watched as a slightly burly, blue-faced demon floated over from a distance, grabbed a guy who was almost buried from under the crowd by the collar, and threw him onto a relatively high, deserted open space a short distance away.
It seems like they're doing something good, but after considering the perspective, Chuuya and the others felt that from the ground... it looked a bit like these ghosts were carrying people around and throwing them to some unknown place.
Because they were thrown directly, those who were pulled out often let out a groan of pain.
The people on the ground were also frightened, so they tried to get up and run away. But because they were too weak, what they showed was a bunch of raised hands and wriggling corpses (exhausted).
These scenes, when combined, create a truly exquisite artistic scene.
Is this some kind of hellish, monstrous place?
Nakahara Chuuya: ...
Innocent subordinates: ...
Ordinary people who wanted to move but were completely powerless: ...Don't come any closer! (Extremely terrified)
Chuuya Nakahara covered his face: "You guys go and explain to those on the ground. I feel tired just looking at them."
Several of his men were also quite emotional. After catching their breath, they went to the group of people who had collapsed and began to explain.
As the atmosphere gradually stabilized with the explanations from his subordinates, and several people even fainted, Chuuya Nakahara couldn't help but mutter to himself.
"Such thoughtful after-sales service after a terrorist attack? What are these people trying to do..."
Adjusting his hat, Chuuya Nakahara looked back at the red mist area behind him.
The reason why this fog doesn't know, is that it hasn't flowed since it first started spreading. When Chuuya Nakahara rushed out earlier, he also noticed that the fog was relatively stagnant.
If the airflow is weak, these mists seem to not move at all.
"So, it means it won't spread for the time being, right?"
From a great distance, Chuuya tossed his coat to one of his subordinates, then suddenly activated his ability and leaped up from the ground.
If it's a solo incursion, there's no need for such a low-skill maneuver as throwing down while enveloped in mist.
The direction of gravity changed instantly, and Zhongyuan, who was originally in the air, was thrown towards a tall building and drifted outside the fog.
Just before hitting the wall, gravity shifted again, and Chuuya Nakahara traced a parabola, leaving a large scratch on the outside of the tall building, before coming to rest on the wall.
Using gravity to his advantage, Chuuya Nakahara sprinted and used his special ability to jump, quickly reaching the rooftop.
Standing on the rooftop, looking at the several tall buildings not too far apart, Zhongyuan gave a wicked smile.
"It gets much simpler here."
He jumped again, but this time it wasn't as troublesome as before. He jumped high and then fell, easily reaching the roof of another building.
Chuuya Nakahara leaped and darted between the buildings, using the side of any particularly tall building as a foothold, making his speed several times faster than when he first left.
Barry, above the clouds, was stunned.
"What is this?!"
Seeing that Chuuya Nakahara had already jumped a great distance while he was still sighing, Barry straightened up and quickly turned around to call to Exupé, who was still putting on his equipment.
"Exupéry, stop worrying about the parachute! This guy looks like he's about to jump the mid-course! You're still 30,000 meters above the ground! Hurry, hurry, hurry!"
Exupé, carrying a gas canister, looked blankly at Barry.
Did Barry's last sentence not have a single punctuation mark?
"The equipment will break if we don't use a parachute."
Running to the edge of the clouds, Exupé peered out at the figure leaping between the tall buildings.
"I can't beat him without equipment."
"I don't have time to worry about that now, Exupéry, just bear with it!"
Barry grabbed Exupé, and a transparent, frosted glass-like surface completely enveloped a sphere surrounding Exupé, then gradually faded, revealing the figure encased within.
Exupé, at the center of the sphere, blinked blankly.
"Exupé, hold back and don't move!"
After scanning the path of Nakahara Chuuya, Barry held up the huge sphere, flew it over his head from behind in a semi-circle, and then threw the entire sphere down.
Not long after the sphere left his hands, it began to fall at an illogical speed, leaving Exupé inside, bewildered, clutching his gas canister and sonic gun as he plummeted to the ground.
As the sphere shrank in his field of vision, Barry's expression gradually became distorted as he recovered from his initial excitement.
"Damn it... How do you calculate gravitational acceleration and the kinetic energy theorem in high school physics?"
Barry counted on his fingers the speed and mass of Exupéry and his large entourage of weapons, and then shouted.
"This is already a mass weapon! It's very difficult to control at this distance! We don't need to blow up the outer perimeter, that would be a disaster! Exupéry will just smash through the building!"
Barry, as if struck by a sudden thought, hurriedly flew to the hole in the cloud, picked up his binoculars, and looked at Exupéry as he fell.
"Okay, okay...wait, wait...the altitude is about right! Sorry, Exupéry! Neverland!"
Exupé, who was quietly admiring the scenery while holding his gear, suddenly felt a loosening around him, followed by the sound of a strong wind rushing past him.
The spherical isolation layer around him had disappeared.
"Barry has deactivated his powers."
Looking down at the rooftop, still several hundred meters away, Exupé asked, puzzled, "Why was it lifted ahead of schedule?"
After thinking for a few seconds without getting a result, Exupé didn't dwell on it too much. He raised the equipment above his head, tried to make his feet touch the ground, and smashed directly onto the building made of concrete and steel.
Amidst a tremendous crash and the sound of rocks shattering, half of Exupéry's body was smashed into the concrete.
Upon landing on the solid ground, the first thing Exupé did was pick up the nozzle of the gas canister and spray it.
"Armed as usual."
After scanning the area and finding no widespread damage or broken valuables, Exupé nodded to himself, following Barry's instructions.
"Safe landing."
Slinging the weapon he had been holding high back behind his back, Exupé pulled his leg out of the concrete and looked at Chuuya Nakahara, who was staring at him with astonishment from the rooftops of several buildings away.
"Target discovery".
