Chapter 22: Bullying Scene - No Heroic Acts
Fang Songxia asked cautiously, "What's wrong with him?"
Wen Han glanced at him: "Falling in love with a jerk will drive you crazy."
Yang Lanjun happened to be passing by and, upon hearing this, asked with an ambiguous expression, "Oh?"
"Of course, the moment you realize this is the beginning of liberation."
Wen Han said to Fang Songxia, "I probably won't be able to walk with you at night anymore."
"Then how will you get home?"
"Anyway, Wenruo's hand will take a while to heal. Wenruan will take him on her bike, and then I can ride my little electric scooter."
"I'll wait for you to come together," Fang Songxia said. "You'll only be patrolling for about ten minutes anyway, I'll just read for a bit."
Wen Han smiled, but still declined.
When Fang Songxia went to the office to help the teacher carry the homework, Jing Yu said, "You and Fang Songxia have a really good relationship."
“Of course, we’ve been playing together since kindergarten,” Wen Han said with emotion. “When he was little, you couldn’t tell he would differentiate into an Alpha at all. He was so gentle and soft-hearted, and his cookies were always being stolen from him.”
The system spoke up: "Host, you wouldn't happen to be the one who stole his cookies, would you?"
Wen Han retorted, "What are you saying! I hated eating when I was little, how could I possibly take his food?"
Yang Lanjun asked curiously, "So how did you two start playing together? Both of you had your cookies stolen, and you were even fighting over bitter melon?"
“No,” Wen Han recalled. “His seat was next to mine at the time. He was crying because his food was taken away. I got annoyed by it, so I helped him get his food back.”
She said she was coming back, but actually Wen Han went over and smacked that little tyrant on the head, leaving him stunned and crying as he ran to the teacher to complain.
A child's character can be judged by their age at three.
Jing Yu kept her head down, seemingly lost in thought. Wen Han, seeing Yang Lanjun sit opposite her again, asked in surprise, "Really? Didn't you just calculate that before?"
The hints are so obvious, there's absolutely no possibility between you and Gu Cheng! Even if Gu Cheng and Wen Ruan break up, it's still impossible, let alone the fact that Gu Cheng could never break up with Wen Ruan.
“This time I’ll phrase it differently,” Yang Lanjun asked. “Why isn’t he interested in me?”
"I never want to be in a relationship again," Wen Han complained to the system, shuffling the cards as he thought about how to phrase it. "Are all people in love this unwise?"
Jing Yu rested his chin on his hand, his peach blossom eyes slightly upturned, looking at Wen Han's eyebrows that were unconsciously furrowed due to distress.
Why did Gu Cheng dislike Yang Lanjun in the original drama? Wen Han saw that one of the cards she drew was of a person tightly holding a gold coin, and then she remembered that Gu Cheng hated Yang Lanjun's "elite" temperament. She would always ask Gu Cheng what he wanted to do in the future, and she looked down on her as a very materialistic Omega.
Wen Han's opinion is that if Yang Lanjun didn't fall in love with Gu Cheng because of his material conditions, then it would be even more terrifying!
"Uh... you two are incompatible from any angle," Wen Han could only advise tactfully. "Of course you won't get along if your values are different."
“He clearly doesn’t like assertive people.” Wen Han’s mouth was dry from talking, and she finally compared, “Look at you and Wen Ruan, your personalities are completely different, Gu Cheng likes that kind of person.”
They're the main characters, destined to be together.
Yang Lanjun remained silent, and Wen Han assumed she had figured it out. Unexpectedly, she spoke again, "Then what do you think I need to do for him to like me?"
For the first time, Wen Han's desire for Qian Meng vanished: "There's absolutely no way you two can be together."
Why get hung up on one thing? Wen Han could only assume that she was too affected by her hysteria: "If all else fails, go ask someone in the student council if you can patrol together at night."
"Why, are you going to find someone you like again?"
"No, you might run into them kissing during your nighttime patrol." Wen Han said with a blank face. "If you see it too often, you'll find it disgusting."
Yang Lanjun bravely held back her tears, and even so, she still gave Wen Han twenty yuan.
Wen Han sighed, put the money away, knowing his biggest and only client probably wouldn't be coming back. He counted the money he'd earned and carefully put it away. Seeing Jing Yu still staring at him, he looked around and asked, "What's wrong?"
"So this is how Wen Han makes money," Jing Yu said with a smile, looking down.
Wen Han asked nervously, "What does it look like?" Was it eyes gleaming with golden light or a distorted face?
"They dared to be angry but dared not speak out."
Wen Han: "......"
"Isn't this how most people make money? Money is hard to earn and life is tough. There's no such thing as an easy life."
Jing Yu's smile deepened. As soon as Wen Han looked away, she saw Wen Ruan doing math problems, probably preparing for tomorrow's competition.
"Host, you can work hard too," the system encouraged. "Maybe you'll be the dark horse in the competition next semester!"
"A dark horse? I'm more like a black sesame seed." Wen Han said dejectedly, "If I were smart, I wouldn't be ending up on the streets."
"That's not right." The system couldn't stand him belittling himself. "Jing Yu has a high IQ, but his fate was even worse than this. This shows that everyone's outcome depends on their subjective initiative, not their IQ."
“You’re right.” Wen Han said thoughtfully, “I will definitely make Gu Cheng homeless.”
System: "......." That's not what it means.

When Wen Han and the others got out of school in the evening, before their homeroom teacher had even left, Lin He walked in with a grin. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought it was his own class.
Zhang Huihui suddenly stopped packing his schoolbag, but Lin He acted as if he didn't see him and said enthusiastically to Wen Han, "Wen Han, let's go."
Are there three of you together?
“Of course it’s two people.” Lin He smiled and really looked like a warm and friendly person. “But you’re not familiar with the place on your first day, so I’ll show you around.”
“Jing Yu is a new transfer student, so he’s even less familiar with the place.” Wen Han subtly moved the table around. Lin He had both hands on the table, and Wen Han couldn’t stand his overly familiar manner. What was that word again? Cheap?
"Wen Han," Jing Yu whispered, "Do you have my math test paper?"
"Oh, let me look for it." Wen Han's desk drawer was practically a graveyard of exam papers, so finding them was a huge undertaking. He flipped through it a few times, then looked up and said, "Lin He, you go ahead and check. Jing Yu and I will go over later."
“I’ll wait for you here—” Zhang Huihui pulled Wen Ruan and walked to Lin He’s side with her lips pursed. Lin He immediately smiled and said, “Then I’ll wait for you downstairs!”
After saying that, he ran away faster than a rabbit.
"Wen Han," Jing Yu suddenly said, "the test paper isn't with you."
"Huh?" Wen Han asked, "Then what did you just say—Oh!"
He realized that he had gotten Lin He away. Wen Han praised, "You reacted quickly."
Zhang Huihui's eyes reddened: "Wen Han, if you're not interested in Lin He, why did you join the student council?"
Wen Han put her schoolbag back on the table: "Are you sick? Does everyone who joins the student council have a crush on Lin He? Can you stop overthinking all the time? Who else but you would be interested in him?"
Zhang Huihui stubbornly replied, "Didn't you say before that someone would be interested in Gu Cheng?"
“Hmm, who else but Wen Ruan would be interested in her—” Wen Han hesitated, Yang Lanjun was one of them.
Why did he waste so much time talking to Zhang Huihui?!
"Jingyu, let's go." Wen Han walked with an air of authority, but after walking a distance downstairs, she realized she hadn't taken her schoolbag.
"Oh, I forgot my schoolbag," Wen Han said apologetically. "Wait here for me, I'll go back and get it."
"I'll go with you."
"No need, you go patrol first." Wen Han, not forgetting her purpose, specifically instructed, "There are many over on the playground, remember to keep watch for a while before you go!"

"It's all Zhang Huihui's fault, but ultimately it's Lin He's fault too," Wen Han said with dissatisfaction. "Why did he come to our class when he had nothing better to do? He made me make another trip."
You're being careless and blaming others. The system only dares to murmur in its mind.
In the pitch-black school building, it suddenly heard someone speaking: "Host, there seems to be someone over there."
Wen Han initially thought it was a sales opportunity delivered to her door, but she realized something was wrong when she got closer.
The air was filled with Alpha pheromones. Although there were Alpha-Alpha relationships at school, there were at least four or five different types of pheromones, and there might even be Betas there.
He hid behind a corner to observe. In the dim moonlight, several tall Alphas stood there, their red dots appearing from time to time, presumably smoking. In front of them, a person sat on the ground with his head down.
The system whispered, "Host, something's not right with them."
Wen Han: "......" I can see that.
Among the standing Alphas, one suddenly kicked someone who had fallen to the ground, and the system shouted, "Host, they're bullying us!"
Wen Han was about to leave when the system asked incredulously, "Host, shouldn't we stop them?"
"Do you think I'm the main character?" Wen Han scolded it for not having a brain after all this time. "There are so many people over there, do you think I can beat them? If I overestimate myself and go there, I'll definitely be short of weight."
"But they won't let that person go, will they? He's so pitiful. What if something happens to him?"
Since they were quite far apart, Wen Han quietly peeked out and asked, "What was that person's eye like?"
"ah?"
"Is the one who got beaten up the one with the hateful look in his eyes, the one who looks like a ruthless character?"
"Hmm...it seems so."
"Alright, he'll get his revenge. I'd better hurry up and leave."
"ah?"
"What do you mean, 'huh'? Do you want to see me get kicked or slapped?" Before Wen Han could move, someone yelled, "Who's there?!"
Wen Han was startled, and her foot slipped, completely exposing her.
He was doomed. He could only walk slowly towards it. The system asked, "Host, can't you run?"
"How could I possibly outrun an Alpha? Besides, Alphas have incredibly sharp vision; they must have already memorized my face."
"I can't escape now. If the guy who got beaten up retaliates in the future, he'll definitely retaliate against me too."
