Supreme Sacred Ring, Carefree Tycoon!
In the 80s, a good-quality old Hainan Huanghuali round-backed armchair from the Qing Dynasty could be yours for just twenty yuan. Now, two million yuan o...
Jack is a good tour guide, and the price of one thousand Danish kroner a day is worth his hard work.
Under his guidance, Yang Jing and his friends visited the University of Greenland, which they thought was very shabby at first. Through visiting this university, Yang Jing and Gege realized that this university looked very small on the surface, but it was very interesting inside.
Whether it is the faculty or the library collection, the University of Greenland is very good, at least much better than expected.
The only thing that made Yang Jing and Gege feel a little uncomfortable was that this university was built right next to Nuuk Airport, and the straight-line distance from the airport runway was less than 700 meters.
"We can't help it. Nuuk is so small, and the terrain is constantly undulating. It's not easy to find a place suitable for building an airport. Although our airport is the capital's airport, there are not many planes that can take off and land every year, and most of them are propellers. That kind of jet airliner cannot take off and land on this runway that is only 950 meters long. The noise of propeller planes is relatively much smaller..."
This is so true and reasonable.
But then again, Yang Jing had never seen such a shabby capital airport. Although Nuuk is the smallest capital in the world, it is still the capital of a country. As one of the external facade projects, you should at least build your capital airport better. The airports of many third- and fourth-tier small cities in China are better than this airport...
And what the hell is that golf course between the University of Greenland and the airport? If Jack hadn't insisted that this was the only golf course in Gothab, Yang Jing and Gege could barely identify some greens. They really couldn't believe that this was actually a golf course.
Golf courses in other places are either covered with green trees or lush grass. Even the golf course of the golf club that Yang Jing and Gege saw on Yulong Snow Mountain a few days ago, although it is more than 3,000 meters above sea level, is still covered with green grass and snow-capped mountains. The scenery is so beautiful that it looks like a painting.
But what the hell is this? Is the grass of the golf course all made of boreal moss? It seems that the grass of public football fields in many small cities in China is a hundred times better than this one!
It's too shabby, isn't it?
Finally, after seeing the world's most shabby Capital Airport, the smallest Capital University, the golf course that most resembles a football field... and a series of other "bests", Yang Jing and Gege could no longer bear to go shopping.
But then again, this is definitely a wonderful experience. If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, no matter what others said, they would not believe that a country with a per capita GDP five times that of China could be so shabby.
Definitely an eye-opener!
Reading ten thousand books is not as good as traveling ten thousand miles. Our ancestors were right!
However, several people were smiling happily while eating lunch.
The seafood dinner here was undoubtedly better than the one we had in St. John's three days ago.
Yang Jing and his friends were very happy to eat the many cold sea seafoods from the Labrador Sea or Baffin Bay. Precious Arctic sea cucumbers, delicious Arctic shrimps, and queen crabs that were as big as a pot lid when spread out. These seafoods are hard to find outside, but they are plentiful here. You can eat whatever you want, and the price is not expensive.
So, the two foodies from China and five even bigger foodies from San Francisco, USA, really enjoyed the meal to their heart's content.
After lunch and a short rest, the group went out to sea on a yacht to watch whales under the leadership of Jack.
Nuuk is a world-famous whale-watching destination. Although Greenland is located in the far north, it has many pure and flawless glaciers, and the excellent seawater environment has bred as many as fifteen species of whales.
If you come to Nuuk to watch whales in winter, you can only see three types of whales, narwhals, beluga whales and bowhead whales, also known as Greenland whales. However, between May and September each year, you can see up to fifteen species of whales in this sea area, such as humpback whales, fin whales, minke whales, fin whales and other whales.
Yang Jing and his team successfully saw a pair of humpback whales in the afternoon.
The humpback whale is a medium-sized whale, not a big one among whales. However, it has a pair of extremely long front wings and a very complex call. Humpback whales are known as the "singers of the sea". Their calls are extremely complex, and once they start to call, it is really a yin and yang rhythm, especially when a pair of humpback whales start to call at the same time, the sound is really like a concerto.
Moreover, these big guys also like to jump out of the water. When they jump out of the water when they are happy, their posture is extremely agile.
Once this kind of whale appears, it must be in pairs. If you see one humpback whale, you can also see another one. It is definitely a model of deep love between husband and wife.
On the way back, Yang Jing and his team were fortunate enough to see a group of about ten narwhals.
This whale, which has a horn more than two meters long, is only four or five meters long, which is considered small among whales. However, because of the unique horn of the narwhal, it is easy to associate it with the legend of the unicorn. Therefore, for centuries, people believed that it has medical effects and even magic.
You should know that in the Middle Ages, when narwhal horns were most valuable, the price of "narwhal horns" was ten times the same weight of gold. Legend has it that Queen Elizabeth of England once received a narwhal horn worth 10,000 pounds, which was enough to buy a castle at the time.
