Chapter 556: Reasons for Imitation

These nine tripods were all cast with exquisite patterns, including many patterns of flowers, birds, fish and animals. There were also many clear hieroglyphic inscriptions inside the tripods, but Yang Jing did not recognize any of them.

These inscriptions boosted Yang Jing's spirits.

The value of a bronze tripod does not lie in its size, but in whether there are inscriptions on it and how many inscriptions there are. The Simuwu Large Square Tripod is known as the No. 1 bronze artifact in China, mainly because of its large size. However, in terms of its real archaeological value, this tripod is far inferior to the Maogong Tripod with 499 inscriptions and the Dake Tripod with 290 inscriptions.

Although the nine tripods in front of us are not bronze tripods from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, but imitations of them by Wu Ze, these nine tripods themselves are imitations of the famous Nine Tripods of Yu the Great. There are more than five hundred inscriptions inside each tripod, and the largest one, the Yuzhou Tripod, has more than nine hundred inscriptions inside.

Yang Jing did not recognize any of these inscriptions, but he knew that these inscriptions were obviously not the bell and tripod inscriptions from the Shang and Zhou dynasties. They were most likely the Xia Dynasty characters used in the early Xia Dynasty, that is, the early form of oracle bone inscriptions.

Yang Jing had no idea where Wu Ze got these early Xia Dynasty characters and inscribed them on the tripod, but he presumably spent a lot of manpower and resources to imitate the Nine Cauldrons. As the ruler of a country, she imitated the Nine Cauldrons. The characters on the Nine Cauldrons might be different from the real inscriptions, but they were definitely not much different.

The value of these inscriptions is inestimable!

Moreover, among these nine tripods, even the eight smaller ones are slightly larger than the Simuwu Large Square Tripod. As for the largest Yuzhou Tripod, Yang Jing estimated that its weight must be at least two tons!

Although these nine tripods are not bronze tripods from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, just based on their heads, their inscriptions, and the fact that they are imitations of the Nine Tripods of Yu the Great, once these nine tripods appear, the sensation they cause will definitely not be less than that of the imperial seal.

However, Yang Jing was also very clear that once the imitation Nine Cauldrons appeared, he would probably not be able to keep the Nine Cauldrons.

The symbolic significance of this thing is too great. Even if it is a replica, the country will never allow such a thing to be circulated among the people.

What do you want to do? Do you want to sit under the imperial seal and the Nine Cauldrons of Yu the Great?

Whether it is the imperial seal or the nine tripods, they must not be privately owned! Whoever dares to take these two things, the country will definitely have such thoughts!

Therefore, it is better to take the initiative to hand these two things over! Save yourself from getting yourself into trouble!

Although Yang Jing was no longer a Chinese in name, he never considered himself a foreigner. He never thought of taking the Imperial Seal and the Nine Cauldrons out of the country and taking them for himself.

This thing is the most precious national treasure of China. As long as you are a descendant of the Yellow Emperor, you will not do such a thing as giving birth to a son without a mother. Such a treasure can only and must stay in China!

The combined weight of these nine tripods was very astonishing, and Yang Jing couldn't figure out how these nine tripods were brought here. But thinking about the fact that those craftsmen were able to make dragon-breaking stones weighing dozens of tons, although these tripods were very heavy, they were not difficult to make.

However, these tripods were nothing to Yang Jing. He only needed to touch the nine tripods with his left hand, and the nine tripods immediately entered the storage space.

Looking at the nine tripods in the space placed in their original positions, with the imperial seal floating on top of the largest Yuzhou tripod, it would be a lie to say that Yang Jing was not proud.

He also didn't expect that the two most important items in the history of Chinese culture were found in just the tomb of Wu Ze. Even if the Nine Cauldrons were imitations of Wu Ze, they would still be a national treasure more valuable than any other cultural relic except the Seal of the State in modern times.

After moving his consciousness out of the space, Yang Jing began to focus his attention on the twelve golden men.

Obviously, this is another legendary item imitated by Empress Wu Zetian.

The Twelve Golden Men, whenever this name is mentioned, people will inevitably associate it with the greatest emperor of all time, Qin Shi Huang.

According to legend, after Qin Shi Huang unified the country, in order to prevent anyone from rebelling against him, he collected all the weapons in the country and cast twelve giant bronze men. Because copper and gold are similar in color, these twelve bronze men are also called the Twelve Golden Men.

Of course, there is also a legend that after Qin Shi Huang unified China, he melted down the Nine Cauldrons of Yu the Great and cast them into twelve golden men to suppress the fate of the country. However, this legend is obviously unrealistic. After Qin Shi Huang unified China, he wanted to find the Nine Cauldrons of Yu the Great to prove that he had the permission of the emperor. How could he melt down the Nine Cauldrons of Yu the Great to cast twelve useless golden men? This is simply missing the point.

This is just like Zhao Kuangyin or Zhu Yuanzhang, after they came to power, they clearly had the seal of the state, but they smashed it and made other seals out of it. That is absolutely impossible.

Therefore, it is absolutely impossible for Qin Shihuang to melt down the Nine Cauldrons of Dayu to cast the Twelve Golden Cauldrons.

These twelve golden men are not as big as the legendary Twelve Golden Men of Qin. They are only real-life size, about 1.8 meters.

Although there is no exact weight for the Twelve Golden Men of Qin, historians have roughly deduced their weight based on various historical records.

According to various historical records, the weights of the Twelve Golden Men of Qin are not equal. The heaviest should be around 30 tons, while the largest weighs more than 80 tons. The twelve golden men in front of us, even if they are solid golden men made of pure gold, are probably not as heavy as the lightest of the Twelve Golden Men of Qin.
