Supreme Sacred Ring, Carefree Tycoon!
In the 80s, a good-quality old Hainan Huanghuali round-backed armchair from the Qing Dynasty could be yours for just twenty yuan. Now, two million yuan o...
There are dozens of flea markets of all sizes in the Greater Paris area. The largest one is naturally the Saint-Ouen flea market that Yang Jing visited the day before yesterday; but the flea market with the cheapest goods is the Arrigues Market located west of the center of Paris; but which market is the most exquisite and most popular with tourists, it is undoubtedly the Vanvers flea market that Yang Jing is going to visit today.
The Vanvers flea market is located in the 14th arrondissement in the south of Paris. Geographically speaking, it is just across the Saint-Ouen flea market from the city center of Paris.
Yang Jing learned from the restaurant owner yesterday that this market is very small, only two streets away, and is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. The market mainly sells antique furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries, daily hardware from the 1950s and 1960s, as well as jewelry, antique cameras, phonographs, books, old documents, coins, second-hand watches, etc. Of course, there are also many modern second-hand items.
Yang Jing arrived at the market at eight o'clock in the morning. It was already bright in Paris at eight o'clock in October.
Sure enough, this market is very small, at least compared to the flea markets Yang Jing had been to before, the Wangfu Flea Market is really small. Two "L"-shaped streets over 100 meters long form the main body of this market.
Although the market is not big, it is crowded with people. Most importantly, there are no shops in this market. It is a completely open-air market. The stall owners only set up a shed at most, and many stall owners do not even set up a shed and just operate in the open air.
In fact, this model is the real flea market. The flea markets that Yang Jing had visited before, whether it was the Saint-Ouen Market or the Alphir Market, have all changed.
A real flea market is this kind of open-air market!
What made Yang Jing most happy was that he stood outside the market for more than ten minutes and did not see a single sneaky guy. There might be thieves here, but definitely not as many as in Saint-Ouen Market. No wonder Vanfers Flea Market is known as the safest flea market in the entire Greater Paris area.
Without those annoying guys, it would be more interesting to shop in such a market and customers would dare to spend money to buy things without any scruples.
No one wants to take out their wallet under the watchful eyes of a thief!
In fact, thieves have little room to survive in the Vanfers flea market. This is not because there are too many police here, but because everyone here is a police officer.
The Vanfers flea market has a long history, which dates back to the late 19th century, and it has a history of more than 130 years. In the 1980s and 1990s, there were many thieves here, which seriously affected the tourists here.
Without tourists, the stall owners would naturally have no income. Therefore, one day in the 1990s, a local stall owner who had been operating in the market for a long time spontaneously organized more than a dozen stall owners to form an "anti-theft alliance" whose main responsibility was to expel thieves who disrupted market order from the market.
Later, more and more stall owners took the initiative to join the alliance. By the new century, almost all the stall owners in the market had joined the alliance.
Once a thief is found in the market, all the stall owners will take the initiative to expel the thief. If the thieves continue to be rampant, they will soon find that their disaster has come.
No matter how rampant the thieves are, they have to leave obediently when facing a crowd of nearly 200 stall owners. If they dare not leave, they will immediately understand what the "vast ocean of people's war" means!
Over time, thieves in Paris all knew that the Vanfers flea market was not a good place for them to hang out, so thieves in Paris basically would not come here to commit crimes.
Of course, there might be one or two thieves from other places occasionally, but they are not a big deal after all. If these thieves are lucky enough, they may be able to make some money after working hard for a long time. But if they are unlucky, their fate will be nothing but a joke...
In contrast, the stall owners in this open-air market become more united because there are no walls separating them. The conditions in the Saint-Ouen flea market may be better, but there is really a lack of this kind of harmony and mutual assistance like that between neighbors.
As more and more people came into the market, Yang Jing was suddenly filled with the familiar noise.
Yang Jing could even hear many voices from his motherland. The main source of tourists to the Wangfu Flea Market was East Asia and Southeast Asia. In recent years, with the rapid growth of China's economic strength, tourists from China have become the main source of tourists to Europe and the United States.
The Vanfers flea market has long enjoyed a very good reputation among Chinese tourists because of its good public security. Almost more than 50% of Chinese tourists who come to Paris will choose to take a day to visit the Vanfers flea market.
Because of the cognitive reasons, flea markets in China are not very popular. Even if there are some, they are mostly flea markets for children spontaneously formed by adults with children, plus some flea markets in colleges and universities. The main business method of such markets is barter, and most of them are children's toys, books, and second-hand books and computers that college students cannot take away after graduation.
But flea markets in Europe and the United States are different. The flea markets here are real flea markets. Such markets are almost never seen in China, so tourists from China are very rare to visit this kind of flea market.
Although the Vanfers flea market is not big, there are really a lot of people there. It is no exaggeration to say that it is shoulder to shoulder.
Yang Jing strolled slowly with the crowd, and when he saw something interesting, he would stop to take a look or touch it.
Along the way, Yang Jing saw furniture with a history of more than 200 years. Of course, those furniture were not from aristocrats or royal families. Most of them were accumulated by ordinary people. Therefore, the prices were not very high and were very affordable.
Yang Jing also saw old items such as phonographs, vinyl records, second-hand books, cameras, etc. that were decades old. Most of these old things came from ordinary people and were not considered fine products, so the prices were not expensive.
Yang Jing saw with his own eyes a young man who seemed to be an international student, who bought six second-hand books for only five euros...
Of course, if you want to do this, you must at least master the "bargaining technique" to a high level. Only when you have convinced the stall owner with your bargaining, will you have a chance to get what you want at a low price.
Such a market is full of vitality, and such a market is what Yang Jing likes.
Slowly, Yang Jing walked to the middle of the market, where a stall selling second-hand books caught his attention.
