Chapter 755 Xuande Furnace

These are two antique copper incense burners with a diameter of more than 20 centimeters!

Almost the same as the Chai porcelain just now, Yang Jing only took a look at the two incense burners, and three words immediately popped up in his mind - Xuande incense burner!

There is no need for identification or research. With just one glance, Yang Jing can almost determine that these two antique incense burners are the legendary Xuande incense burners!

The so-called "big opening" and "first-look goods" refer to this kind of treasure. Such treasures really do not need to be identified and studied, because this kind of treasure can always make people see its extraordinaryness at a glance. Even a novice who knows nothing can clearly feel the difference between this treasure and other items!

This is just like the Chai porcelain we just discovered. It is the kind of treasure that no matter whether you are an expert or a novice, you can tell at a glance that it is a rare treasure!

These two copper incense burners in front of you are like this!

"Am I really so lucky? I just got a piece of Chai porcelain, and now I'm going to get two legendary Xuande incense burners?" Yang Jing almost couldn't help laughing. The treasures in this big iron box were really too unexpected.

The so-called Xuande incense burner refers to the first batch of copper incense burners cast by Emperor Xuande of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Zhanji, the grandson of Emperor Yongle, Zhu Di, after he became emperor. Because of the strict materials used and the exquisite finished products, these copper incense burners have been imitated by people in later generations, from the mid-Ming Dynasty to the late Ming Dynasty, to the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, and even to modern times, there are countless people imitating Xuande incense burners.

But as the saying goes, this Xuande furnace is truly the kind of item that "can only be imitated but never surpassed"!

Although it has been about 700 years since the Xuande incense burner was invented, and countless imitations have been produced during this period, as long as the three words "Xuande incense burner" are mentioned, everyone knows that it refers only to the batch of copper incense burners cast in the third year of Xuande. Only that batch of copper incense burners are qualified to be called "Xuande incense burners" or "Xuande incense burners".

As the most famous incense burner in Chinese history, when talking about Xuande furnace, we have to mention Emperor Xuande Zhu Zhanji, who ordered the production of Xuande furnace.

When Zhu Zhanji was born, Yongle Emperor Zhu Di had a dream in which his father Zhu Yuanzhang gave him a large jade tablet and said eight words: "Pass it on to your descendants, and they will prosper forever." Zhu Di thought this was a good omen. A few years later, Zhu Di launched the "Battle of Jingnan" that affected the course of the Ming Dynasty and successfully became the emperor.

Perhaps because of this, Zhu Di loved Zhu Zhanji very much. Zhu Di often took him out of the capital to go hunting. When he went north to fight against Mongolia, Zhu Di also intended to take Zhu Zhanji with him to temper him in the wind and sand of the north.

At that time, everyone knew that what Zhu Di really liked was the crown prince Zhu Zhanji, not his eldest son Zhu Gaochi.

It was precisely because he had received personal instruction from his grandfather since childhood that Zhu Zhanji became a very qualified emperor after he ascended the throne. Apart from anything else, Zhu Zhanji's father, Ming Renzong Zhu Gaochi, once planned to move the court from Yanjing back to Jinling. The main reason was that Yanjing was too close to Mongolia. If the remnants of the Yuan Dynasty counterattacked, Yanjing would be the first to bear the brunt.

To this end, Zhu Gaochi carried out some preliminary work in an orderly manner, such as setting up the Jinling garrison and sending trusted generals and eunuchs to take charge. At the same time, he appointed Crown Prince Zhu Zhanji to visit Zhu Yuanzhang's mausoleum in Jinling and stay there to preside over the work. However, Zhu Gaochi died before the plan could be implemented, which temporarily interrupted the plan.

After Zhu Zhanji ascended the throne, he made a decision that now seems very wise: cancel his father's plan to move the capital and continue to use Yanjing as the imperial capital.

There is no doubt that Zhu Zhanji inherited some of the good qualities of his grandfather Zhu Di. He was willing to move the capital as close to the north as possible and fulfill his duty as "the emperor guarding the country's gate" in person.

Zhu Zhanji had a second uncle named Zhu Gaoxu, who was very strong and had extraordinary martial arts skills. When Zhu Di launched the Jingnan Campaign, Zhu Gaoxu, as Zhu Di's second son, made great contributions to his father, so Zhu Gaoxu thought that he had made great contributions and should take over the imperial power left by his father Zhu Di.

Therefore, after Zhu Zhanji, who was only 27 years old at the time, ascended the throne, Zhu Gaoxu was very dissatisfied, so this guy planned to learn from his father Zhu Di and attack the court under the banner of "clearing the court". However, Zhu Zhanji was not Emperor Jianwen, and Zhu Gaoxu was not Zhu Di. Under the advice of Yang Rong, the Prince's Junior Tutor, the Grand Secretary of the Jinshen Palace and the Minister of Works, Zhu Zhanji personally led the army and defeated Zhu Gaoxu in two or three moves, and captured him alive. And finally killed this second uncle who was plotting rebellion.

After defeating Zhu Gaoxu, Zhu Zhanji immediately summoned Zhao Wang Zhu Gaosui and hinted that he should surrender his military power. Zhu Gaosui did not resist and surrendered his military power obediently. In this way, the Pan Wang problem that had been plaguing the Ming Dynasty was successfully resolved.

At the same time, during the ten years when Zhu Zhanji was the emperor, he implemented a policy of resting the people and actively developed agricultural production. In terms of military, Zhu Zhanji, like his grandfather Zhu Di, personally led many expeditions to defend against Mongolia and suppress rebellions, thus maintaining the Ming Dynasty. In terms of finance, Zhu Zhanji reduced punitive taxes in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to develop the economy. In terms of culture, he implemented a relatively relaxed and liberal cultural policy, and cultural undertakings developed rapidly...

In the end, Zhu Zhanji used ten years, plus the year his father was in power, to create a prosperous era comparable to the "Reign of Wen and Jing" - the "Reign of Ren and Xuan".

It can be said that Zhu Zhanji was indeed a very good and even wise emperor. The Xuande furnace was ordered to be made by this wise and artistic Emperor Xuanzong.
